In an earlier message, I talked a little about apostrophes in the
Wade-Giles system of transliteration, and how to transliterate the
name of a certain discipline.  I should have been more disciplined
myself, as I left out an apostrophe.  (I did it twice, in fact.)

It's "t'ai chi ch'uan," abbreviated "t'ai chi."

I should hope that you're embarassed! Tai ch'i is NOT an abbreviation of 
tai ch'i ch'uan. There are four different discipines of tai ch'i of 
which ch'uan is one. Ch'uan discipline was created from taoist tai ch'i 
by a chinese emperor to use in battle. Ch'uan discipline uses the basic 
moves of tao discipline and weapons to create its style. Tao discipline 
is the original set of 104 different moves that is used in this "moving 
meditation." Please get your facts straight.
