A four part fic by Catbert25.

Part 1 Rise!

10 years ago, In a mid sized city somewhere in Midwestern U.S....

John Walker stood and frowned as he fell yet again. He was a
young boy of only six years old, he had short brown hair and green eyes.
With the exception of his eye color he was a rather ordinary looking
child. Nothing particularly special about him. He simply stood up after
his fall as he had many times before.
His grandfather was an old war veteran from the second world war.
He was an old battle hardened geezer who had learned an unusual style of
Kung fu during that time from a friend. After he had returned home he had
devoted his life to the arts and was carrying on the school of his master
in America. He had a gruff looking white beard and a not unkind face,
most people found him intimidating anyway because of the fact that even
in his old age, he was huge. His arms were like the branches of an oak
tree and his chest looked like he had two barrels stuffed into his
tattered gray dogi. At one time the garment had been white like the one
his grandchild now wore.
He looked down at the boy as he stood and tried again. "Good, but
try harder," he said with a sigh.
"Hai," muttered the boy. His grandfather had insisted that he be
taught Japanese since the day he was born. He would have liked Chinese
better, but his own grasp of the language was minimal so he had gone with
the more familiar language to him.
John did not live with his Grandfather, he lived with his mother
and father in a small apartment a few blocks away. Both his parents
worked during the day so he spent allot of time with the old man.
The man believed that if he was busy he would be better behaved.
For the most part he was right. The boy spent his time cleaning or
practicing Kung fu while he was with the old man. It had been that way
since the time he could walk. He rarely complained and did his chores
diligently. The old man also wanted him to carry on the school when he
died.
Unfortunately, the old man died when the boy was seven. Despite
his gruff nature he had always been kind to the boy and John loved him
very much. It was devastating to him, and his parents. The old man would
never finish the boy's training in the Walker school of Kung fu.
If you are thinking that the boy continued to train in the school
after this time then you are gravely mistaken. The old man had no records
or training manuals which he could have used to learn when he was old
enough. The Walker school of Kung fu was forever gone.
John had known his grandfather's wishes for him to carry on the
school though. He continued to practice what he had learned from the old
man every day. It was not much mind you, he was only six and had not
learned much beyond very basic moves.
He had sworn to himself that the Walker school would not die with
the old man, even if he had to start a new school. Little did he know
that it takes more than a little determination to start a school and
learn a new style. It also takes skill, and strength that he did not yet
have.

In the years that followed John became a social recluse. He never
spoke unless he had something to say, and even then only enough to get
his point across. His parents became worried. He made no friends in
school, he didn't speak unless he was spoken to and often he ignored the
other students.
If you are thinking he became unpopular or a nerd you are
mistaken again. He simply vanished into the back of the classrooms. His
school work was always average, he was never bothered by bullies or
particularly nasty students. Most people just ignored him. He spent his
lunches and recess periods alone in quiet corners and mostly slept
throughout them. Guidance counselors never found him depressed or even
adamant. He was just quiet, often respectful, and never unpleasant.
Girls are what first worried his parents. When he was around them
he was indifferent towards them and mostly ignored them, even after he
had reached puberty. They were somewhat relieved when they eventually
discovered that it was the same with all children, male or female. It
still bothered them though. Girls didn't speak to him much either, he was
not unattractive, just average. That's all there was to it.

When his life really started was seven years after the old man's
death. He acted pretty normaly around the house. Watching T.V. reading
books, normal things for a fourteen year old. The only unusual thing in
his life was the two hours he spent daily in practice. He would repeat
the Kata's and forms his grandfather had taught him when he was younger
every day. They were all simple forms of course. The man had planed on
teaching him the more subtle and complex Katas when he was older. Jhon
only knew one thing, when he did them he felt truely at peace. The world
and all its problems vanished, not that he had many. He perfomed a few
unusual endurance building exersizes as well as streatching and basic
muscle strengthening exersizes. This is the bulk of what his grandfather
had taught him. He was trying to get the boy into shape for the training
he would recieve when he was older.
One day during one of these sessions his mother entered the room.
She sat on his bed and waited patiently for him to finish. She was quite
proud of his acomplishments, and his determination in this over the
years. It also worried her though. He had obviously taken the old
man's death quite badly. Still, he could have taken up worse habbits, and
he never got into a fight. He didn't lie and he didn't become a problem,
so she and her husband just let it be.
He finished up his exersizes and stood facing his mother. She
knew it would be useless to speak before then because he never interupted
his practice for anything. She doubted if he would leave if the house was
on fire.
"Jhon, your father and I have been talking. We've decided to
enrole you in a local karate class," she said looking aprehensive.
"Good," said the boy with a small smile. As somber as he sounded
he really was not depressed or unhappy. He often smiled and was mostly
cheerful, it was one of the reasons he was never bothered by the school's
guidance counselors or the other students. A somber boy would be a real
target for people like them.
"I was hoping you'd be happy, we weren't sure. You seemed so set
on learning your grandfather's style that we thought you might not like
it," she said with a relieved sigh.
"I can always learn something different," he said cheerfully.
"Good, It's at that Tai kwon do gym down the street," said the
woman she looked exstreamly relieved. It was as if she exspected him to
be angry about it or something.

Three days later, Jhon stood and frowned at his new dogi. They
had insisted that he wear one of thiers and would not allow him to wear
his old one. He understood though, the one he had on had a few patches
that told people where he trained at. He accepted it, but he still didn't
like it. The new one felt stiff and it would take a few weeks to break it
in.
He was standing in the middle of a open and well lit room with a
padded floor and a wall of mirrors. Several hooks hung from the ceiling
so that practice bags could be hung for the advanced classes. There was
also a large banner on the wall that read, "Duke Morton's Tai kwon do
plus".
Jhon tugged at the cotton belt around his waist and frowned at is
seemed unwilling to grow tight. He missed his black silk belt at home
already.
The other students looked at him and murmured amoungst
themselves. He recognised two or three out of the dozen or so students as
people from his school.
One of the female class mates stared at him in mild shock. She
sat near him in his history class. His chest was exsposed because of the
dogi and his muscles could be seen clearly. He was not a large boy, but
his body was very tight. He frowned slightly and turned as the two
instructors marched in.
Everone lined up sloppily and stood in muddled rows in bad
stances around him. Jhon stood in a perfect ready stance and smirked. The
class bowed rather clumsily and he followed suite gracefully.
The head instructor was a very large blonde man with a crew cut
who looked like he lifted weights. The other man was heavy set and had a
lazy look about him, he also had almost no hair.
The weight lifter began to bark orders and the students punched
clumzily as he counted off the punches for one of the warm up exersizes.
Jhon frowned as the man used quick motions to correct a student. It was
not his method that bothered him, just the fact that he had corrected him
wrong.
This sort of thing went on for about fifteen minutes. Jhon
breezed through the warm up exersizes easily and frowned when people were
corrected, and often praised for doing things wrong. Just because they
improved a little did not mean they did it perfectly.

Then it came time for class to begin. Jhon accepted the simple
exersizes as easier for his class mates to do. He performed the kata they
gave him flawlessly. He smirked a little as he saw the amazed look his
schoolmates were giving him. He imagined he'd probably have a few
questions to answer tommorow. It would pass though, it always did.

A few moments later he was doing punching drills again. One of
the instructors walked up to him, the fat one. "Perfect son," he said as
he pat Jhon on the shoulder. Jhon froze and grit his teeth.
"Sir, I beg to differ, sir," he said mechanicaly as he stopped
the exersize.
The man stopped and walked over to him. "Pardon?"
"That punch was not perfect sir!" said Jhon calmly, he looked
straight ahead as he did so in almost military fashion.
"Well, what would you call a perfect punch?" said the man.
Jhon pointed at the mirrored wall next to him. "When I can crack
that glass without touching it, sir," he replied in complete seriousness.
"Hey Duke, get a load of this guy," cried the guy as he laughed
as if Jhon was not standing there.
The large instructor walked over and the fat man relayed the
story. "You think you could do that boy?" asked the muscular man.
	"Not yet," was the reply.
"You got an attitude son, I don't like that," said the instructor
angrily.
Jhon looked at the class as it clumzily made it's way through the
practice. Even the higher ranks were sloppy. "Sir, If you don't think I'm
waisting my time here then prove me wrong," he said without changing his
position. He stared straight ahead and clenched his jaw.
"What was that?" said the large man as he leaned in close to Jhon
in a failed attempt to unnerve him.
"I am challenging you. If you can prove to me that you can teach
me something I'll stay and do whatever you say, If not...I leave right
now," said Jhon as he returned the man's gaze evenly.
"Watson!" cried the large man as he waved a smug looking boy with
a black belt with several gold bars on it over. The boy stood next to
Jhon and smiled as he realized what was happening.

Jhon stood calmly and tightened his belt again.
"All right punk," said the boy.
"This is just a sparring match. Don't forget that," said the fat
instructor.
The other instructor gave a small smile to the boy and Jhon knew
what it meant. "Hurt him, just not too much."

The battle started when the fat man yelled, "Begin!"
Jhon was on the poor boy immideately. He snapped a kick at his
head that stopped just short of his nose and retracted it before he could
react.
"Point!" said the fat man looking surprised.
The boy looked angry. "You won't catch me by surprise this time,"
Jhon snorted and waited for his attack this time. Watson punched
at him with a straight left jab. Jhon snaked his hand out and snagged his
wrist out of the air easily. The boy froze as Jhon spun under his arm and
gently elbowed him under the armpit and then backhanded him in the face
lightly around his arm, he then twisted and pulled his arm down hard
flipping him over and sending him to the mat.
Jhon looked up calmly and headed for the door.
"Stop," said the large instructor. He stood in a ready position
with out any pads on and glared at Jhon angrily.
The boy turned to face him and removed his own pads.
Jhon smiled as the two of them stood there looking angry.
"Get out of the way Watson," said the large man angrily.
"Sir?" cried the boy looking upset.
"You question your sensei? My grandfather would never allow this
in his dojo. You have disgraced the arts, I will never set foot in this
place again," said Jhon bitterly as he stood ready for the attack he knew
was coming.
The large man charged at him and Jhon simply side stepped. The
man turned and puched at the boy quickly. He had some skill, but Jhon was
faster, and better.
The young boy dodged easily around his blows and grabbed his leg
just as the man kicked at him in a clumzy side kick. Jhon kicked out and
swept the man's remaining leg out from under him and followed through so
quickly that he ended in a back spinning heel kick in the man's face
before he even started to drop. The man was unconsious when he landed.
Jhon snorted and walked over to the wall, he reached up and
plucked the large sign from the wall, rolled it up and placed it under
his arm. He walked by the dazed and amazed students and exited the dojo.
That was when he realized his calling. He must find someone who
could defeat him if he was to exspand his skills. He would become an
American Dojo destroyer. A cold smile formed on his lips as he walked
onwards, he had never felt so alive as he did at that moment. "Combat, it
makes me feel whole," he said as he walked onwards. A light rain began,
he ignored it and continued on.

Six monts passed and Jhon stood in the doorway of the final
karate school in his area that had not been challenged. He had already
challenged twenty schools from the city and neiboring towns. He had yet
to be defeated, he had in fact, crushed all who faced him utterly. He had
a large collection of signs of all shapes and sizes in his room now. He
smiled as he walked into the place. Practice had ended for the day and
only a few students had remained in the dojo. The instructors were all
asian and there was a sign with Japanese writing on the wall.
"Can I help you?" asked an attractive looking Japanese girl who
walked up to him smiling. He looked her up and down.
<I am here to challenge your dojo,> replied Jhon in Japanese with
an emotionless tone.
The girl went pale and backed away from him. A look of horrible
realization crossed her face. She now knew who he was. <F-Father!>
stammered the girl as she ran towards the back of the building.
After a few moments a gray haired man in his early fifties came
from the back of the dojo with a large frown on his face. He was huge and
well muscled, he was also about the same hight as Jhon. He was obviously
Japanese and had his long gray hair tied back in a loose ponytail. <So,
you are the modern day Dojo destroyer who had plauged the schools in this
weak place. You will not find weakness here,> he said angrily.
<If you do not wish to accept my challenge I will leave,> said
Jhon calmly. No one had ever declined him, they simply allowed their
pride to lead them to their defeat.
<I will accept your challenge,> snorted the man.
Jhon bowed and took up a fighting stance and waited.
<I exspected someone...taller,> growled the man.
Jhon just waited patiently. The man rushed forward and kicked at
the boy's head, Jhon side stepped and ducked under another sweeping leg
motion. The man did a rushing double front kick and then tried to catch
Jhon with a complicated series of punches and chops.
The boy dodged most of the manuvers easily with simple motions
and he even took a few blows.
"Damn, he's to fast for me to grab, this one is going to be
tough," muttered Jhon to himself. The man flipped into the air and tried
to do a spinning air cresent kick and Jhon simply kicked with a simple
side kick that knocked him out of the air. The man landed on his feet,
rushed Jhon, and tried to perform another series of punches and chops.
This time Jhon blocked them easily and punched straight out in a simple
punch that took the man in the chest hard.
The old man staggered back and growled angrily at allowing such a
simple move to break through his defenses.<You mock me with such simple
techniques?!>
The man had realized what his problem was, the attacks he was
using were complicated and Jhon was countering with very simple and
extreamly accurate moves.
<So, that is how you defeated all those men, I understand now,>
laughed the man to himself. He stood and changed his posture.
Jhon raised his eye brow and stood as he always did. He raised
his fist up to his face and readied himself.
The man charged at him and his arm began to shake. Jhon frowned
when he saw that the punch would miss by inches. He was surprised, to say
the least, when he felt a blow connect and his entire chest and face
exsploded in pain. "What the hell?" he thought as he stood and glared at
the man in disbeleif. There was no way he had been hit. The man could not
have reached him from that distance. How did it happen?
The man pressed his attack with a kick this time that did not
connect but sent Jhon flying into a mirrored wall anyway. Miraculously
the mirror remained intact. The boy stood and remembered something. "The
air around his foot seems distorted when he does that. It's like the air
over the pavement on a hot day. What is that?" he thought to himself as
the man rushed across the room towards him. Jhon stood and jumped up over
his head as he kicked again. He spun and kicked at the back of his neck
and the man moved aside quickly. What followed neither one of the two
could say for sure. Jhon landed and turned as the man was still dodging
from the kick and turning to face him. He saw a strange distortion like
the one that had appeared around the man's foot where his torso had once
been, most of it concentraited on a single spot. It moved with the man
and caught up with him almost as soon as he saw it leaving a faint trail.

"Can I do that?" wondered Jhon as he went wide eyed and backed
into a simple defencive posture. He had picked up a few useful
technieques in his battles with the other schools. Some of the students
might have beaten him if they had any real training. The old man was
charging again at seemingly impossibly slow speeds as Jhon's mind raced.
He concentraited and felt something stir within him. It was faint, but
still there. He frowned and tried to pull more power from himself before
the man reached him but it wasn't enough, the power just wasn't there. He
was sent across the room to the center of the dojo by another kick and
sprawled across the floor.
<You are strong, but you are not strong enough, go back and train
some more before you try to face me again foolish dojo destroyer,>
snorted the old man.
<This battle isn't over old man...>"Not by a longshot!" roared
Jhon as he lept to his feet, he switched from Japanese to english
without realizing it. He rushed and punched at the man who simply blocked
and backhanded him in the face. Jhon staggered back on one foot and
swooned for a moment. He had never had a really good blow landed on him
before and it was an interesting exspirience. He stood straight and
steeled himself. "If I can't get the power to do that from myself like
him...Where do I get it? I won't win with just normal techniques," he
wondered as he watched the man circle him. He tried to build up the
energy in his abdomen like he had before and cursed quietly at the meager
results. He tried to find power from anywhere, he was growing desperate.
Then he began to feel something around him, energy, almost unlimeted
power in the air around him. "Chi!" he said quietly as he realized what
it was.
"Yes, very good boy. The powers from within can defeat any
opponent," said the old man with a knowing smile. His victory was assured
with his next blow.
He looked at the man as he charged another of the chi powered
blows to throw at Jhon. His arm shook slightly and Jhon could see the
power gathereing there. However the air around him remained untouched.
The man seemed to be drawing the chi from himself and was ignoring the
air around him for some reason. Then he remembered what the old man had
said, "From within," Could it be that he did not know about the other
power because he had trained himself to pull it from his body? Jhon
himself had not seen the power there until he had stumbled upon it while
groping about clumsily. Perhaps he just didn't know? Now however, he
could see the power all around him and in other people as well, as if it
was all conected. It wasn't visible so to speak mind you, He just knew
where it was and what it was doing. Seeing is just the easiest way to
describe it. His vision was unchanged. He was suddenly aware of
everything around him.

Jhon attacked, He rushed forward and punched at the man who
blocked, Jhon simply elbowed him in the face using the same arm he
punched with and side kicked him in the chest. The man staggered back and
gasped for a moment. Jhon pressed his attack and punched him in the chest
twice before sweeping the man with his right leg and following through
with a punch at his chest.
The man rolled out of the way and Jhon hit the floor. The elderly
martial artist scrambled to his feet and smiled as he prepaired to end
the match with a final blow. He yelled and finally released the blow he
had been charging. He seemed slower and weaker because he had used the
power from within himself. Jhon ducked under the blow and felt the wave
of engergy surounding the man's arm pass through the tips of his hair.
Jhon smiled as he felt the energy draw into his own hand and his
arm shook with the invisible power.

The young girl watched the battle in awe. The boy ducked under
her father's blow and crouched low. Almost immediately his arm began to
shake.
<Fool if he thinks that's all there is to father's attack he'll
be...> her thoughts were cut off as the arm began to form a visible aura
of pure blue fire. Not even her father could do that.
<No!> She screamed as she stood. The students didn't notice as
they watched the amazing battle before them.

Jhon smiled as something came into his mind. He was still only
fourteen mind you. He shot upwards in an uppercut and uttered a playful
cry that he had heard many times in one of the favorite video games. "Sho
ryu ken!" His smile vanished almost immediately as the sheer force of the
blow carried him into the air almost ten feet above the ground. His fist
bored a hole straight through the ceiling as the aura burned through the
plaster and wood above him. Thankfully the momentum stopped before he
reached the metal supports. He turned his attention back downward at the
old man who was landing roughly on the ground with a long tear in his
dogi and a huge ugly mark that ran from his chest to his chin. He shifted
in the air as he remembered that he had not quite won yet. He felt
himself falling and twisted a final time to land in a punch that stopped
just short of the old man's chest. A killing blow if it had been
completed.
"I...consede," said the man in english reluctantly from his
position on the ground he gasped for his breaths and had one eye closed
as he tried to recover from the pain.

Jhon stood and walked towards the door, he felt the familiar rush
end and the emptyness of another completed battle drain his soul. The
girl he had met at the door looked at him with a hateful stare and held
the sign forward. Ryo walked by her without stopping and opened the door
to leave. He paused and turned back towards the man. "You are the most
worthy opponent I have yet faced, I ask that you continue to teach. So
that if I return I might have a worthy opponent," with that he walked out
into the street.

He continued walking for some time. As he slowly walked past his
home he realized that he would probably never see it again. He had his
first taste of a real battle, he desperately wanted more. He would
continue to search for that feeling until he finally found defeat.
Perhaps then he could stop, but not before.

	Nerima, Japan. Two years later...

Akane Tendo stood in the center of the dojo in her dogi going
through a complex kata. Sweat pours down her brow and she grunts with
each hard blow. Jumping into the air she performed a complex airial
kicking combonation and came down with a light sound on the floor. She
spun around and punched at her invisible opponent before backing away and
blocking non existent blows. In a small shrine on the wall two golden
rings sit. It is much smaller than the family shrine and it brings back
yet another painful memory. The wedding.
Everything had been perfect, she and Ranma were about to be
married, when they came. All of them, at least Ryoga had enough sense to
forget his quarrel with Ranma. Still she felt an immence releif, she knew
she cared for him, but did she love him enough to spend the rest of her
life as his wife? He had already forgiven Ukyo weeks before, Shampoo and
Cologne were back to their old tricks again, and Kodachi...well, she was
Kodachi. Only Ranma's life had gone any easier since that day. Mousse had
almost forgotten he even existed and relentlessly persued Shampoo. The
wedding seemed to put his mind to rest about his intentions towards her
finally. He and Ranma still scuffled now and then, but it was like the
recent battles between him and Ryoga. They seemed almost obligitory,
neither of them had their heart set in it any longer.
Ryoga was completely different. He seemed to almost avoid her.
She imagined it was his sence of direction coupled with his new
relationship with Akari, he didn't want to make her jealous. Still, it
was a bit silly considering the two of them had become such good friends.

At least she had someone besides Ukyo to confide in, the
Okonomiyaki girl had always been nice to her, even if she did have other
motives most of the time. She still considered her a friend. She had told
Ranma that the bombs were meant for Akane, but Akane knew better. Ukyo
used throwing weapons too much to miss from that distance. She had hit
exactly what she was aiming for.
Akane smiled as she realized that despite her posing she had not
been really forward with Ranma since that time, she was no longer a rival
really. Shampoo was another matter. That girl had not changed a bit.
Akane intensified her Kata as she pushed herself harder from the anger
induced just from the thought of the Amazon girl. "I'll show you who's a
'Not nice girl," she thought to herself.
Ranma had not changed much either. He was a bit more somber and
serious at times when they were together and managed to keep his wit in
line somewhat, but that was about it. He hadn't really changed at all.
She desperately wanted to speak to him alone about the two of them. He
always found a way to squeak out of any serious conversation about the
two of them, just like he always had. "Why won't you tell me how you
feel? Are you deliberately avoiding it?" she asked in her mind. Ranma
seemed so distant when they were alone, often she would catch him gazing
at her with a thoughtful look. He was trying to decide something, she
could tell, But was it about her?
She stopped her emotion driven kata suddenly. Her ears picked up
a sound and she turned to face it. There was a boy of about the same age
as her standing in the corner clapping with a small smile on his face. He
was a tall gaigin, American or european. He had short brown hair and wore
a dirty white dogi with a black silk belt. But what she notice most were
his eyes, they were brown, plain really. He had a hungry stare in his
eyes and she realized that was watching her carefully.
"Who are you? What do you want? How did you get in here?" she
cried defensively as she put up her fist and got into a ready stance.
Partially to hide her body from his stare.
The boy's smile widened a little. He seemed friendly enough. "My
inquisitive one aren't you?" he chuckled.
Akane realized that the stare was still there, it made her
uncomfortable, as if he was undressing her with his eyes. He stepped
forward and smiled. "I am Jhon Walker, and I came through the back door,"
he answered simply.
"What why?" said Akane as she relaxed a bit, then she realized.
"A dojo destroyer!?"
"That is why you have the sign out front I presume?" said the boy
as his gaze intencified.
Akane had the horrible realization that his gaze was not a sexual
one at all. He was taking her appart piece by piece. Analyzing her every
move. He now had an edge on the fight that she didn't have, he knew her
style. "So you want to fight me?" she said with a frown.
"I am from the Walker school of Indiscriminate Grappling," said
the boy as he readied himself. "I challenge you for the honor and sign of
your dojo! Miss?"
"Tendo, of the Anything goes school of Martial arts," stammered
Akane as she looked at him wide eyed. Happosai appeared from his perch on
the ceiling.
"How dare you take the name of my school!?" he cried in anger.
"Akane you must defeat him for he honor of the Anything goes school!"
cried the old man in a shrill voice.
Jhon simply stood ready for the battle. It was the same simple
stance he had used all his life for these battles.
"I will," said Akane reasuringly. "And I'll get you back for
spying on me like that," she thought to herself as she glared at
Happosai. The pair bowed and Akane made her first mistake. She glanced
over at Happosai as he scurried over to the corner to observe.
Jhon kicked out hard and took her dead in the face. She reeled
back and was about to fall backwards when her opponent grabbed her
shoulders and kneed her in the stomach, she bent forward and coughed as
she tried to yell but failed. He elbowed her hard in the back and she
felt his knee in her chest this time as he kept her up. The next thing
she knew she was flying through the air from an over the shoulder throw.
She crashed to the ground hard and stood shakily as she regained her
sences.
"You should pay more attention," he said to her.
Akane growled and charged him with a flurry of punches and kicks.
He dodged a few times and reached out. Akane gasped as she found her leg
being held in the air by the ankle. The boy spun under her leg and
elbowed her in the crotch. She cried out in pain and he swept her foot
sending her to the ground on her back. Before she had even landed he
thrust his hand forward in an open palm strike at her stomach and she sat
up straight from the blow and clutched her stomach in pain. Finally he
uppercut her and sent her skidding across the ground crashing into the
wall. The small shrine with the rings in it crashed to the floor. One of
them rolled along the floor and disapeared between a crack in one of the
floor boards. Jhon snorted and turned away. Akane just stayed in her
position against the wall and groaned in pain as she tried to stir
herself awake subconsiously.
Happosai watched in complete shock as Akane was wiped out easily
by the boy. "How dare you!" he cried angrily.
Jhon simply looked at him and smiled as he walked out the gates
to collect the sign. <Lower your voice old man, I can't understand you
when you shreek at me like that,> he said Mockingly, in English.
The little old pervert bounded over the wall. <How dare you take
the name of the Anything goes school!?> said Happosai in English despite
his anger.
<Anything goes? Oh, I understand now. My school is the 'Walker
school of indiscriminate grappling', not 'Anything goes' old timer. Was
she your student?> asked Jhon as he stopped and looked at the old man
calmly.
<Certainly not! She is the student of that worthless Soun Tendo!
I would never train such a weak martial artist, albeit a very attractive
one,> said Happosai as he lit his pipe and sat on the ground. <I suppose
I can allow you to use the name since you mean it differently, if...>
said the old man looking thoughtful.
<Whatever you say old man, I'm not Japanese. I don't care about
your honor system so I'll use any name I like,> said Jhon as he reached
up and took the sign from the wall just outside the dojo
"Why you ingrate!" said Happy angrily.
"Did you want something or are you going to attack me?" said Jhon
cautiously. He knew better than to fight someone with the ki levels this
man was showing on a whim. "This may be the defeat I'm looking for," he
thought to himself.
"Return here in a week, and I'll have my student defeat you. If
he loses you keep the sign," said Happosai calmly as he puffed on his
pipe.
"What do I get if I win?" said Jhon smugly.
"Oh, I don't know, You can keep the name of your school?" said
Happosai looking innocent.
"Oh, I get it. You want exclusive rights to it and you don't feel
like beating me yourself, is that it?" said Jhon as his smile appeared
again.
"That's it son. It wouldn't be fair for me to go around beating
up poor defensless martial artist like yourself all the time would it?"
said Happy in his 'I'm a sweet little old man' voice.
"I suppose not," said Jhon with a little disapointment in his
voice. "A week then, I hope you have a better challenge for me than this
one," he said as he jerked his thumb back at the dojo.

Soun and Genma returned to the home after a brief trip to a local
bar. Neither of them was particularly drunk, but Genma was a little
sluggish.
"Ah Saotome, nothing beats a..tall..cold..one...on a...hot..."
started Soun as he walked up to the gate. He froze as he noticed the sign
was gone. He rushed into the home and almost ran over Kasumi.
"Oh my, Akane is very upset father. Perhaps you should go talk to
her. She won't tell me what's wrong, and she looks hurt," said the girl
looking worried.
Soun calmed himself and a few tears ran down his face. "My baby."
he whimpered. Then he started to create a river in the home.
Genma caught up "Did you know he sign was gone?!" he asked
dumbly, he appeared to be in shock.
Akane was lying in the living room with a few bandages on her
wrist and head. Nodoka was sitting next to her and was applying a wet
towel to her forehead. She had an ice pack over a bandage that went over
her eye. She sat crying and staring at the ceiling. "Akane! Oh, my little
girl! Ae you hurt!?" cried Soun.
"Daddy, I..I'm so sorry, I lost the sign," said Akane as she
started to sob again.
This was when Ranma walked in, he had been out on an errand for
Kasumi and he dropped the bag on the ground immediately as he entered,
luckily it was only a plastic bottle of soy sause. "Akane!" he cried and
ran to her side falling to his knees. "Are you all right? What happened?"
Akane smiled despite her tears at his reaction. She was about to
speak when someone else answered.
"It was a dojo destroyer," said Happosai from the doorway. "He
defeated Akane and took the sign. He'll return in one week to face you
Ranma."
Ranma picked up Akane's hand and hung his head for a long moment.
"Ranma? I'll be fine by then, I can beat him next ti..." started
Akane.
Ranma looked up with a fire burning in his eyes. "I'll tear him
appart!" he cried in anger.
"That's the spirit son!" cried Soun happily.
Genma had turned into a panda at some point and held a sign with
the word "Ureshii" on it.
"I said I could..." started Akane in anger but Nodoka cut her
off.
"It's best to just let them have their way dear," she said with a
smile. "Besides, you should be happy Ranma cares about your honor so
much."
"What?! I..." stammered Ranma as he turned red suddenly.
	"Hush dear," said his mother.
	TBC...

notes: Masubesu Kakutou Ryu can be correctly translated as either
"Anything goes martial arts" or "Indiscrimintate grappling."
Ureshii: happiness. "I'm so happy." so to speak. This is the
sign Genma uses when ever he and Soun are spying when Ranma and Akane are
having a 'Moment' between each other.

Not inspired by Akane and her sisters, I realized some
similarities after the fact, but it's too late now. I just thought I'd
mention it. Jhon doesn't want the dojo anyway.
This may turn out differently than you think.
Next time Jhon mingles with some of the other Nerimites. Ranma
and Happosai argue about training for the match and Akane gets to sit
back and watch for a few days. Ryoga pay's a visit too. Still got a whole
week to cover before the battle between Ranma and Jhon. Who will win?! I
bet you already think you know. The real question is -Why- he wins.
Should have part 4 up next week
