Good question. I can't recall seeing anyone getting
splashed in the manga, but can tell you this:
Mousse brought Spring of Drowned Duck water to Nerima,
and attempted to curse Ranma/Akane with it. Evidently,
he believed that the effects would be permanent.
We _do_ have a partial answer to this question...
Taro has his original cursed form that he got when Happosai dunked him
in
the pool as a baby. After Taro's initial introduction to the Ranma
cast,
he went back and added octopus water to his back. This gave him his
octopus tentacles that could squirt ink.
Just as a note...this is fanfic convention. It is almost certainly NOT
correct that Tarou only splashed his back with spring of drowned
octopus...not only do we never see him do this, but his new cursed form
not only has tentacles, but can shoot ink from it's -fingers-.
Also, there was the occation when Taro came by with what turned out to
be
Water of Drowned Twins. This water was accidentally dropped onto
Happosai. Well, just a drop anyways. The drop fell onto a bump on his
head and became two bumps. In the same story, the water was dropped
onto
a bird, which became two.
<nod> It seems you need a reasonable amount of water for the curse to
take full effect, but how much this is is not really known. However,
one can assume that all the animals Mousse turned into ducks have a
permanent curse; thus you do not need to be completely immersed, but you
do need more than just a couple of drops.
