I just don't know what to say about this, except how angry I am. And bitter. I
was already in bad mood when I began reading 'Angel' (barring the DARK tag),
and after hours of continous interruptions and souring of my feelings, I was
determined to finish reading this fanfic. Needless to say, I was NOT happy, or
satsified with the ending. 'Angel' certainly did NOT help improve my mood (and
I had hoped so).
I am really disappointed in how you had choosen to end this fanfic, despite
the fact that it seemed appropiate to end it that way. While I'm relatively
new to Ranmaverse (having read only one-quarter of all Ranma mangas), I had
become fond of Ranma and Akane. Seeing them being driven apart, and then
having thier relationship being voided like that just made me..., for a lack
of better term, furious. I guess the reason why it affected me and not the
other fanfics was because it seemed almost so real. However, the way Ranma
acted, it seemed to me that he prized his manhood above his only love, Akane.
I didn't like that concept, even though I know that he already had attempted
to find the cure for it, and wanted to be a husband to Akane. Surely he would
have compromised somehow, in my opinion.
Also, Ranma just fell apart in the end all too easily. How could he have let
all hard work he had done- retrainning, studying for college, and finally
enrolling into an university, his struggle to hold on to his old image- how
can he give up on all that so easily?
There's also a matter of who did it to him. I'd love to find out who did this
to Ranma, but I have a feeling that even you have no idea who did it. And what
about the others' reaction to Ranma's plight? I never got to find out how
Shampoo reacted to Ranma's failure in acquiring a cure, and I really wanted to
find out about that. What about Kodachi? And there's a couple of his enemies-
Mousse, Pantyhose Tarou, and Kuno? A brief insight of how they felt for him
might be helpful.
At the end, I had been so into your fanfic that in the end, I strongly felt
that if Ranma died later on, that Akane would have to die as well. Your fanfic
had infulenced me so dramatically that I felt worse off than ever. I don't
know wether it was better that way to end it that way, without revaling the
aftermath of Ranma's attempted suicide. But I guess it's better to leave it
unsaid. I don't think I want to know what happened afterwards.
I also had read 'Iris' fanfic sometime ago, and it was truly wonderful fanfic,
and it was very emotional for me. I'm eagerly looking forward to your sequel
to 'Iris'.
In the end, you've written few of the rare fanfics that actually envoked
emotions from me, and even rarely, anger. I'm not sure wether to applaud you
on your work on 'Angel', or be angry. I'm actually having mixed emotions about
your latest work, mostly in negative (but in honest) way.
I apologize for my intital anger- I'm just venting my frustration over your
fanfic, because I wasn't happy about how it ended.
But, in the end, I have to admit that you did so well on your fanfics, evoking
emotions from me. That's the quality and ability I admire in authors of any
kind. For your works, I have nothing but profound respect and admiration.
And for that, I am glad that I had the opportunity to read your fanfics.
Please do contiune your work, regardless how I might feel about them.
I truly appreciate all the work you've done in bringing your fanfics to life.
You've earned yourself a deciated reader for your fanfics.
Thank you,
