  This story will be very similar to the one MetroAnime sent out, though I've come up with some ideas to tweak it slightly. Hopefully this will help to improve it, or at least make it even more interesting.
=======================================================

     Ranma, totally focused on the running panda in front of him, crashed into the young man standing in his way. The two of them fought for their palance, but the crumbling ledge proved to be their undoing as they tumbled over the edge of the cliff that they were standing on, overlooking Jusenkyo. As some of you may know, the young man, Ryouga Hibiki, is possessed of one of this worlds worst senses of direction. This sense allows him to somehow travel across great distances, sometimes even over water, without realizing it. Add to this, the fact that magic is a force of chaos, and Jusenkyo is a place of such intense magic, that the very ground appears to be cursed in some way. The result of this is that Ranma and Ryouga never reached the ground of Jusenkyo, but rather, became lost as they fell. Falling on the ground in a faraway land.
     Genma, the panda that Ranma had been chasing, looked over the edge where his son/daughter and the stranger had fallen. They were nowhere to be seen. The realization that his son turned daughter quickly hit Genma, followed closely by the certainty that his wife would not be happy about his loosing their son. In fact, their may have even been a provision in the promise they had made about this very event. At the very least, the best he could expect would be time spent in the panda breeding program. Though, knowing how much Nodoka was definitely 'not' going to like this event, the 'death of a thousand cuts' seemed more likely. Genma began to wander back to the hut of the Jusenkyo Guide. <Maybe he'll know something.> Genma thought.

              *            *           *

     "Ranma!" Ryouga yelled. But it was too late. The warriors who had been attacking them, had been able
to sneak up on Ranma and hit him from behind. The energy blasts they had been firing had thrown Ranma over the edge of a cliff. He . . . Ranma . . . Ryouga's best friend, was gone.
     Ryouga pulled off several of his bandannas and began to twirl them, as he performed the Iron Cloth technique that would make them into razor sharp daggers. <I will avenge you my friend.> He thought.

     On the rocky ground at the base of the cliff, the burnned and bloody body of Ranma Saotome lay. It would take a keen eye to notice the slow and shallow movement of his chest as he breathed. The cliff wall nearest to him began to shimmer, and from it emerged an armored figure. It stood beside the bloody body, and then it, and Ranma, vanished.

Years later-

     Ranma started at the seven dragonballs as he brought them together. For a moment, nothing happend. Then, with a crack and roar like lightning, Shen Long appeared.
     "WHAT IS YOUR WISH?" the great dragon asked. Ranma frowned. It was hard to tell with a dragon, but was Shen Long . . . laughing?
     "I wish that I was home, shortly after I left." Ranma said.
     "GRANTED!" Goku and his friends watched as Ranma and the dragon both vanished, and the dragonballs flew off in separate directions. He then cocked an ear. There was the faintest hint of a chuckle, floating through the breeze.

--Nerima, Japan--
     Akane awoke as if someone had thrown a bucket of cold water on her. She looked around . . . nothing was out of place. Everything was as it should be. Akane settled back into her bed, never noticing the shadow that slipped away, out her open window.

--Jusenkyo Valley, China--
     A dust devil swirled in the middle of the road, and out of it stepped a man, wearing chinese style clothing, and carrying a backpack. From his appearance, one would have believed the man was somewhere in his late teens. That is, until they looked into his eyes. They were the eyes of someone who had seen and experienced more than his apparent age suggested. His eyes widened as he saw the panda standing in front of him. The panda stared in surprise.
     "Pops, is that you?" Ranma asked. His eyes misted over. His father may have been a continuious pain, but it had been years, enough time to make many of the old angers and pains fade. The panda, Genma Saotome, nodded, his eyes bulging out of their sockets. He quickly pulled out a sign.
     ["Where've you been for the past week, son?"] It read.
     Ranma shook his head. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Pop. It's a looong story."
     The panda held up another sign. ["Tell me about it someother time then. We're late as it is."]
     "Where' we going?"
     ["An old friend's house."]

          *          *         *

     "That must be them." Nabiki said.
     "Saotome, my old friend!" Soun cried
     Nabiki and her father quickly ran to the front door.
     "I do hope that he isn't younger than me." Kasumi muttered, while Akane simply followed the others in a sullen silence. They were surprised to see Nabiki and Soun quicly backing away from the door. Following them was a large panda, and a young man.
     "Oh my!" Kasumi said. The young man wasn't 'that' young at all. He was even quite handsome, though there was an . . . odd look to him.
     "Ah, you wouldn't happen to be . . ."
     "I am Ranma Saotome, of the Anything Goes-Indisriminate Grappling School of Martial Arts." Ranma bowed.

              *           *           *

     "So let me get this straight," Ranma said. "I've been engaged to be married to one of these three young women, in order to preserve the family martial arts school?" Genma, now back in human form, and Soun Tendo, Genma's old friend, both nodded. Ranma turned to the three kneeling Tendo sisters, and used his training to feel their chi-auras. Kasumi, the oldest, had a very high chi aura, especially for a human not practicing any martial arts, though her strength levels were only average, and Ranma thought he detected some weak empathic emanations from her. Obviously a homemaker, a nurturer, not a warrior. Nabiki, the middle sister, had a higher strength level, but less chi, though her chi level was still well above average. From the look in her eyes, he guessed that Nabiki had a fairly high intelligence. Akane, the third and youngest sister, had a much higher strength level, and about an equal amount of chi as Nabiki. However, Ranma could feel a burning anger radiating from her. All three were quite attractive, but there was still that 'other matter' to mention.
     "Before we get into that, there is something I need to mention to you. Kasumi-chan, will you get me some glasses, on with hot water, the other with cold?" Kasumi blushed as she quickly went into the kitchen. Ranma noticed this. <Damn, did I just insult her? It's been so long that I've forgotten alot of Japanese customs.>
     Nabiki was intrigued at this. Sure the guy was handsome, but Kasumi was the kind of person who could go through an earthquake during a hurricane and not miss a step. <So, I might have some competition on this engagement thing.> Nabiki was very attracted to Ranma. It was obvious he wasn't just another 'dumb jock' but had a brain other than his muscles. The fact that he had a great body didn't hurt either. She knew that with a body like hers, and her brain, she made a package that most guys would like. However, Kasumi was a nice looking young woman too, and some people did find the housewife bit extremly attractive. Just then, her thoughts were interuppted by Kasumi with the water. Ranma put the glass of hot water on the table in front of him, while he poured the glass of cold water over his head.
     "You see, my father wasn't the only one to get a curse at Jusenkyo." Ranma said in his much higher voice.

     So, how do you like it so far? You should know that this isn't the Ranma you are familiar with. He's traveled to other worlds, and other dimensions. He's almost as old as Happosai and Cologne, and has spent a few months training in the DragonBall Z universe. So, while Ranma isn't a powerhouse, capable of destroying the planet with ease, he 'is' more than capable of destroying any mountain in his way. He as also picked up techniques from across the cosmos. Combine that, with Ranma's now supertrained adaptablity, and hundreds of years of experience, and you have a force that makes you 'wish' for a Saiyin to attack you. Nah.
     On another note, I've got an idea for another Ranma series. In this series, the Tendos are actually a family of demons, who are also demigods. Gives a whole new meaning to Soun's Demon Head attack, doesn't it? Ranma is a warrior-mage-priest, who is a descendent of the gods. Ranma and one of the Tendo sisters (may change name to Shinma, or something similar.) must marry as the will of the gods to join human, demon, and god bloodlines. This will supposedly bring about a golden age. Don't know when I'm going to have time to do this, but one of these days.
