Mars, as reactionary as she is wont to be, thought it would have
been better to leave Arimus where she lay....  She couldn't bring
herself to kill her....  The threshold between adversary and
compatriot had been crossed.

{"compatriot" is overstating things since Arimus hasn't fought
beside Mars.  More like the threshold between "adversary and
bystander" has been crossed}

The youma is kind of a neat character.
