"Oof, when did you get so heavy?"

The sound of a slipper hitting flesh filled the hallway as a doorknob
jiggled. "I hate these card things," a man growled, and finally the
door swung open. He tottered through the doorway, his arms full of a
petite young woman, and just barely missed smashing her feet into the
door jam. She giggled as he corrected his path and swaying from side
to side from the effort. He groaned, "Hotaru, I think you might have
had too much cake..."

Hotaru hit him again on the shouder with her black slippers and he grimaced.
"If that's the way you want it then...." He abruptly let go and she fell
to the floor.

Laughing, she swatted at his shins. "You're just too weak to handle
a woman like me." She laughed again at the outrage on her husband's face
and leaping to her feet, she grabbed his head with both her hands and
kissed him deeply.

Sean kissed her back, with equal fervor. Since his arrival in Crystal
Tokyo almost three decades ago, Sean Gaffney never felt like he belonged.
Part of this was because he truly *didn't* belong, being from a different
time and a different universe. But the other part was that he felt
that he was the perpetual outsider, never having understood the reason
for the happiness that everyone in Crystal Tokyo lived with every day.
Until now.

Until that fateful day when he rescued a newborn child from certain
death, only to have that child, the reincarnated Saturn, grow up
within the span of two days and save his life in return. And along
the way they fell in love and finally, he understood what it meant to
be happy.

He held her tightly, not wanting to let go, his hands roaming across
her back, trying to convince himself that she was real and she was his.
Seeming to sense his mood, Hotaru clung to him, her hands girding his
waist, hovering just under the small of his back. She broke off the kiss
and smiled. "I love you, Sean."

A grin broke out all over his face. "I love you too, Hotaru. Now and
always." He looked around at the hotel room and whistled through his
teeth. "Man, when Haruka and Michiru say they're giving us a present,
they really go all out, don't they?" The peach and cream colored
room was softly lit with the light of about fifty candles, interspersed
throughout the room in elegant crystal candle holders. A bottle of
champagne lay chilling in a silver bucket, beside a roaring fireplace.
White roses in a crystal vase stood to the other side, next to two
elegantly crafted crystal champagne flutes. Sean nodded over to the
champagne. "Shall I pour?"

"Be my guest," Hotaru smiled. "I'll just change out of my traveling suit,
and we can have it by the fireplace."

"Have what? The champagne, or...?"

Hotaru smiled broadly, a siren's smile crinkling the corners of her
eyes. "Both."

Sean gulped as she laughed, and strode off to the washroom. To tell the
truth, he was scared spitless at the thought of what they were about
to do tonight. Even though Hotaru was over 3,000 years old in spirit,
she was chronologically six months old. And in all of her incarnations,
she was also a virgin. He ran his fingers through his hair, rumpling
it wildly. And if he wanted to be even more truthful, he'd have to admit
that even though he wasn't a virgin, he hadn't had sex in over twenty-five
years. "It's 'Technical Virginity' all over again," he muttered, popping
the cork free from the bottle and pouring the champagne. What if she
didn't like it? What if he was horrible? All the first time jitters
he thought he'd never have to go through again came pounding back in
full force.  True enough, it wasn't like she was a complete innocent;
but he had wanted their first time to be after marriage. She reluctantly
agreed, and so they kept their kisses passionate, their caresses arousing,
but always he stopped them when he felt they were getting too intimate.

"Damn, that was a stupid thing to do," he swore, flopping down on the
couch in front of the fireplace.

"What was a stupid thing to do?" Hotaru asked. He turned and his jaw
dropped open. Hotaru was one of those people who could never *ever*
wear white beautifully, but she seemed to have compensated by choosing
a lavendar negligee. The small spaghetti straps held the heart-shaped
bodice achingly low, revealing the tops of her small breasts. The
silken fabric clung loosely to her body, revealing everything and nothing
at the same time. It came to about mid-thigh, leaving her legs
bare. She sauntered over to him and taking a flute from his slackened
hand, she sank down gracefully to sit on the peach throw rug in front
of the fireplace. He wordlessly sank down next to her and stared.
"Aren't you going to say anything?"

Sean closed his gaping mouth and grinned. "I'm afraid that if I do,
my tongue's going to fall out of my head." He quickly recovered
and raising his glass to her, he murmured, "To you, Hotaru, the one
true love of my life."

"And to you, Sean, my best friend, my husband... my lover." They sipped
from their glasses with the love shining in their eyes. Slowly,
his hand found his way to hers and he caressed her fingers, and setting
down his glass, he took her slender wrist and raised it to his lips.
He kissed her wrist slowly, his lips slightly open, then kissed her again,
higher up on her arm until he reached that lavendar strap. Shuddering,
he moved it aside so he could kiss her shoulder, then her neck, then her
lips.

Hotaru closed her eyes, savoring the sensations that Sean was eliciting
in her. When he kissed her, she threw her arms around him, and pulled
him closer to her, so she could feel his body next to hers. He shuddered
and sighed, running his fingers through her hair, whispering her name.

They undressed each other, the weeks of pent-up passion forgotten in
the heat of the moment. When Sean touched Hotaru's bare breasts for the
first time, they both sighed. She, in turn, unbuttoned his shirt and
ran her fingernails up his flanks, making him shiver again. A web of
lassitude was spun around them, their caresses and kisses languidly slow,
as they delighted in the touch of each other's bodies. When Sean pulled
back to get something out of his pocket, Hotaru forestalled him. "There's
no need for that... we *do* have the Pill in the 30th century, you know."

Sean smiled, "One of the better inventions of the 20th century." Laughing,
he took her in his arms again, saying, "It just wouldn't do to knock
up a senshi on the first night, would it?"

Hotaru laughed too, and Sean smiled as he bent his head to her breasts,
claiming them once more. He kissed first one, then the other, running
his hands over her skin, pushing the negligee past her hips, helping
her out of her tiny lavendar panties. Shrugging off the rest of his own
clothing, he turned to see her staring at him. "What? Haven't you seen
a naked man before?"

Hotaru cocked her head at her husband. "Actually, I did, sometime in
the Silver Millenium. It was a stripper at Ami's bachelorette party,
and if I remember correctly, he was much more--" She squealed as he
pounced on her, grinning wolfishly at her. "Maybe I don't remember
much."

He nodded his head. "I'm sure you don't. And I'm gonna make sure
that I'm the only man you'll ever remember." With that, he lowered his
head down to her stomach, kissing her belly button, down lower still,
her contented sighs turning to gasps, reaching the soft skin of her
inner thighs as he nibbled on them, hearing a soft alarm go off in the
vicinity of Hotaru's purse....

An alarm? Sean lifted his head, turning and hearing the unmistakable
sounds of a beeper going off. Hotaru scrambled to her feet, and digging
through her purse, she clicked open the small compact. The screen
cleared to show Rei.

"Hotaru? Thank the gods I got a hold of you. Listen, we're having some
trouble in the outskirts of Crystal Tokyo." Rei looked back behind
her, and she started to speak more quickly. "It seems as if there were
some undisturbed youma eggs out in the countryside and they've hatched."
The sounds of Senshi Jupiter letting off one of her lightning attacks
filled the speakers of the communicator. "The Inner Senshi have just
joined the fight, but it's still pretty much uneven, because Michiru's
still on maternity leave." Rei gulped. "Serenity didn't want me to call
you but we have no choice. We need you, Senshi Saturn."

Hotaru nodded brusquely. "I'm on my way." She turned to Sean, who
was still on the floor. She rumaged through her purse again, finding
her henshin stick. She lifted it high over her head and called out,
"Saturn Power Make-Up!" When the winds of transformation had
died down, she blew a kiss to her husband. "I'll be back soon,
I promise!" Then, she teleported out of the hotel room, leaving Sean
gasping for breath. He blinked once, just to make sure that she was
really gone, and sighed. Picking up his glass, he drained it,
and stared deep into the fire. " 'Sure, we should wait before
we make love.' A real stupid thing to do, Sean," he
muttered darkly.

**************************************

Sean laughed, dragging himself out of the ocean, watching Hotaru run ahead
of him beating him to their blankets. She sunk down, vigorously rubbing her
legs and arms with a towel. "It wasn't that cold, was it?" she asked,
grinning up into his face.

He grimaced. "If you could only know what cold water can do to a man."
He briskly toweled himself down, looking out at the ocean. "This is fan-
tastic. I didn't know there was a beachfront."

"That's because you didn't bother to find out," she said, poking him lightly
on the nose. "I heard about it from Minako. Seems as if she and a 'friend'
found it by accident some time ago." She gave him a wink. "She said it was
perfectly secluded and free from any kinds of intrusion."

"Indeed." If only it was also free from senshi intervention as well. Sean
sighed and lay back on the towel, rubbing sunblock lotion into his arms.

"Why are you doing that? Don't you want to get tanned?" Hotaru asked.

"Nope, gotta keep up my ghostly complexion." After she hit him, he smiled.
"Actually, I burn very easily."

"Me, too." Hotaru gave him a lidded glance and turning around, she deftly
untied her bikini top and lay face down on the blanket. "Could you get my
back please?"

Sean gulped. After the fight, Saturn came back and without even bothering
to transform back, she climbed wearily into bed. Sean tucked her in like
he used to when she was four and climbing in next to her, he lay awake
the whole night. When they awoke, she had to go back to headquarters to
be debriefed by Venus and informed of the game plan concerning the new
youma threat in the outlands. Venus told Saturn that it was not a concern
of hers, that she should just go back to her honeymoon and the rest of the
senshi would handle the threat, effectively dismissing her. This did not
sit well with Saturn. For an entire day afterwards, Sean had to listen to
her angry rants about how the rest of the senshi were still treating her
like a baby, like an unpredictable element. How she was fully capable of
taking care of any business that needed to be taken care of without
awakening the dark powers within her.

Sean just sighed through it all, holding her hand and agreeing with her, at
the same time wondering if he'd ever be able to capture that feeling they
shared together on their wedding night. Wedding night, hah! That was no
more a wedding night than Bob Barker inviting young girls up to his room to
spin his big wheel... He thought he'd never be able to get close to her
again, until Hotaru suggested this little trip to the seaside.

Sean grinned. It was the best idea he'd heard of in over 30 years. The
quiet cove charmed him, with its sapphire colored sea and the pristine white
beach. Palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze coming off from the sea and
the beach was free from the annoying sea gulls that thronged on the beaches
back in the 20th century. They had played in the water, and now, it seemed
that Hotaru wanted to play in the sand. Well, he thought, I guess I'm going
to have to oblige her.

Sean slicked up his hands with the sunblock and placed them gently on her
back. Hotaru shuddered, and he began to move his hands in slow circular
motions. Down the curve of her back, hovering over her waistband, up her
sleek sides, just barely brushing against the side of her breast... Sean
closed his eyes and felt a familiar longing in his heart, and a gentle
pressure in his groin. He began to straddle her, trying to keep his weight
off of her as he massaged her shoulders and caressed her neck, all the while
becoming more and more aroused by the touch of her skin.

Hotaru moaned, wriggling in place, her delicious rump teasing him with
its motion. He grinned and gave her a pinch. She squealed and reached back
to slap his hand away. Capturing her hand, Sean kissed it lovingly, sucking
gently at the inside of her palm. He murmured against her skin, "Turn over."

Hotaru turned over, exposing her small breasts to his heated gaze. He
reached out to touch them, brushing his thumbs over the pointed buds. Hotaru
moaned, and reaching out, she took one of his hands and sucked on his thumb.

Sean reeled from that simple gesture, feeling Hotaru's tongue swirling
around his thumb. He could feel himself become fully erect now, twitching
with impatience. He wanted to tear off her clothing and ravish her on
the beach, but he didn't want to frighten her. Instead, he lay on top of her,
feeling her breasts squash beneath his chest, his manhood resting between
her legs. "Are you sure you want to do this now?" he asked her softly.

"I'm more ready that I ever have been," Hotaru answered, her hand brushing
against his cheek. And she proved it by shifting her hips upwards, rubbing
her mons against his member. She wrapped her legs around his and started to
move her pelvis against his, all the while kissing him on the neck and
shoulders.

Sean resisted the urge to just tear off her bikini bottom and plunge deep
into her. He didn't want to lose control and embarass either of them.
Most importantly, and a bit selfishly, he realized, he didn't want to climax
before she did. So he pulled back a little and kissed her breasts, swirling
his tongue around her nipple the same way she was doing to his thumb. Hotaru
moaned beneath him and wound her arms around his neck and sighed into his
mouth. Together, they started to move simultaneously, Hotaru clinging to
his neck, his arms wrapped around her shoulders as they moved as one.

Then, just as he was about to take away that last barrier of clothing
that separated them, a familiar and unwelcome beeping sound emanated from
somewhere nearby. Sean kissed Hotaru frantically, willing her not to hear
the sound. She, in turn, pushed at his chest and finally flipped him off
of her. She stumbled towards her bag and fumbled at the compact. "What
do you want?" she demanded of the compact.

Venus replied wryly, "Well, you wanted your chance to kick some youma butt,
here it is. Michiru's having complications with the baby and Haruka's
with her at the hospital. That leaves a hole in the lineup. We need
you to come with us now to where we think the eggs are hatching."

Sean tugged at her arm, kissing it desperately. Hotaru shrugged him off,
and stunned he watched her tell Venus that she would be there, and trans-
forming, she teleported out of the cove.

Sean stared at the spot where his Hotaru disappeared. He laughed long
and bitterly, remembering their aborted wedding night, and now their
aborted love-making. Then, removing his trunks, he ran and plunged into the
cold water, hoping that it would banish the thoughts of his love.

**********************************

Hotaru was not stupid. She had a soul that was over 3,000 years old.
It was guided her through her worst times, promising her that things would
indeed get better. It told her to trust Sean, to believe that he was
*not* an enemy, but a friend who wanted to help her. And it was telling
her now that something was seriously wrong with Sean.

He was usually very open and honest with her. He was the one who first
let her know that she was still a good person, despite the evil powers
that fueled her. He never held anything back from her. So when she
returned from that fight with the youma only to find a note saying that
he had gone back to Crystal Tokyo, she knew something was wrong.

Hotaru stalked up the stairs of the tower in which the radio station
was held. She was so angry that she didn't even take the elevator. All
she kept thinking was, *I can't believe it, he left me on our _honeymoon_!*
When she reached the 40th floor, she flung open the door and swept down
the hallway. She knew exactly where he'd be.

"Here I am again, your bogus disc jockey, playing all the music that's
*not* fit to play in Crystal Tokyo."

Hotaru reached the control booth, ignoring the 'On the Air' sign and shoved
it open. "Sean Gaffney!" she yelled, brandishing the note. "What is the
meaning of this?"

Sean whirled around. "Hotaru? You're back!" He got up as if to hug her,
but she shoved him down into the chair.

Hotaru shoved the note in his face. "What do you mean about us 'not having
a real honeymoon' and 'waiting until I'm ready'?"

Sean grimaced. "Well, I thought that you were too busy to really relax,
so I--"

"You made a decision without asking me about it first!" Hotaru planted both
hands on her hips, waiting for his reply.

"Well, I thought about building a cabin on the beach out of sticks and
sand, but..." Hotaru gave him a punch on the arm and Sean yelped. "Listen,
I'm sorry--"

"'Sorry' doesn't even cut it, mister." She leaned over and jabbed at his
chest with one finger. "I am real tired of you people thinking that you
know what's best for me."

"What?"

"Venus says that I'm not ready to join them on real missions." Hotaru paced
around the room. "She's afraid that I'll 'Saturn out' and destroy the
planet." Hotaru stopped and whirled back to Sean. "And you think that
just because I had to leave twice on our honeymoon that I'm not having fun!"

"No, I think that when the rest of the senshi are busy trying to stop a big
ol' invasion of youma you'll get called away again and leave me," Sean
stated.

"It's not like I want to go, I have an obligation to meet." Hotaru
replied. "It's not like I'm having fun doing it."

"Well, what else would you call that?" Sean asked. "No one I knew got
up in the middle of having sex to go slay monsters!" He paused. "Well,
maybe the entire cast of 'La Blue Girl'... but I never got to meet them."
He paused again. "Yet."

"No one you knew ever had to slay monsters." Hotaru stopped in front of
him. "Listen, I have a job, a dangerous job. Sometimes it requires me to
be away for some period of time, but I will always come back to you."

"That's not what I'm mad about!" Sean threw up his hands in disgust.

"Well, then, what are you mad about?" Hotaru tilted her head to one side.

"You got up in the middle of sex to go slay monsters!"

Hotaru blinked. "What?"

Sean grabbed her hands and held them. "Hotaru, I love you. I need you.
You are the light of my life. I want to be with you. But I can't do that
when you're traipsing out of my arms without even a goodbye."

"Oh, is that it?"

Sean kissed her hands. "That's everything." He pulled her closer to him
and rested his head on her stomach. "I want you. I have to know that you
want me too."

"Oh, Sean..." Hotaru gently stroked his hair and kissed the top of his head.
"After all this time, all the months we've waited, you're still worried
about that?"

Sean nodded, nuzzling her belly. "To you, this may be the way your life
is supposed to be, but I'm still trying to get used to being here, to all
of this being real." He looked up at her. "Do you still want me?"

"I do want you." A mischevious twinkle entered Hotaru's eyes. "And I'm
going to show you just how much."

"Mmm?" Sean's question was lost in Hotaru's mouth as she clamped her lips
over his, her tongue swirling in his mouth. Impulsively, he lifted his hand
to her head, stroking the back of her neck as she deepened the kiss.

"No." He struggled to look her in the eyes. "I don't think this is a good
idea right now..."

"It's the perfect idea," she whispered softly into his ear before nibbling
on the lobe. "You want me, I want you... what's so bad about that?"

"Well, we're--" She kissed him again, her hands cupping his face as she
settled on his lap, straddling him. She shifted her hips slightly so he
could feel her brush his manhood.

Any objections Sean might have had disappeared as she trailed her fingers
down his neck, bending to suckle at the soft flesh above his collar bone.
One by one, she undid the buttons on his shirt, exposing his chest to
her gaze. She ran her fingers over his pectorals, using her thumbs to
brush against his nipples, all the while moving her hips back and forth
in a bewitching rhythm.

"Hotaru..." he moaned, reaching up to cup her through her blouse. She
sighed at that contact, and she leaned back slightly so she could undo her
blouse, tossing it aside as he leaned forward to kiss her breasts.

When his lips touched her breast, they both sighed as he took the delicate
bud into his mouth, his lips and tongue playing with her nipple. Hotaru
pushed forward, pressing him into the chair as she rubbed her pelvis against
his. Quickly, she divested herself of the rest of her clothing, until she
sat naked on his lap. His hands roamed all over her body, savoring the
soft texture of her skin. He looked up at her and smiled. "You are
so beautiful."

"So are you," she replied, her hands on his shoulders. She pushed his shirt
away from his shoulders, and slipping off his lap, she deftly unbuttoned
his jeans and pulled down the zipper. Soon, he was as naked as she, and she
was straddling his lap again, perfectly poised over him. They looked each
other in the eye and she slowly lowered herself onto him. He slid in
perfectly, like he was made to fit her. They sighed again when she came to
rest on his lap, her bottom touching his thighs. Slowly, they began to move,
Hotaru's deep eyes staring into Sean's blue ones, as she moaned and writhed
above him.

Sean stiffened, his hands moving up to bring her sweet nipples to his lips
again, bracketing her breasts with both hands. He squeezed them
together, burying his face in the valley between them. Hotaru in turn,
threw her head back, the pleasure from her nipples coursing throug her body.
She thrusted herself down again, over and over, all the while panting
as Sean licked at her nipples, her neck, her earlobes. Soon, the
pleasure was too much for both of them, as they cried out each other's names.

A ringing bell brought them back to reality, as Hotaru lay collapsed on
his chest. Sean lifted his head to see a blinking red light over the
phone lines. Phone lines!

Sean jolted foward and hit the button next to the light. Haruka's voice came
out of the speakers. "Hey, guys, as much as we love you, we really
don't need to hear *everything* that goes on between you."

Hotaru groaned. "You heard all of that?"

"Heard it? Hell yes! You guys were on the air all the time!"

Hotaru flushed, but Haruka laughed. "Luckily for you, once we figured out what
was going on, we came right over and switched off the feed from the studio."
Haruka chuckled. "Not long after, we got several phone calls from your fans,
urging us *not* to shut it off."

Sean slammed his hand down on the button, cutting Haruka off mid-laugh.
He turned to Hotaru, who was silently laughing. "What's so funny?"

Hotaru giggled. "Well, you wanted to know if I wanted you... Now
everyone in the city knows exactly how much I love you." She mused to her-
self. "I wonder if anyone was taping that... I'd like to get a copy."

Sean grinned. "Why have a copy when you can get the real one for free?"
He kissed her on the lips. Hotaru laughed as she kissed him back,
reveling in their love.

EPILOGUE: One week later.

Sean rubbed his hand against his eyes. "Normally this spot is reserved
for my kvetching about the world in general, but I just don't feel like it.
So instead, let's go right to the music. Here's the Boo Radleys."

And as he turned up the volume, he began dancing around the studio, a mad
grin on his face singing at the top of his lungs.

~ Summer's gone, days spent with the grass and sun
I don't mind, to pretend I do seems really dumb
I rise as the morning comes
Crawling through the blinds
I shouldn't be up at this time,~

A female voice joined him in on the second verse, and he turned around.
"Hotaru!" he exclaimed. "I didn't know you'd be back so soon."

"The offenders were quickly and competently destroyed by the senshi, assisted
by the wife of a radio disc jockey. Imagine that." She ran her fingers
down his arm. "Do you think your listeners would mind listening to
a whole day's worth of music, without any interruption?"

"And why would they do that?" Sean asked, a gleam in his eye.
Hotaru whispered in his ear and his grin grew wider. "I made just such
a tape for just an occassion." He shoved it into the slot, and as
the sound of one of his favorite songs filled the room, Sean took his wife
into his arms and kissed her with everything he had to offer.

~I could have loved you girl
Like a planet
I could have chained your heart
To a star
But it really doesn't matter at all
But it really doesn't matter at all
Life's a gas
I hope it's gonna last~

~I could have built a house
On the ocean
I could placed your love
In the sky
But it really doesn't matter at all
But it really doesn't matter at all
Life's a gas
I hope it's gonna last~

~I could have turned you
into a priestess
I could have burned
Your fate in the sand
But it really doesn't matter at all
But it really doesn't matter at all
Life's a gas
I hope it's gonna last~

THE END.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

Believe it or not, Sean actually wanted to do this piece..... he just didn't
want to write a lemon. So, I graciously volunteered. Who knew that it
would take over a year to write? Much thanks to Sean Gaffney, who preread
this lemon and suggested lines for himself to say, and to the Keep Rats
for being my support.

In case you were not aware, this lemon piece is a companion story to
Sean Gaffney's "Made of Stone", his Self-Insertion fic about Crystal Tokyo.
If you really want to know, it takes place precisely a week and three days
before the final scene in the original story, where he sings that happy
song and admits to being happy in Crystal Tokyo. Now you know the reason
why. ^_-

Because Sean's being such a pest about this, the name of the song at the
end is "Life's a Gas" by T. Rex.
