This was going to be one my entrees for the bet, but since it's over I've
just decided to post it up. It's just an idea I got and couldn't get out of my
head. I have no time to work on it, so if someone want's to continue it let me
know.

The Bond

	"Hey what's going on!? Why don't it move!?" yelled Asuka as
she yanked on the controls. EVA unit 02 floated helplessly in the deep
blue water.
	"It's type B equipment." said Shinji.
	"Well do something!"
	"Umm what am I suppose to do?"
	"Well your the famous third child!" yelled Asuka. She then 
caught sight of the sixth angel coming towards them. Asuka yelped
as the angel opened it's mouth, revealing lots of sharp nasty looking 
teeth. Both Asuka and Shinji screamed in pain at the feeling of the
angels teeth biting down onto unit 02. Then there was blackness.
	Inside the angels mouth the eyes of EVA unit 02 flared. That's
when all hell broke loose.

			*****

	"Asuka! Shinji! Come in! What's going on!?" Yelled Misato.
They had just lost contact with unit 02. Misato could then see the 
sixth angel burst out of the water again. Something seemed wrong 
with it however.
	"Ah Major?" asked one of the bridge crew, who was monitoring
the EVAs power functions.
	"What?"
	"I-I don't know what any of these other things mean. 
Does SYNC:200% mean anything important?"
	"Im-Impossible!"
	Blood and bits of angel went flying everywhere as unit 02
burst from the angel. Roaring, unit 02 began tearing the angel apart, 
clawing and biting it.
	"What the hell!?" said Misato. Her face then paled as she realized
that the EVA wasn't biting the angel. It was...
	"It-It's EATING the angel?" said a sicken Toji. Unit 02 was 
feeding on the floating corpse of the sixth angel. After a while the unit
stopped eating and seemed to power down.
	"Reel it back in." said Misato.
	"Are you crazy!?" yelled the Admiral in charge of the UN fleet. 
He couldn't believe his fleet had been carrying that THING.
	"Damnit do it! I want the pilots out of there!" Reluctantly the
Admiral agreed to reel unit 02 back onto the aircraft carrier. About a
half hour later, the unconscious pilots were removed from the entry plug.

	Shinji and Asuka laid on bunks in the aircraft carrier's medical
bay. At once both Shinji's and Asuka's eyes opened. The two pilots
sat up and started looking around. They then looked at each other.
Asuka then got out of bed and hugged Shinji.
	"I-I'm sorry...I'm sorry."
	"It's okay. You didn't know that would happen." said Shinji 
stroking Asuka hair.
	"Am I interrupting something here?"
	The two pilots let go of each other and looked at Misato.
At the same time they replied. "No ma'am."
	Misato blinked, a little surprised at there answer. She had at
least expected Asuka to blow her top. "Umm are you guys okay?"
	"Yes, ma'am" answered Asuka and Shinji. Again at the same
time.
	"Umm right. Well get your stuff together, we're almost at the
port. Oh and Shinji, I want all the details about what you and Asuka
were doing just now."
	"Give it a rest Misato, or else I'll give Kaji your address and 
phone number." said Shinji walking past her.
	"Hey! Wait one minute!" Yelled Misato. *Since when did he
get so cocky?*
	
			*****

	"Hmm interesting. So they both reached 200% huh?" said 
Ritsuko looking at the data from the recent battle. She had met Misato
at the port.
	"You make it sound like no surprise." said Misato.
	"Well at least they didn't reach 400..."
	"You mean it can get higher!?"
	Ritsuko cursed at the way she forgot herself. "Ah yes, but it
isn't a good thing.."
	"Oh? What would happen if a pilot reached 400%?"
	"That's classified."
	"Oh really? Well I'm calling the school tomorrow to let them
know that Shinji and Asuka won't be in there. I want you to do some
test on them. I think whatever's happened has had an effect on them."
	Ritsuko looked at Misato. "What kind of effect?"
	"I don't know. They just seem....different." said Misato as she
watched the two pilots walk, in step with each other, to the jeep.

	Shinji laid on his futon looking up at the ceiling. It was one
in the morning and he couldn't sleep. He kept thinking of the battle and
of the images he saw in unit 02. The images of Asuka's mother. Of her
mother going insane and hanging herself. Images of her father abandoning
Asuka to marry another woman. Shinji didn't know Asuka had a life
just as bad as his. He then heard a knock at the apartment door.
	Shinji got up to answer it, Misato having gotten herself drunk
and probably not hearing it. Opening the door, he saw Asuka in shorts
and a T-shirt. She looked at him nervously.
	"S-Shinji....I...I couldn't.." Shinji mirly nodded his head and let
Asuka in. Shinji lead her to his room even though he was sure she already
knew the way. Laying down on his futon, they both quickly went to 
sleep.

			*****

	The next morning Misato looked down at the two sleeping
children shaking. It didn't matter that they still had their cloths on, 
the fact remained that Asuka was sleeping with Shinji in the same 
futon. Taking a deep breath Misato yelled. "WAKE UP!!"
	Both Shinji and Asuka opened their eyes. Sitting up they 
blinked at the angry Misato.
	"Well, do you two have an explanation for this?"
	"We couldn't sleep." Replied the two children.
	"Will you two stop that!!" Yelled Misato, their stereo replies
was beginning to get her.
	"Stop what?" They replied.
	Misato put her hand to her face. "Nevermind. Asuka, to the
kitchen NOW. Shinji, get dressed your not going to school today.
We're going to headquarters."
	Asuka looked at Shinji for a moment before getting up and
walking to the kitchen. Misato followed Asuka, leaving Shinji to get 
dressed. Going to the kitchen, Misato sat in front of Asuka at the
table. Looking Asuka in the eye, Misato asked.
	"Asuka, what is going on with you and Shinji?"
	Asuka looked at the captain and sighed.
	"Well, when we were underwater and the angel bite unit 02,
we blacked out. During that time we.....merged."
	"Merged?"
	"Ah yes. I saw all of Shinji's memories and he saw mine. I 
felt all his pains, his fears, his joys and hopes. He felt mine to."
	"Wait, you saw all of his memories?"
	"Yes, I saw how his father abandon him. I saw how the 
bastard used Rei to blackmail Shinji into piloting unit 01. I saw that
punk Toji beat Shinji up. I saw how last Wednesday you got so 
drunk that you threw up and pissed all over your.."
	"I get the point!"
	"I need Shinji now. I need to feel him close to me. That's why
I came here. I couldn't sleep separated from him and neither could he."
Asuka then looked over at the kitchen entrance. "Shinji's ready now." 
	No sooner had she said that then had shinji emerged from his
room fully dressed. Looking between the two Misato sighed. "All
right. Let's go."

			*****

	"I don't get it. Their sync ratios should be higher than this."
Said Ritsuko looking at monitor. "Asuka, Shinji, neither of you are 
passing 30%! That's barily enough to make an EVA move."
	[We're trying!] said the pilots at the same time.
	"If they don't get better, we're going to need some new EVA
pilots."
	[Umm Dr. Akagi, could you let us out for a moment.] said
Shinji.
	[We want to try something.] Asuka finished.
	Ritsuko looked at Misato, who just shrugged. "all right raise the
plugs."
	Once the test plugs were raised out of the LCL Asuka climbed
out of hers. She then went over to Shinji's and climbed in. Rei looked
at this curiously. She wondered why she felt jealous of Asuka. *Am
I jeolous?* She had never really felt the emotion before so she wasn't
sure.
	[OK we're ready to try agian.]
	"Lower the plugs again." said Ritsuko.
	"Beginning test. Sync ratio at 60% and raising!...70%...80%...
90%....Sync level holding at 94%!" said Maya. Misato whistled.
	"Doctor, you better have a look at this." said Hyuga.
	"What is it?"
	"There life signs, they're all the same. Breathing, Heart rate,
brain impulses. They're all the same and they're in perfect sync with 
each other.
	"I guess Asuka was right, they really do need each other. We're
going to need a tandem cockpit." said Misato.
	"Yes, and we're still going to need a new pilot."

NOTES:
	So what do we have. We have an Asuka who's calm and nicer.
We have a Shinji with more backbone. Both linked to each other.
Both have received some of the other's skills. (Asuka finds she can 
now play the chello. Shinji finds he can speak German. etc.) Both
also know more about the other than they ever cared to.

Shinji and Asuka still argue. "I think we should pilot my unit 02.""I 
think we should pilot unit 01."

Toji becomes a pilot for the left over unit.

Gendo isn't too concerned about what is happening. Although he doesn't
know what to make of Asuka's hostility towards him.

This changes however when Hikari is chosen as the pilot of unit 03.
When unit 03 is taken over by the 13th angel, Gendo orders Shinji
and Asuka to destroy the unit. Our heroes however want to rescue
the pilot first. Gendo is really put off when it's found that Asuka's and
Shinji's duel minds can override the dummy plug system. Hikari is saved.

Then there's Asuka and Shinji trapped together in the 12th angel and
inside unit 01.

And what happens when they face the mind raping 15th angel.
