Huh. I always that she was just supposed to erase the memories of their
childhood encounter, not everything that had occurred in the present.
The original childhood memories were erased. This was done in the
flashback. Since Keiichi was regaining those memories, more drastic
measures were ordered. This being erasure of all memories pertaining to
Belldandy. The best way to do that would simply be to reset the timeline
back to just before he met Belldandy for the second time.
Resetting the timeline, though probably difficult, might be easiest.
After all, Urd's domain is the Past (and not Love as she might wish) and
Skuld's domain is the Future. Since the Present cannot be, having been
forcibly removed, and the Future of said Present will never be the Past
should be easily re-asserted.
Of course, they could have done so differently, but that would entail
accounting for the past nine months. Also, they would have to do the same
for _everybody_ that knew about or heard of Belldandy. And you mustn't
forget about any publications either. A massive undertaking. Kami-sama
could do such a thing. But Urd and Skuld would require a lot of help and
power to do the same.
