Ignore this message if you like, but please read me first.

First off, I want to apologize for the handful of Ranma fic requests
I've plunked into the list over the last week or two.  I do have a
reason, however, and it's not too pleasant from where I sit.

Not long ago, some joker sent me a virus'd .exe which (for some
unthinkable reason) went after and killed all files on my HDs with the
.txt and .doc suffixes.  Very ugly mess left behind.  I'm trying to
recover all the fics I lost.  Please forgive me if my fic requests were
annoying or unwelcome.  After this, I wont make one again.

Now the Plea for Help part.  The virus took along with it the file I'd
made as a directory of the fics I'd saved for re-reading on my drives,
as well as the fics themselves.  I've been able to recover a great
portion, but some escape me for a few embarassing reasons.  Such as not
remembering the titles, what site they're located on, the name of the
authors... generally all the bits of info which would let me find them
again with the Resource Guide and other fic databases.  The only thing I
can think of to do is ask for help from people who know more than I do.

All the specifics I can remember about the ones I lost are a scene or
two, the general plot, or sometime a line or two.  If you recognize any
of the fics I mention PLEASE. I beg of you, let me know where I can find
them.

1: When Shampoo showed up, Ranma picked her over Akane but didnt tell
anyone but Shampoo.  Thats generally where it took off from the "normal"
Ranma story, but there were other differences.

2: In the Amazon village, Ranma fought Shampoo as a boy.  When he won
and she gave him the Shampoo Smooch, he slapped her and told her off. 
This created a whole new mess.

3: Kodachi won the match between Ranma and herself, and somehow ended up
in a sanitarium while Ranma lived with Kunou.

4: Ranma & Akane were married right off the bat instead of engaged. I'd
saved more than one (three or four I think) of these.  I recovered "One
Flesh" already.  (great fic, btw)

5: Ranma was engaged to Kasumi originally instead of Akane, and the
story revolved around that.  Kasumi didnt mind, and Ranma only
half-objected.

6: Ranma was able to cancel the engagement to the Tendou Three right at
the start. I know theres a alot of these ones, and I had a good number
of them.  In one, all three decided they wanted Ranma for themselves
(not including "Dragon's Destiny").  In another, it was Nabiki.  The
point here is, I lost all of these.

7: Nabiki went with Genma instead of Ranma, and was cursed in the Spring
of Drowned Boy.  She came back and was engaged to Ranma after the
Foolish Fathers broke the engagement between Ranma & Akane.

8: Almost the twin of #7, but with Kasumi instead.

9: Ranma & Akane accepted their pairing early on. I think I had a few of
these. One had them fooling everyone into thinking they hadn't.  One had
them publicly accepting it and so on..

10: After Ranma got fed up with Shampoo after all her shenanigans (yes,
it's a real word) he gave HER the Kiss of Death.  She misunderstood it
under he explained it to her by telling her he'd kill her.  I'm pretty
positive this was a continuation fic.

11: I lost a bunch of fics where Ranma called it all off with all the
girls, causing a lot of problems.  These I *really* want to find again.

12: One or two in which the girls each try and make up Ranma's mind by
trying to seduce him.  Although it sounds like it, very very few of
these were lemons.

13: Ranma was noticably more intelligent than he originally was. This
had different effects on the fic, but they were all very amusing.  There
were quite a number of these, a half dozen at least.  One of which had
him in frequent battles of wits with Nabiki.

Each of these were either multi-part miniseries, full series, or longer
oneshots (100k avg minimum).

If anyone recognizes these tidbits of memory then PLEASE let me know via
private email.

Again, I want to apologize for this whole situation, and thank each of
you for being so helpful.  This will be my last mssg to the list, I'm
sure I've annoyed too many people by this point.
