Sorry, but I haven't been able to post stuff for about a day now, and
this is getting very, very annoying. Sorry Tybalt, but I cannot think of
another way to see if I just can't reach anyone, or is it just the list
in general.
Steps in seeing if your mail is working:
Send a message to yourself, and flush the mail out to your provider, then
pick up the mail.
If you get this back, then your local mail is working.
Next step, send a message something that will generate an automatic
response. majordomo@fanfic.com is a good one because if it responds, then
you've worked out that a) you can send mail to fanfic.com and b)
fanfic.com's mailing facilities are in fact working.
Next, and hopefully final step, is to attempt to subscribe to the mailing
list again, just in case the subscription list has been foobar'd. You
should know how to do this.
Sending an email to a mailing *list* will also generate an automatic
response... a number of responses. It will also inform the rest of the
mailing list that a) you haven't read the faq, b) you have no-one else
to email and c) start yet another annoying thread on the lines of 'sorry,
but I need to annoy everyone with this small useless post', 'idiot.'
The next time the FAQ gets sent out, print it out. You need it.
