Hello.

I will first say in my defense that I did check my facts before
posting to the FFML by using Merriam Wedster's Collegiate Dictionary
Tenth Edition. When I used the words black and white. Did I use the
word paint. No I did not. So check the meanings of words before you
post your opinions on the FFML. Sorry for the spam. Thank you.

Umm, buddy-boy, The conversation's original topic was on the subject of
light color, not paint.  The metaphor was light.  It was always light.  It
will always be light.  Don't confuse paint with light.  Paint and light
are... well... NOT THE SAME!

Let's see.  White is all colors -- in light.  The sun, for example,
produces light throughout our visible spectrum.  The sun, thus, seems
white when we look at it.  This is because light is subtractive in nature.
The more colors you subtract, the closer to black you get.

Paint and ink and such are additive.  The more colors you add, the closer
to black you get.  So, in the paint metaphor, a DARK fic would have MORE
elements (which the original poster used colors to represent) than normal,
lighter fics.  In the light metaphor, a DARK fic is missing certain
elements (colors), and is thus closer to black.

Might I suggest upgrading to an encyclopedia set?
