That was good, Robyn-san. Arigatou for the examples.

Also, there is no reason that a Halloween story even needs
to take place at Halloween. Any good scary story is good
for the Halloween experience. But if a fanfic author wants
their characters to "celebrate" Halloween, there's lots of
precedent from manga and anime for them to do so.

To expound upon the Maisen reference, if an author wishes to
have a Halloween story in their fic, they don't *have* to
call it "Halloween." In Maison, they called it Takeizaka's
(their town's) "Autumn Festival." Kyoko dressed up as a
Japanese ghost (who said "I'm envious" instead of "Boo!"),
the Master of the Cha-Cha Maru dressed up as a Mummy and
there were two party-goers who tried repeatedly to scare
everyone with the Frankenstein & Wolfman costumes they had
worked on all year. Many of the other characters dressed in
Japanese "festival" attire and Godai wore a Japanese costume
like Kyoko. (He was a "Neko-mata" or old cat, meaning a cat
which had grown old enough to attain magical powers.
Definitely not a western costume.)

So an author would have a great deal of freedom doing a
Halloweenish fic. It could take place any time during
autumn and mix and match western and eastern myths &
montsters all together as much as desired.
