Black screen.

Oririel (off screen): "Somebody asked me what legends were. I told him that
legends were words said once too many times. (pause x2) Now I'm no more than
words on a page, and soon, perhaps sooner than I can imagine, I shall pass
into legend as well. (pause x2) The good thing about legends is that they're
not forgotten. (pause) But I don't want to be remembered."

Black screen. BEAT. Generic Gregorian church choir. Stay for five seconds.
Flash to Ranma's face, about five years older than he is at the end of the
manga. Instead of his normal black hair and eyes, though, his hair is red and
his eyes are blue, as if the female Ranma had become male, but retained her
original colors. All of his shirt except for the collar is below the bottom
edge of the screen, but from collar looks like, Ranma is wearing Elizabethan
garb. He expression is one of concern and grief. Behind him is stained glass
window, brightly lit in all it's colors. The picture in the window is
apparently the Nephilim of Jewish legend.

Ranma (quiet):
"Don't . . . take . . . her."

End church choir.

Black screen.
Opening song/animation.

Black screen.
Revelations 0:1
Episode 05: Legend

Black screen. Sounds of several helicopters' propellers. Flash to the base of
the propeller. Flash to a point above Tokyo-3, daytime, the camera including
the horizon as well as a good half of the city. It's sunny, but there are
clouds in the distance, surrounding the city as if they were clouds painted
on a dome. Mute the propeller 20%. There is a cross-shaped 'crater' across
the city, where the ground has been apparently torn apart. The buildings
along the crater are in ruins, shattered into large pieces of cement that
line the edge of the carnage. The camera rotates, screen going down the
length of the crater. Several UN military helicopters are hovering below the
camera. Flash to Ritsuko and Misato, sitting inside a helicopter like the
others, Ritsuko on the left, Misato on the right. The door is open, and
they're facing the camera through the door. The faces of the two are in the
shadow of the helicopter's ceiling, the rest of their bodies in the sunlight.
The shadows are completely black.

Misato (unreadable):
"This is horrible."

Ritsuko:
"Isn't it, now?"

Misato (unreadable):
"You say Ranma is responsible?"

Ritsuko:
"Yes. Pilot Saotome is presently being suspended from duty."

Flash to Misato's hand on the edge of the seat, just barely in the light.
It's trembling.

Misato (quiet):
"Can't be . . . is he an angel?"

Ritsuko:
"Presently, we think he is."

Flash to a point inside the helicopter, behind Misato and Ritsuko. Everything
inside the helicopter is black., and Misato and Ritsuko are seen as
silhouettes with color outlines. Outside the open door and windows is the
scene of the cross-crater. Stay for twenty seconds.

Misato (meek):
"What . . . what're you gonna do to him?"

Black screen. Sound of a light turning on. A strong light flashes down to
reveal Gendo at a desk, sitting in his normal position. His forehead, nose,
and cheekbones capture most of the light, leaving the rest of his face almost
completely black, as is the background. Flash to Ranma, a full body shot from
the front. He's tied to a chair, sitting in a similar spotlight, head down.
Three seconds pass, and he looks forward. Flash to a side view of Gendo
facing Ranma.

Ranma:
"Why am I here? Is this a test?"

Gendo:
"No."

Ranma:
"What do you want?"

Gendo:
"I want some answers."

Ranma:
"What answers?"

Gendo:
"You know perfectly well. What did you do last night?"

Flash through over twenty random clips from the night before. The flashes
last for two seconds.

Flash to a side view of Gendo.

Gendo:
"Well?"

Flash to side view of Ranma.

Ranma:
"I was protecting Rei."

Flash to original side view including Ranma and Gendo.

Gendo:
"From what?"

Ranma:
"Thugs."

Gendo: "And you destroyed half of my city. (pause x2) Do you know how many
people died?"

Flash to side view of Ranma. Ranma appears very shocked.

Ranma (shocked):
"People . . . died?"

Gendo (off screen):
"Yes. (pause) What did you do?"

Ranma turns his face down, obscuring it from the light.

Ranma ( totally shocked):
"I went out of control . . . and I've killed without reason . . ."

Gendo:
"Answer my question."

Ranma (quiet):
"I went out of control . . . and I've killed without reason . . ."

Gendo (off screen):
". . . answer me."

Ranma(quiet):
"No. No! (gasp, sob) No . . ."

Begin music, generic Gregorian church choir. Flash to Gendo. He lifts his
chin, exposing more of his face to the light, the light glaring off his
glasses so that you don't see his expression. Stay for a moment. There is an
audible sigh as he lifts his glasses and buries his face in his hands.

Black screen, white characters:

Flash to a point in front of Gendo, ten years younger, wearing a lab coat
over casual clothing, standing in the control room at the NERV testing labs.
The camera is facing him, looking down on him at an angle. Light reflects off
his glasses so that you can't see his eyes.

Tab: Mute following voices 70%. All voices are fast/desperate.
Transmission/echo.

Male A:
"We can't control it! It's still rising."

Female A:
"Percentages have risen over 324%. Rising!"

Male B:
"Disengage neural connections!"

Male C: "The system is refusing to respond! Imput connections to central have
been cut off!"

Female A:
"350 and rising!"

Male B:
"Status of test pilot!"

Female B:
"The pilot is unconscious!"

Male B:
"Activate a secondary display of the entry plug! Visual!"

Female B:
"Yes sir!"

End tab.

Gendo (unreadable)(slow)(over)(speaking over the tab): "I was like that then
. . . like this child before me is now. The differences, however . . . I was
better prepared. (pause x2) Yes. Part of me died that day."

Flash to the plaque on Yui's tombstone. Slide out slowly. Stay for three
seconds. Flash to a diagonal view of Gendo, in his normal clothing, standing
in front of the black peg. The rows of pegs run on in the background.

Gendo (over):
"Yes. I killed her."

Black screen. BEAT.

Flash to Gendo's face, about ten years younger than he is now. He's breaking
out in sweat, his face stricken in fear, tears on his face.

Black screen. BEAT. Flash back.

Gendo:
"(Mute)"

Gendo (over):
"I didn't weep then. I don't weep now."

Black screen, white characters:
FEAR

Gendo (over):
"Sometimes I scare myself."

Black screen. BEAT.

Flash: Gendo is standing in field of tombstones. His back is facing the
camera. It's stormy, though there's no rain, only violent winds. It tears at
his clothing, but he doesn't seem to notice. He's talking to someone, a
specter of a woman.

Specter (Yui):
"When will you leave?"

Gendo: "I shall never. I love this place, and I shall protect that which I
love, else there would be no meaning to what I do."

Specter (Yui):
"Can you live on?"

Gendo:
"I live in the future and the future is unknown. I shall make it so."

Specter (Yui):
"Can I trust you?"

Gendo:
"I have nothing to lie for, nothing to lose."

Specter (Yui):
"Thank you."

With a gust of wind, she blows away like a cloud of smoke before Gendo's
eyes. Flash to a point on the ground in front of Gendo, facing him. He's
looking up at the sky, so that the scene doesn't include his face.

Black screen. BEAT. Flash to a point in front of Gendo, facing him. He's in
his normal position, sitting at the desk in his office. The light from the
windows in the background provide a flare that decreases contrast by 40%.

Gendo: "I remember your name. I have lost you once, and I shall never lose
you again."

Black screen. BEAT. End music. Stay for two seconds.

To be continued . . .

"Okay. That was the fic. How'd you like it? Oh, no, no, no. Forgot. Don't
tell me what you thought of it. Write to me. Yeah. You know my address. You
don't? It's nanashi96@hotmail.com. Thanks."

"This fic was meant to imitate anime style. Sorry if I didn't do a good job.
I'm not all that great with motion. Drawing? Drawing's easy. I am, after all,
an art major. It's just that . . . well? I'm not that great with computers. I
can't do on-line manga. That's why I'm doing this . . . This work doesn't
quite make it to anime, but it's close. Not graphical enough, I'd say. The
visual effects aren't all that great . . . then again, it is rather hard to
see what words are saying, eh?"

"Write to me when you can. As they say, my door is always open . . . or was
it mailbox?"
