I don't think Gendo would ever refer to anyone as 'Hot Shit'

She understood. She was the only one who understood what I wanted. A
life free of taunts, bullies, and more for our son or daughter. That's
why she loved me. Me, the one they called the lonely boy. I loved her

I think you need to rephrase this.

The activation of Unit 00. I really hoped that Naoko's personality
engram didn't react to Rei II as the real Naoko reacted to Rei I. But
unfortunately, it did. With utter hatred. Rei would have to learn to
tone done the engram.

D'oh! I knew this, but I didn't know this :)
About why it went berserk in that test. It does make me wonder why he
didn't switch Rei to Unit01. Or something; it seems kinda dangerous to
make someone pilot an EVA that wants them dead :)

Overall, this is an interesting effort to humanize Gendo and make him out
to be less of a bastard. If he was really so broken up, I'm confused as
to why he would get rid of his own son if he actually cared about him at
all.

I think one thing that needs to be done is some work to make his speech
patterns reflect an older person; although I suppose he would be the same
age as us in his origins :)
