I won't name names. ^^ but they exist.
Only one I can think of is A Real Man, but then agian I was off the
list
for a while.
-OR- If they are going to be OOC, then there should be tenable
explanations through story development to describe why actions that
may be OOC to the canon storyline are IC for the 'alternative'
storyline.
That's true. Some can go extremely overboard. (That's the reason I
hated
'A Real Man')
I don't remember that one... but I've got stories on hand that I
really like, however, they'd be considered a lil OOC in terms of
canon material, however, it's IC when fully explained...
I can't. ^^;
Nor can anyone I'm afraid. It makes GREAT MST Fodder though. Now if
I
can only get my GOOD pewter back I can post my Seduction of Ataru MST.
Hmmm..was that the one where Ataru managed to get his harem... and
his problems all mixed up again? ^_^;
Hmmmm. To me, ARD and GS are alternatives to what many would
consider an alternative timeline already. As lemons, ARD and GS
have succeed partly on the basis that they -do- have a storyline.
Although I recognize that ARD is 'inspired' by the UY lemon:
A Prince and the Lecher (Title?) which was in turn based from
Smendou's The Kidnapping -- another lemon.
You mean to tell me I am the indirect cause of ARD? I think I am
going
to be ill! = ) I knew I never should have posted that piece of crap.
=
)<snip similarities with Herriot's other works.>
Ouch. A Prince and the Lecher was the storyline that forms the
basis of ARD -- in fact, we can definitively see remnants of such
since Herriot has Oyuki saying...
Yeah Herriot said it himself. I just can't stand it for the odd
alien
language EVERYWHERE. UY was really never meant to be that serious of a
story. Details are nice, but this is overboard. I mean come on. I just
can't
take a story that would have a phrase like: "He put his namghsuyang
in
her pulsing namghmun."
Gee, now THERE'S eroticism for you! = )
^^; The most erotic organ within the body is truly the mind...
The writing is OK, but the author just puts in too much wierd
stuff. It
also one of the reasons I'm not a huge Sci-fi reader.
Chacun son gout! ^^; Alot of the story reminds me of Appleseed...
most likely because the first Sagussans beyong Noa-chan that I
can recollect (or was it Honey-chan?) is Deunan and Hitomi and
their pet sandpanther... ^^
<snip clip of ARD>
^_^; In ARD, the great villian (or the first one) is named: Gaylan!
^^
And what's wrong with Zed huh? = )
Ehhhh...we moved from Zed to Graven to Gaylan... and there is
nothing wrong with Zed except that I'd be thinking Power Rangers
after that ^_-
JAD started great. It really did. But I got pissed when Lews
stopped it
for a couple of years halfway. I also thought the whole Onsen Mark
thing was
just plain silly. It's still better than most other stuff out there
now
though.
For the limited amount of UY fanfics out there... I'm fairly
happy that we -do- have good fics to read ^^
Good point. The sad thing is the vast majority of UY work hasn't been
posted
to the net. Most of it was serialized in USA Yatsura. I know that's
where
the character Sugoi started.
Welllllll.... Fred Lee Cain's Sugoi story is online. But I wonder
where I can find back copies of USA Yatsura for their fanfics..
-George (Man I never should have written UY: The Kindapping)
We'll forgive you ^_- (j/k)
Thanks. I'll be doing pennance for a while. It's still shakepeare
when
compared to Oscar though. Then agian what isn't? -George
At least you're not on your knees in a hair shirt ^^; And Oscar
defined a new low for all writers!
Helen ;p
