Hey there folks this is my first time posting on the Mailing List. This
story originates from a talk a friend of mine and I were having about
Inu-Yasha. We were talking about what Inu-Yasha wanted the Shikon no Tama
for and how having a wish granted would be easier. Inevitably this little
scenario was born. Special thanks to James as he was a part in making
this. CC is welcome but try to keep the flames at simmer rather than
barbecue.
Standard disclaimers: Inu-Yasha and its characters belongs to Rumiko
Takahashi. Dragon Ball belongs to Akira Toriyama. This is done only for
fun so please don't sue me. (It's not like I have that much money
anyway...)

Inu-Yasha could feel the excitement building up in him. He'd done
it. After all of his hard work he'd finally been able to collect all seven
balls. They were curious little things. No bigger than his fist. Each one
an orange pearl with a different number of stars inside. He had all seven
mystical Dragon Balls in his possession. Kagome and the others watched as
Inu-Yasha anxiously placed the ball together in front of him on the
ground.
Inu-Yasha then spoke the words and summoned forth the Eternal
Dragon. The sky darkened and the Dragon Balls began to pulsate with an
eerie glow. The balls suddenly flashed with an intense white light and a
uge scaled body appeared in the sky. Inu-Yasha and the others were awed by
the sight of the magnificent creature floating in the air.
"YOU HAVE SUMMONED ME AND I HAVE COME. SPEAK YOUR WISH AND IT
SHALL BE GRANTED," the dragon boomed in an impossibly loud voice.
Inu-Yasha was suddenly caught off guard. His original intent was
to wish to become a full youkai, but was that what he really wanted? He
glanced at the others and saw them gaping at the sight of the awesome
creature. His resolve wavered when he saw Kagome. If he was full youkai,
he'd be able to protect her better, but... he'd still have to watch her
grow old and die. He wanted to be with Kagome for the rest of her life.
Originally he'd meant to use the Shikon no Tama to become a full human so
that he could start a family with Kikyou.
What would he do? He could wish to become a full youkai or a full
human. Was he really willing to sacrifice all of his powers and everything
for Kagome? He looked at her face and felt his heart speed up. Inu-Yasha
reached a decision. He opened his mouth to speak, but he was suddenly cut
off.
"I wish that I could pass my math test!" Kagome yelled.
"VERY WELL. YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED." The dragon disappeared
and the Dragon Balls rose into the air and were scattered across the earth
once more.
Inu-Yasha was in shock. *All that hard work... All that hard work
for a stupid test!?* he thought to himself. He angrily turned to Kagome.
"You, bitch! Now look what you've done!"
Kagome returned his angry glare. "Listen here! Because of all the
time I've spent looking for the Shikon no Tama fragments, my grades have
been suffering!" Tears suddenly appeared in her eyes. "Don't you want me
to succeed Inu-Yasha?"
Inu-Yasha was taken aback by her tears. They always did that to
him. If there was one thing he didn't like, it was seeing her cry. His
reslove started to crumble but he quickly shook it off. "Don't try to
change the subject! Baka! You wasted my wish!" He was actually impressed
that he'd been able to shake off his normal response to her crying.
"So! If that's how you feel, Osuwari! (Sit)" she yelled. Inu-Yasha
fell spread-eagle onto the ground with tremendous force. Kagome sniffed
and walked away from him.
"That is fate," Miroku said. Shippou just nodded in agreement.

The scary thing about this short fic is that it's actually in charcter for
Kagome to wish for something like that. (You should see the dream she has
about passing her math test in the manga.)
