I haven't seen a fic with this sort of idea before.

I've seen an episode of the TV series 'Sliders' that had the cast drop into
a world where almost all the men were wiped out by a bio-weapon, kind of
like what the author is doing here, the remaining male population were put
into breeding centers. There's also an uncompleted fic that used identical
elements to this fic. It was posted a while ago.

Maybe because that notion that Iraq could have this kind of bio-weapon is
not a SMALL change. It's not impossible, given the fact that their chief of
biowarfare research is a woman.
