I dunno why. Is 'just because' a good enough answer?

I envy Ranma. He has everything, and what do I have? Nothing. I
envy him.
Ranma has a family, has a father and the Tendos-- people who
care for him. I can't remember the last time I saw my family. Heck,
Ranma once tricked me into believing I had a younger sister; he
could have been right, I actually could have a sister and literally
not know about her. I envy him.
Everyone wants Ranma. He has more than one fiancee, for crying
out loud! Everyone at his school repects him, looks up to him, are
in awe of him for what he can do. He gets all the girls, and what
do I have? No one wants me, only as little P-chan do I get any
attention, am I really liked.
I hate my curse, hate it hate it hate it hate it with a passion
that dwarfs the sun. Do you know how hard it is on the road when
you're considered lunch by people or animals half the time? Ranma's
lucky! I'd take his curse in an instant, in less than an instant!
He's still human, he still has hands, can defend himself, can talk
to others. How can life be so unfair? Damn him, his girl body is
even cuter than that of most girls! He doesn't know how good he's
got it.
I'm not even going to mention my sense of direction. Ranma's
got it all, and he doesn't even know it. I hate him, envy him, want
him dead because of what he's done to me. But most of all, and this
is what really hurts the most when I think about it, most of all I
want to be Ranma.

Ryouga doesn't realise how good he's got it. Always whining
about how his life sucks, and how I've done this and that to him
and how dare I act this way and all that crap-- bah, makes me sick.
You think I wanted this? Any of it? You think I really wanted
to get engaged to anyone? You think I wanted to get engaged to
Akane, Shampoo and Ukyo (I ain't even gonna mention Kodachi)? How
insane do you think I really am, anyway?
I'd love to be Ryouga. His curse? Don't gimme a joke, he's
still male. Do you know what it's like? I could take any curse but
this one, so close to being me, but that just makes the differences
even worse. Besides, I'm a guy, a guy, right? I'm supposed to be a
man amongst men, right? Then why do I got tits?
I envy Ryouga I envy him I envy him I envy him. He doesn't have
anything to tie him down, no responsibilities, no family (for that
alone I envy him more than you could believe!), nothing to chain
him down at all.
Henh. Ryouga's an idiot. His feet know more than he does. He's
got true traveller's feet. A good traveller has no fixed plans and
is not intent on arriving. Truer words than that were never spoken.
Lao tzu knew what it meant to be a real traveller. I know what it
means. Even Ryouga's feet know. Only Ryouga doesn't, he doesn't
have the wandering soul. I hate this, not being on the road, not
seeing new things or places. I hate being in this unchangable place
with its routine and sameness and I want to go somewhere want to go
want to go want to go and I can't because I've got people tying me
down here and keeping me from doing what I want.
He doesn't know how good he's got it. I hate to hear him bitch
and complain about how rough his life is, how I ruined everything,
how his life sucks, an' all that jazz. Grates on my nerves, it
does, so I just gotta rile him up a bit, right?
You wouldn't hear me complainin' if I was in Ryouga's position,
I tell ya.
Author's notes: Going to be small, since this was small, too.
Lao tzu (570-490 B.C.) is accredited with the words Ranma quoted,
"A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on leaving."
As an aside, I'm debating whether or not to put out a revision to
Soul of Ice: Point (I kinda like it the way it is. Another version
exists, but I'm not sure if I like this new one more).

"Yes," Ranma said
One word, one tiny insignificant little word, yet it
would make all the difference.
