Why do you say that? It doesnt take a day to read most fanfics, much
less a
chapter of one. I'm still waiting for someone to wake up and tell me
what
Amazingly, most people don't devote their entire life to reading fanfics.
A substantial number of people don't even read their email every day. I
myself often am far enough behind that I may not be able to read a story I
get for several days if it is very long at all. Just because email makes
near instant response possible doesn't mean people will make instant
responses.
Good point.
And if it doesnt show within a day, forget it.
I usually don't expect any comments for at least 24 hours, and often it
takes several days before anything more than 'Nice story' shows up.
Substantive comments take time.
It depends on how long the fanfic is and what kind of comments are desired.
In Marisa's case, she just wanted to know if her new chapter of LiL fit well
with the older chapters. Most C&Cers would read the chapter and give maybe
a paragraph or two of comments. That could be done in a day's time easily.
Marisa's pre-readership was filled within a few minutes of her asking for
them, so that leads me to believe that the people she chose did indeed have
some free time available.
Thoughtful, creative C&C does take longer, and if you recieve a good deal of
this I envy you, but most of us out here would settle for more 'nice story'
comments. Also, if the C&C is for an individual chapter there may not be
anything groundbreaking to say about it. I guess that if we are talking a
finished project released in its totality, you would be more correct than I,
but as far as individual chapters go, C&C doesnt take long at all.
