Now, presenting Harnum's HaM Commentary... Part Three in a series.
Sponsored by Purina Puppy Chow, and Panglossian Pessimist Society of
Western Canada.
Wazzat... do they go around claiming that everything is the worst of
all possible worlds? Where's my local branch?
Wherever it's least convenient for it to be.
Actually, they're the people who believe in the following:
- This is the best of all possible worlds.
- Life really sucks.
- Therefore, the other worlds must be even worse. How depressing!
Five years (even three years, counting from 1998 and assuming HaM takes
place in 2001) is a pretty long time in computer terms.
Actually, it's even longer than that. HaM has been moved up to a time
seven years after the end of the manga. (I needed to do so in order that
the kiddies can be as old as they are in the series.)
As for Gos' computer, I picked a model that the readers would recognize
as being less than state of the art. It is admittedly likely that a
better one would be easily and cheaply available, so I'll think about
changing it.
