Okay, I give up.
I've been trying for a very long time to come up with a group of four
Magical Girls to go up against Missy Foxglove, but I've been stymied.
While I've gotten down some ideas about who the girls are
personality-wise, some of the other stuff is eluding me. So I'm
throwing it open. I'm looking for suggestions on:
1: The name of each girl.
2: An appropriate mahon-shojo codename (in Ingrish!)
3: Costume details, etc.
4: An overall name for the four.
Plus anything else you might think of.
The first girl is sixteen years old and has been a magical girl for much
longer than the others. She's very focussed and driven, and the others
usually follow her, partly because of her greater experience and partly
because her personality is so powerful. She's a crusader and a reformer
by nature, very idealistic, and she's turned her righteous wrath on the
Yakuza, primarily the Tsuneishi-gumi. This last is more by accident
than anything else; the four live in Maebashi, which is solidly
Tsuneishi's territory.
Her powers are based on heat/fire (representing passion).
The second girl is fourteen years old. She's a mathematical prodigy who
considers all other forms of knowlege to be, well, somewhat inferior.
She tends to see the world in rather rigid, formalistic terms, and
occasionally espouses a chilly pragmatism that infuriates her leader.
For example, the first girl has forbidden any of her followers allowing
anyone, even Yakuza, to be hurt, while the second girl finds this high
degree of concern for the lives of murderers to be, well, illogical.
Disagreements like this have lead to some unpleasant scenes between the
two.
Her powers are based on ice/cold (representing analysis).
The third girl, also fourteen, frequently finds herself mediating
between these two rather forceful people. She's a conventional girl
from a conventional family, so she tends to see both girls as being
selfish and insufficiently concerned with the harmony of the group.
Although she usually sides with her leader, (who is, after all, the
leader) her method of handling these spats is to offer compromise after
compromise until a settlement is reached.
Due to her personality, her powers should probably be protective in
nature, but I haven't been able to come up with a useful operative
metaphor.
The last girl is only thirteen. She has a sunny, playful disposition
and a droll wit which often defuses disagreements more quickly than the
third girl's earnest compromising. She is much liked by all the other
girls, who tend to baby her a little.
Her powers are based on light/color (representing playfulness). They
are, for the most part, harmless, but excellent for distracting or
confusing their enemies.
I'll probably go ahead and repost "Missy Foxglove -- Pilot" for those
who aren't familiar with it and want to know a little bit about the
world these characters inhabit.
