I would disagree with the statement that Halloween is not "celabrated" in
Japan.
Like other cultural (Western) ideas (such as Col Sanders Doubling for
Santa) it is a bit different.
Of course it is dragged kicking and screaming (it's scary it's supposed
to scream!) from the mixed festvals Celtic Day of the Dead and Day of
Harvest to the rampant commercalism we of the West all know and love:)
I just wanted to post this so everyone would know that Anime at least has
accepted Halloween....
In one ep of Maralade Boy they have a Halloween party (not O-bon)
Where all the guests are actually PROVIDED with costumes by the host.!!!!
Who is by the way a Brat!
Everyone has on a rage of "traditional" spooky (and not so spooky)
costumes.
Yuu wears a Frankenstein mask
and Mikki is a cute (and boy do I mean cute!) li'l witch.
And as we further see in other episodes they do "traditional" things when
at the beach like going for spooky walks at night and scaring the crap out
of themselves.....(I forget the actual name of this)
You could even include a "haunted house" a-la Maison Ikkoku.
Of course the whole anime is whacked anyway -as at Christmas Yuu and
Mikki's parents dress up as reindeer, santa and a snowman (Frosty?).
This is NOT to be mistaken for O-bon which is more a festival of the
dead/rememberance.

I've been wondering- does Japan celeberate Halloween? I've been thinking about
writing a halloween fanfic based on an anime series...
Please email privately, not FFML to prevent spam, thanks.
I didn't consider this SPAM as it could concern anyone writing a fic
dealiong whith things bumping in the night :)
