In this series, and in Tales of Younger Venus too, I keep waiting for
someone to come around to Sako and tell her she has to do such-and-such to
fix the timeline, putting the original one, the one that she left at the
beginning of Tales of Younger Jupiter, back in place. Misako only exists in
the altered timeline. So does Sako's marriage and child. What happened to
the Sako and Chibi Usa of the revised timeline when the Sako and Chibi Usa
of the original timeline showed up in the revised one?
Well, there's only one way that the original timeline could be put back
into place. Pluto would have to stop Sako from going back into the past.
Take Kimeko from Chapter 20. She is essentially the same Kimeko, except
she's going into a different future. One the overlays the one before it. I
suspect Pluto could reach a different timeline if she really had to. I
think of it as a tree. The truk is the past and with each timeline
variation either a twig or branch is formed depending upon the significance
of the change. There is only one "main" branch. Everytime that future
shifts that timeline becomes the dominant one. Pluto could theoretically
travel to different timelines but the characters only have one possible
timeline to travel in, not multiple ones. At least that's how I view the
timetravel aspect.
Hope this helps.
