Author's notes: I think the seeds of this came partially from something
Lara Bartram once said on IRC many months ago which stuck in my mind,
and a challenge on the list more recently to write a story where
Ayeka got Tenchi. Well, the latter didn't happen here, but then again
such a possibility hasn't been discounted.

I loved this little piece. I find that in the Tenchi series, Ryouko gets
marginalized too much (in fact, all the time).

She is constantly dumped on even when she isn't responsible (I'm not
talking Tenchi TV. In that one Ryouko is a twit... like the rest of the
cast).

Although you say that Aeka might get Tenchi, I doubt it. If Tenchi hasn't
shown any interest in any of the women by now, none of them will get him.
>From what I've seen, ALL of the women scare him, not a good basis to start
a relationship.

Scare, or perhaps intimidate? It is conceivable that Ayeka, who is
much more restrained when it comes to Tenchi, might earn his heart
during her absence. Then again, she might also be unsure of how to
proceed, and with the absence of Ryoko, who might be seen as a major
motivation for Ayeka to step p her attempts to get Tenchi, nothing
might really happen....

Anyway, if someone were bold, they could take this fic and make it a
launch-point for a mini-series based on Ryouko's adventures. She'll finally
get to explore TRUE freedom with all the happiness and pain that comes with
making your own choices.

This would be rather difficult to do, just because it would involve the
introduction of a large number of people and elements which are either
only marginally mentioned in the series, or not mentioned at all and
are creations of the author (or borrowed from another source). A daunting
task, to say the least, and yet strangely enough one that I am taking
into consideration (we must stretch ourselves as writers for our abilities
to grow). Still, unless I get a serious brainstorm, I doubt anything will
come out in the near future-- too much else I'm slacking off... I mean,
busily working, on. ^_-
Besides, I don't work like that, I need to formulate something more
substantial before I start to write (i.e. create the universe which Ryoko
is exploring). I need at least a couple of themes, basic story and plot
before I start jotting it down (yet I am willing to let it go where it
wants to, even if it isn't the direction I planned it to go).

Besides, somewhere along the line, she's going to figure out that she can
create the Radiant Hawk Wings too. That ought to make for an interesting
story on it's own. <Evil giggle>

A further part of her self-exploration, I suppose....
Well, I'd better stop before the swirling mass of half-formed ideas
engulfs me...

Enough of my blabbering. I liked the story.

Thanks!
