room, a point above the right side of the bed. The patient is Shinji, wearing
a blue, sterile hospital shirt. Several machines are hooked up to him on
either side of the bed, variously monitoring his pulse, his brain, his breath
and other stats, all of which are normal. His chest slowly rises up and down.
Stay at this scene for about 20 seconds. Flash to a sign in the hall: Tokyo
University Hospital: Main Branch: Psychiatric Ward

Yui (off-screen):
"How is he, doctor?"

Male Voice (off-screen): "He's fine. (pause) The suicidal tendancies have
been held in check by the medication, but . . . (pause) He still lives in his
fantasy."

Yui:
"Just . . . what is this fantasy?"

Doctor: "It's . . . hard to describe. I'll attempt to give an outline based
on what we've collected in our interviews with him . . . Ms. Ikari?"

Yui:
"Yes?"

Doctor:
"Trust in him."

Episode 03: Watashiwa . . .

Flash to a laboratory, similar to the tank of Reis in the the sub-levels of
NERV, but with only the central incubator. Ranma, naked in his 14 year-old
guise, floats suspended in the LCL within. Stay at this scene for about ten
seconds. Flash to his face. His eyes flash open. Flash to a point right of
Maya, a view including Maya and her console. The three-digit counter on the
top right corner of the console is rising quickly. It stops at 095%. Maya
turns her head to face the camera.

Maya:
"Hypothetical sync rate is 95%!"

Flash to side view of Ritsuko, staring forward.

Ritsuko:
"What are you?"

Black Screen. Fade to bright, hazy schoolyard and cicada sound. Stay for ten
seconds. Flash to Shinji's classroom. Cicada sounds cease. All of the class
is present and facing forward. Oririel and Chie are standing at the front of
the classroom, next to the teacher's podium. The teacher, an old man, is at
the podium, calling off roll. He finishes up.

Teacher: "Two new students are joining our class today, Michiyo Natsume and
Chie, twin sisters."

Flash to Asuka looking at them in annoyance.

"I expect all of you to help them get used to Tokyo-3. (coughs) Would you two
like to introduce yourselves?"

Flash to Shinji turning his head to look at Rei. Flash to Rei, from Shinji's
point of view. She's looking out the window. Flash to Chie's face. She's
smiling.

Chie:
"Good morning. My name is Michiyo Chie, 14 years old. I like to play cello."

Flash to Shinji looking forward at Chie. Flash to Chie. She smiles at him.
Flash to Oririel, also smiling.

Oririel:
"Hello! I'm Michiyo Nuriko. Nice to meet you!"

Flash to Ranma, squinting both eyes at Oririel, as if suspicious.

Flash to a point outside the window, viewing the classroom. Cicada sounds.
Rei is apparently staring at the camera. Behind her, Oririel and Chie take
their seats.

Black screen.

Shinji:
"Coming to the party tonight. Toji?"

Toji:
"Of course I am!"

Asuka:
"Why does ~wonder boy~ get a party? I never got one . . ."

Flash to Fuyutsuki standing in Gendo's office, his back facing the door.
Gendo:
"So it's two girls."

Fuyutsuki: "Yes, sir. From the blow-ups, the girl on the right looks
remarkably similar to Rei. Could she be another clone?"

Gendo: "It's not possible. A clone wouldn't be able to operate unless it had
a soul. As far as we know, there is only one. Have you located the two?"

Fuyutsuki: "Yes. They were transferred to Shinji's school as of this morning.
Documents were all valid."

Gendo:
"Apprehend them as soon as possible."

Fuyutsuki:
"Yes, sir."

Gendo:
"What do you have on pilot Saotome?"

Fuyutsuki: "Doctor Akagi reports that the MAGI indicated a 95% hypothetical
sync rate for the Fifth Child."

Gendo:
"I see. Anything else?"

Fuyutsuki:
"His metabolism and cholesterol level are abnormally good. (pause) Sir?"

Gerndo:
"Yes?"

Fuyutsuki:
"I have a theory about Saotome. Would you hear me out?

Gendo:
"Yes."

Fuyutsuki: "(Raises his hands to cover his mouth as he coughs. Drops them
again.) Though all tests indicate Saotome's human, there is suspicion that
he's an Angel. Angels would theoretically be able to control their sync rate,
and the theory explains why the pilot might have had a 28% sync during his
first battle. (pause) As for why he would fake such a bad sync rate, however,
I have no idea."

Gendo: "(pause) All questions will be answered in due time. (pause) Contact
Ryoji for me. I have a job for him."

Fuyutsuki:
"Yes, sir."

Black screen.

Oririel:
"So, we're hoarding up on fiances again, aren't we, Saotome Ranma?"

Flash to Ranma, standing in a school hallway. He turns around, looking
bewildered. Flash to a man standing on the tip of a pine tree, overlooking
Tokyo-3 in the afternoon sun. His back is toward the camera, so you can't see
his face. He's completely in black, wearing a large trenchcoat and pants.
He's wearing a derby hat. Stay at this scene for ten seconds.

Mr. Penn:
"Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. How ironic."

Black screen.

Ranma:
"Who are you?"

Flash to Misato, walking downhill on a street somewhere in Tokyo-3. Cars
pass. Flash to her face. The expression is thoughtful. Various cars pass as
she continues to walk.

Misato (thinking): Those two children . . . who are they? One of them looks
like Rei. The other . . . I've seen that face somewhere . . . just can't
remember . . . Ranma! She looks like Ranma. Different hairstyle, though. Is
she his sister? What do they have to do with Ranma's energy blast?

Misato grabs her head.

Misato (thinking):
I'm not thinking rationally! There's got to be a connection-"

Black screen. BUMP
Flash to a spot behind Misato's right leg. She falls back on to the ground.
Flash to Misato's face. She's angry.

Misato:
"What do you think you're doing - Kaji-kun. Oh . .  I'm-I'm sorry!"

Flash to Kaji. He smiles his normal smile.

Kaji: "Just wondering what you were thinking. Not everyday you don't notice a
close acquaintance."

Flash to Misato. She's smiling slyly.

Misato:
"Wouldn't you say we're a little more than close?"

Flash to Kaji.

Kaji:
"Hnn . . . (pause) Got some information you might want."

Flash to Misato.

Misato:
"Information?"

Flash back.

Kaji: "Data concerning a certain Saotome Ranma. With a little bit on the
'angel' that appeared last time to the side, of course. (pause) Interested?"

Flash back. Misato's smiling.

Misato:
"(pause) Yes."

Black screen.

Ranma (shouting):
"Stop, you two!"

Flash to Chie and Oririel, walking down an empty street somewhere in Tokyo-3,
Chie on the left and Oririel on the right. They're going downhill, the orange
twilight hitting them from the left. Chie has her two arms straight, holding
the bag with both in front of her skirt. Oririel has her bag slung across her
shoulder with her right arm. Their backs are facing the camera. They turn
around, Chie clockwise, and Oririel not. They appear slightly surprised.

Chie:
Ranma-kun?

Flash to Ranma. He's angry.

Ranma:
"Who are you?"

Flash to Chie and Oririel. Chie looks perplexed. Oririel sneers silently.

Chie:
"Ranma-kun? What are you talking about?"

Flash back to Ranma.

Ranma:
"Don't play with me. You two KNOW me. Who are you?"

Flash to Chie, very confused now.

Chie:
"I . . . I don't know what you're talking -"

Oririel's hand interrupts Chie.

Slide to Oririel.

Oririel:
"(neutral) Leave her out of this. She doesn't know anything."

Flash to Ranma.

Ranma:
"You're . . . me aren't you."

Oririel: "(neutral) No. (pause) And I won't tell you my relationship to you
until the time comes. Maybe not even then. (pause) Chie. Stay out of this.
Saotome Ranma. I challenge you."

Ranma snaps out of his angry expression, and blinks. Twice. Then his
expression gets stern.

Ranma:
"I accept."

Flash to side view containing the two girls. The building the camera sees is
covered with the various silhouettes of the buildings that block it from the
sun. Chie steps aside, leaning against the wall. Slide right. Ranma gets into
a ready position. Flash to a point behind Ranma. The street stretches far
beyond Oririel's back, appearing to end at the horizon. Buildings line either
side, along with the telephone polls and street lights. Oririel just stands
there, facing Ranma. Flash closer, so that the screen contains the back of
Ranma's head and Oririel's face.

Oririel:
"Kekkai."

Flash back. A 'ripple' of light flashes out from the point on the ground
where Oririel's standing. The ripple goes over everything in it's way except
Ranma and Chie, making no apparent change. Flash to Ranma, holding his arms
across his face. Flash to his face. He experimentally peeks out from behind.
Then he drops them completely. Flash to point behind Ranma, who's yelling. He
rushes toward Oririel and begins punching, his hands blurring as he does.
Every time he contacts an invisible surface in front of Oririel. The surface
flashes, stopping his punches. Flash to Oririel's face, through the surface,
smiling.

Oririel:
"It's no use. You're just wasting your strength."

Flash to Ranma, still punching, clenching his teeth with an angry expression.

Ranma:
"Dammit! Why can't I get past this thing!? It's a wall . . . of ki!?"

Flash back.

Oririel:
"This is the wall of the heart. (pause, then her eyes widen) Expand!"

Flash to Ranma's face. He's afraid.

Ranma:
"What!?"

Flash to a point overlooking the battle from Ranma's right. Oririel's AT
field, now glowing orange, expands outwards at a terrifying speed, taking
Ranma with it. Light engulfs the screen. Flash to a point on top of a
building, somewhere in Tokyo-3, facing the battle. What appears to be a big
orange blade of light flashes toward the left, leaving a trail of dust,
smoke, and explosions where it passes. It increases in size as it moves, and
eventually dissipates. Flash to a scene of carnage. Slide down as if falling.
Stop. Rotate right, in an arch a quarter of the circle. Hit the ground so
that the ground is vertical. 'Bounce' twice. Flash to black screen. THUMP
THUMP.

Chie:
"Goodnight, Ranma. Enjoy your party."

Black screen. White characters.
End Episode 03

Black screen. BEAT. The sound of cicadas. Flash to a random hallway in
Shinji's school, with windows on the left. Everything is brightened 30% with
haze. Stay for 10 seconds. The sound of the teacher droning on about the
second impact. Stay for five seconds. Flash to a point at the front of the
Shinji's classroom, facing the class. All students present are looking at
their laptops. All students are present except 2: Ranma and Rei. Flash to
Ranma's desk, sliding left slowly. Stay for three seconds. Flash Rei's desk,
sliding right slowly, stay for three seconds. Flash to a point behind
Oririel, who's bent over her desk supporting her head with her left arm. The
teacher, an old man, is standing at the front of the classroom reading out of
a book on the seconds impact.

Flash to a point right of Oririel's head, facing the Hikaru, who's two rows
behind Oririel and one desk to the left. Oririel is in focus, Hikaru not.
Oririel appears sleepy and is yawning heavily. As she yawns, she moves her
right hand up to her mouth. Oririel goes out of focus, Hikaru coming in.
Hikaru is sitting upright, looking at Oririel with some concern. The bell
rings.

Teacher (Off screen):
"Class is over."

Sounds of chattering and chairs being moved around. Oririel stands up and
places the laptop into her bag. Hikaru sits there, looking at Oririel. Flash
to a point behind Oririel, facing her back. The other students are leaving in
the background, the teacher erasing the board.

Hikaru (off screen):
"Nuriko. Wait."

Oririel turns around, looking slightly confused for about three seconds. She
then flinches, her expression becoming slightly bewildered.

Black screen.

Revelations 0:1
Episode 04: The Party


Flash to battle scene, the fight between Unit 00 and Angel 15, just before
Unit 00 gets it's neural connectors disconnected from Rei. Flash to angel,
lashing out at Unit 00 with its right arm. Unit 00 falls back, hitting a
building and knocking it over. Flash to a car parked on the side of a street.
Large chuncks of cement crash into the ground beside it. A chunk crushes the
car. Flash to Unit 00's cockpit, a point beside Rei's head. The lights are
red, but the primary display is still on, with the Angel standing directly. A
bolt of white light suddenly shoots across the display, hitting the angel's
AT field. The AT field ripples as the light cuts through it like butter. The
bolt hits the left side of the Angel, just below the core, and the Angel
falls to the ground like a downed tree. Unit 02 comes in from the right,
pouncing on the Angel, then stabbing it with the Prog knife. Splurts of blood
fly up across the row of buildings on Unit 02's other side, staining them
like red paint on an abstract painting. Flash to a point at the right of Rei,
facing her. The expression is normal, but she's sweating a lot and panting.

Rei (panting):
"Was that . . . Ranma?"

Flash to Rei's head on her striped pillow, seeing nothing below the neck.
Sound of cicada Light from the window shines the shape of a parallelogram,
sideways across her face, which is half-way lit up. Her eyes are open and
she's sweating.

Black screen.
A telop:
[Only a dream]
Flash:
[Perhaps a nightmare]

Flash to Rei sitting up from her lit side. She's wearing her school uniform.
Stay for ten seconds. Flash to a point above Ranma, who's lying in the
hospital bed with Rei sitting on the stool beside the bed. She's half-lying
upon the bed, her upper body across Ranma's sleeping form, holding his right
arm. Her face is downwards, so you can't see it. There are sounds of quiet
sobbing. (Sobbing continues for all of this scene.)

Rei (off screen)(slow): "At the time, I thought he would never wake up.
(pause) And then I touched him. (pause) And then I saw his mind. (pause) I
knew him like I knew myself. I loved him. (pause x2) Emotions, the ones that
I came to know that moment, are terrible, terrible things. (pause) But those
same emotions that I feared also brought me a delight I'd never known before.
(pause x2) Does he care for me?"

Black screen.

Ranma (screaming):
"Rei!"

Rei:
"Yes, he does. (pause x2) And the more he cares for me, the more . . ."

Flash to the front of Shinji's classroom, facing the class. Sound of cicada
and the old teacher droning on about the second impact. Chie and Oririel are
sitting in various random places, along with Asuka, Shinji, Toji, Hikaru, and
Kensuke. They all have their little laptops open in front of them. Rei is
sitting at about the center of the row next to the window, looking outside.
Ranma is two seats toward the hall. Flash to Rei, looking out the window.
Experimentally, she turns to face Ranma. Flash to Ranma, with a pencil's
eraser-end in his mouth. His blinks both his eyes once and turns his head to
face the window. Flash to Rei, who promptly turns her head to face the window
again, blushing slightly. Flash to Ranma, looking slightly confused. Flash to
Chie, who puts her hand to her mouth as she giggles silently. Freeze. Darken
30%.

Rei (off screen): " . . . I fear him. I fear that he might become angry with
me. I fear that I might annoy him. I fear that I might embarrass myself
before him. I believe the term is shy. (pause x2) Michiyo Chie, the girl who
came to our class today. (pause) She looks like me, or rather, what I would
look like if I was normal. (pause x2) I'm not sure how to put this, but the
AT field the other day . . . (pause) She feels the same way it felt. (pause)
I didn't know what it was then, the feeling Ranma's AT field gave me. (pause)
Ranma's 'ki,' as he calls it, felt good, (pause) an emotion that I learned
was happiness. (pause) But Chie . . . her AT field is made of sorrow. That I
cannot bear. (pause x2) Who is she? . . . "

Flash to a scene of the school courtyard at Shinji's school. The man in the
black trenchcoat, pants, and bowler hat is standing on top of the electric
pole right outside the school walls. He's holding a book in one hand, an
umbrella in the other.

Rei (off screen):
"Who is he?"

The man jumps and vanishes into thin air. A flock of doves fly across the
screen.

Rei (off screen):

Flash to the foot end of Rei's bed, facing the center of the room where Rei's
standing, both hands to her side. She's facing the other direction, holding a
piece of paper in her right hand. She raises her left arm and wipes her eyes
with it. Then she puts it back down, then raises the paper, as if to read it.
Flash to a point above her right shoulder, facing the letter: "Party for
Ranma at Misato's palace tonight! You're invited Rei!  -Misato" Flash to
Rei's face. A smile like Yui's. Black screen.

Rei:
"I am unique. I cannot be replaced."

Black screen. BEAT.

Flash to Gendo's face, about ten years younger than he is now. He's breaking
out in sweat, his face stricken in fear, tears on his face.

Black screen. BEAT. Flash back.

Gendo:
"Yui!"

Black screen.
A telop:
[That day, a part of his heart died.]

Black screen. 10 seconds.

Rei:
"I saw it."

Rei (other):
"What did you see?"

Flash to a point on top of a building, somewhere in Tokyo-3, facing the
battle between Ranma and Oririel. What appears to be a big orange blade of
light flashes toward the left, leaving a trail of dust, smoke, and explosions
where it passes. It increases in size as it moves, and eventually dissipates.
Stay at this scene after it dissipates.

Rei:
"I saw the one named Nuriko, and her sister Chie."

Rei (other):
"And?"

Rei:
"And I was the only one . . . except for Ranma."

Rei (other):
"What happened?"

Rei:
"They . . . Nuriko and Chie are angels."

Flash to a wall, with the line of sight of the camera perpendicular to the
wall, the twilight shining in from the right of the camera, making everything
on the screen cast their respective shadows on the ground to the left. Random
chunks of cement have fallen, ranging in size from miniscule to giant, and
scattered all over. The ground near the center of the screen is clear though,
and Ranma sits there, leaning or sags against the wall. His white school
uniform is bloody, mainly below his mouth where he'd spurted out blood from
the supposed impact against the wall. The cracks on the wall behind him
originate from his back, spreading out in a pattern like a spider web. The
cracks are mainly small, as if the wall were flaking, and they cover the
entirety of the screen, not just on the wall but on the ground as well. Rei
is standing next to him. She crouches down and hugs Ranma's head.

Rei: "I saw it . . . I saw it all. (pause) But when I opened my eyes, it was
as if none of it had happened."

There is a flash to a white screen, lasting for half a second. Flash to same
scene as previous, but everything included is undamaged. No debris is
scattered anywhere; the street is clean. There's just the wall and the floor,
now whole and uncracked, and Rei hugging Ranma. Ranma's shirt is no longer
bloody. Flash to Gendo in his normal position, sitting in a dark room. There
is a strong light source above him, but it's off screen.

Gendo:
" . . . and I shall not lose you again."

Flash back to the previous scene. Ranma and Rei are gone.

Black screen. DING DONG.

Misato (muffled):
"They're here! Shinji! Open the door for them!"

Shinji (muffled):
"I'm coming!"

Barefoot running steps getting louder and louder.

The black screen opens as if a door. Shinji is standing in the front hall of
Misato's apartment, smiling. He's facing something darker than the hallway
behind him, so due to the location of the light source, the back of his head
is brighter than his face; his face is in the shadow of his head, but still
visible. After two seconds, Shinji's face goes serious.

Shinji:
"Rei! What happened to Ranma!?"

Flash to Rei. The background is black, but Rei is fully illuminated, carrying
Ranma on her back. The shadow of Shinji's head is across her stomach.

Black screen. Flash: Two hands brightly illuminated. There's lense glare, but
the background is pure black. The one above is a slender, small hand, nails
well manicured. The one below is larger, rough. The larger one shakes as it
slides slowly toward the smaller one. After five seconds, it grabs hold.
White screen. Fade to Misato, Ritsuko, Shinji, and Rei's faces, the white
ceiling behind them. They look worried.

Misato:
"What happened to you?"

Flash to Ranma's face. Misato's shadow covers his face.

Ranma:
"I, uh, fainted."

Asuka (off screen)(sarcastic):
"Oh, so *Wonder Boy* also has fears."

Shinji (angry):
"Asuka!"

Misato:
"Well, at least he's here. You're not injured or anything, are you, Ranma?"

Ranma:
"No. I'm all right. Just a little dizzy."

Misato:
"Hah! And you had us all worrierd there for a second!"

Flash to Misato, standing up and smiling.

Misato:
"AALLright! Let's party!"

Begin standard 'Misato's happy family' theme song. Flash through party
scenes, drawn in marker, with no internal actions, but being in themselves
pictures of frozen actions, zooming out of initial pictures and including
more and more; the characters having fun at a party. Speed up flashes
gradually, beginning three seconds per picture, ending at half a second. This
lasts for about 40 seconds at least. Include scenes of Kaji showing up late.
Flash to Ranma, drawn as normal, sitting on a chair. The party is still going
on all around him, but he is untouched, unmoved. In the background, the
various other characters are talking and laughing and running around, actions
in fast forward mode, sound, normal. He is apparently concentrating, his
expression unchanging.

Ranma (off screen):
" . . . but the host isn't here. The person this party celebrates has left.

Stop background action. Shinji is lying on the couch right of Ranma's chair,
obviously drunk. He's mumbling, " . . . dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, dizzy,
dizzy . . . " This goes on for twenty seconds. Ranma looks up.

Ranma:
"Rei."

Flash to a point behind Ranma, facing Rei.

Rei: "The others have already left, Ranma-kun. Dr. Akagi asked me to tell you
that you should return home early. There's school tomorrow."

Flash to point behind Rei, facing Ranma.

Ranma:
"Oh, oh, okay . . . Um, you leaving Rei?"

Flash back.

Rei:
"Yes."

Flash back.

Ranma:
"Would you like me to walk you home?"

Rei:
"Yes, thank you."

Ranma gets up and smiles.

Ranma:
"My pleasure."

Flash to a random street in Tokyo-3, night. There are no lights except the
orange street lamps, and quite a few of them flash. Stay for fifteen seconds.

Ranma (off screen):
"So how did you like the party, Rei?"

Rei (off screen):
"I do not know."

Flash to another street.

Ranma (off screen):
"Huh?"

Rei (off screen):
"I have nothing to compare it to."

Another street:

Ranma (off screen):
"You've never been to a party before?"

Rei (off screen):
"No."

Another street.

Ranma (off screen):
"Did you feel uncomfortable, out of place, maybe?"

Rei (off screen):
"No."

Flash to Ranma, head turned left, toward the camera. The motion of the wall
behind him makes it clear that he's walking.

Ranma:
"Then that means you had a good time."

Flash to Rei, blushing slightly, but faced forward, perpendicular to the
camera. The wall behind her is moving as does Ranma's in the previous scene.

Rei:
"Hai."

Flash to Ranma. He smiles a bit at her, then sinks back into thought, his
expression sad. Begin song Before the War, piano version, by Matthew Lien.
Flash to a point behind Ranma and Rei as they walk down the street, the
camera following them as they go. Slowly the camera overtakes Ranma and Rei,
going in front of them. A punk comes into the shot from the right, pointing a
knife at the camera as four others run up alongside him and face the camera.
The camera continues going forward as all this happens, swinging to the right
as it approaches the knife, then turns back on to the scene from above,
facing the punks. It continues moving back until the scene includes Ranma and
Rei. All this is done in a fluid motion. The first punk yells something, and
the others yell back. All of them except the first charge toward Ranma. Flash
to a silhouette of Ranma on top of a rock in a twilight of golden clouds.
Beside him is the silhouette of Akane, lying lifeless, a lump on the rock.
Ranma drops to his knees and picks up Akane to his chest, looks up at the
sky, and cries out. All of this is silent, the music taking the place of all
noise. Flash to point in front of Ranma, facing him. His face is wrenched in
pain. He opens his eyes, revealing the tears. They streak down his angry
face. Slide backwards quickly, past the four charging punks. He opens his
mouth to yell. An orange AT field forms between him and the punks. It expands
very quickly, consuming the punks, getting brighter as it gets bigger. When
it hits the camera, the AT field is white. Flash to a point several hundred
meters above Tokyo-3. A white bolt of light runs straight down a street. At
the second intersection, it explodes three ways, creating a cross-like
illumination. Flash to a side view of Ranma's upper torso, not including
anything above the collar. From the rapid rises and falls of his chest, it's
obvious he's panting heavily. A hand, Rei's, is placed on his shoulder.

Black screen. A telop:
[I don't wish you to kill for me.]

Black screen. White words.
