I'd like to step up and explain why this is OOC for the Magical Girls
genre, and why that's actually the strongest, most hillarious point
of this series.

I remember reading 'Day of the Barney', which took the (cough) loveable
and plush happy friend-to-all-children dinosaur and exposed him as
a murderous deviant beast from hell.  It was really sick, with plenty
of gore and chaos, but also was funny in a twistedly warped way; and
it was very OOC for Barney to be a sadist, which was the crux of the
joke.

There's also 'A Peanuts Halloween 2 : Electric Boogaloo' which has
Linus sacrificing Sally to Cthulu, and the whole gang becoming gothic/
cyberpunk antiheroes.  Gloriously wrong and outlandishly weird.
Probably one of my favorite stories of all time.

So, now we have Magical Girl Hunter... which features two intensely
weird things : the nasty murder of little girls, and magical girls
who are sadistic freaks.  But this isn't a bad thing.  The story turns
the genre upside down, making the magical girls the enemy; therefore
we have to expose them as being psychoes.  It's similar to the previous
two techniques in that it warps the genre/series/intellectual
property to derive the humor.

Admittedly, this may not be everybody's cup of tea.  You need a sick
sense of humor to find comedy in manslaughter -- black humor, by far.
But the flaws being found aren't really because it's OOC; it's because
of the unacceptability to some of these transgressions.  And hey,
that's fine; no need to read it.  It doesn't make it an internal
fault of the story, just a matter of taste.  For those of you who did
