    Ranma felt a brief sting on the back of his neck.  He briefly 
hesitated, and Shampoo almost took his head off with a powerful 
punch.  A faint tingling began to spread through his body.  He 
tried to dodge another one of her punches, but his body didn't 
respond quickly enough.  Shampoo's fist hit him squarely in the 
face, right between his eyes.

    Shampoo felt a sting on her neck, but ignored it.  She felt the 
tide of battle turning in her favor once more, and a savage feeling 
filled her.  Her lips pulled back into a grin.  She rained blow after 
blow into Ranma's shattering defenses, as her body got its second 
wind.  Her hopes that she might have found a man worthy of her 
blew away like smoke.  A rage seemed to replace those hopes at 
Ranma's failure.  He had brought her closer to a loss against a 
male than anyone ever had before, but he hadn't been able to beat 
her.
