OK here is a Fan fic that was just finished.

Macross 7 is owned by people that I can't remember who they are so don't

sue me.
This is a Self-insertion Fan-fic. No I will not succumb to the usual
effects of
the SI writers. Which being making myself into a god. I don't suffer
from an
oversized Ego. I will just try to tell the story from my perspective as
best as I can.
Also I will be switching between myself and Third-person in order to
tell this
effectively. This story takes place after the events of Dynamite fire.
Author's note: Yes I am a Fire Bomber Nut so what is your point? I
decided
to indulge in one of my greatest fantasies. Yes, that one being able to
hang out with
Fire Bomber and get better at singing their songs.
                     Macross 7 Twist of Fate

I was having one of my normal days. That usually consisted of going to
class, sitting through boring lectures, and nearly falling asleep in
class. For some
reason today was different. I was walking out to the parking lot to
wait for my
friend to pick me up and take me home from class. All I had with me was
three
notebooks, seven compact disks, my CD walkman, my tape walkman, some
tapes,
two pens, four batteries, my headphones, and the clothes on my back. It
was bitter
cold today, and as I waited for my friend I could feel the bite of the
cold air on my
face.

"Damn him!" I swore as I waited for my ride. "I am going to torture
him
when he gets here."

You see my ride hates Fire Bomber and that is what I was listening to.
I was
too engrossed in my tape that I was listening to, to notice that there
was a
shimmering light on the ground in front of me. As I walked forward the
light grew
in size and formed a portal. Being very stupid I walked right through
it.
                              ******
When I stepped out on the other side, I saw that I was in a large wooded
area.
As I looked around I saw that there was a large hole in the middle of
the clearing
that I was in. It was as if something had been dug out and whoever it
was that did
that forgot to fill in the hole. Perhaps it looked familiar I do not
really know I was a
little disoriented.
"Great! Where in the world am I?" I asked aloud. As I thought I was
alone.
Shrugging, I pressed the play button on my tape walkman and began to
sing the next
song that was on the tape. I believe that the next song on that tape
was "Remember
16." I sang that song like I usually sing all Fire bomber songs, from
the bottom of
my heart and usually very loud. I knew that if I ever met Basara or for
that matter
any of Fire Bomber I could say with pride that I understand. What I did
not realize
was that my wish was about to come true sooner than I expected.
Just as I exited the forest, another good song started to play on that
tape.
That song was "Try Again." I was in my usual groove and I was in a good
mood.
And yes I was playing my plus two air Guitar. Heck Fire Bomber always
puts me
in a good mood. I found myself in a large city. I had no idea if this
was Kansas
City or what, but all I knew was that I was lost. While I was looking
around I
accidently walked right into someone. Taking my headphones out but not
shutting
off the music I saw that I had ran into a girl who was about my height.
She had
green eyes and pink hair.
"I am so sorry!" I said. "I did not mean to run into you like that. I
was too
engrossed in my music and I was lost."
"It's alright." She said. "I should have been paying more attention."
"Would you mind if I walked with you to where ever you are going?" I
asked
as I shut off my walkman.
"I don't mind." The girl said. "What's your name?"
"My name is Curry." I said. "What's yours?"
"Mylene Jenius." Mylene said.
"No way." I said. "You can't be Mylene Jenius."
"Why do you say that?" Mylene asked.
"Uh well you wouldn't believe me if I told you." I said. How in the
heck was
I supposed to tell her that where I am from she is only an Anime
character? Well I
was not about to do it just yet.
"Well here is some proof for you." Mylene said and pulled out what
appeared
to be some form of identification. As I looked at it I saw that what
she said was the
truth.
"Ok now I am convinced." I said. Well I had to admit one thing my
fondest
dream had come true.
"Ok now that you believe me, let's get going." Mylene said. "I am
almost
late for rehearsal."
"Alright." I said and walked with her to what was the rough part of
town. I
am not someone who is dense at all. After I met Mylene I knew that I
was in deep
space aboard City 7. We came to a building that looked as if it were
not usable any
more. I was amazed that I was outside the building that the other three
members of
Fire Bomber lived in.
"Um Curry if you would wait here I will ask Ray and the others if you
can
watch us practice." Mylene said and then went into the building.
"Sure Mylene, I will wait." I said. I had no idea that I was actually
in
Akushou. I saw Mylene come running out of the building at top speed.
She was
very happy.
"Come on in." Mylene said. "The others want to meet you."
"The others?" I asked skeptically.
"The rest of my band mates." Mylene said. "You know Ray, Basara, and
Veffedias."
"Then that means you are in Fire Bomber?" I asked.
"You mean you have never heard of us?" Mylene asked.
I decided to play dumb. "I only know the name not the music." I said.
"Well come in and listen to it." Mylene said and then dragged me in the
building.
When I got in the building I could hear someone thumping away on some
drums. I could not believe how much of a fireball Mylene was that day.
I did not
once see her pet, Guvava. I thought that it was some where. When we
got down to
the room that they practice in I could see all of the other band members
waiting for
her.
"Hey Mylene, you're late." said a guy with an outrageous hairdo. "You
really need to take our music seriously."
"Oh, you are one to talk Basara." Mylene said in disgust. I then saw
Guvava
appear from nowhere and it had an angry expression on its face.
"Um Mylene is that the person that you was telling us about." They guy
with
the electronic keyboard said.
"Oh I am sorry." Mylene said with a small bow. "Curry, this is Ray,
Basara,
and Veffedias."
"Pleased to meet all of you." I said.
"Guys, this is Curry." Mylene said. I felt as if I was on display here.

"He he, nice to meet you." Basara said.
"Pleased to meet you." Ray said.
I did not get any response from Veffedias, except for a "twang" on a
cymbal.
I found a comfortable place on the floor and waited for them to start.
I could tell
that for some reason Basara was fired up. It showed when he started the
practice.
"FIRE!!" Basara yelled.
I decided to answer the call back. "BOMBER!!"
The look that I got from Mylene was that of irritation. The expression
on
Basara was that of satisfaction. I immediately recognized the song that
he started.
It was "Holy Lonely Night." Needless to say I managed to keep pace with
Basara
and Mylene as far as singing goes. I sang along as best as I could to
every song that
was being played.
"I thought you did not know any of our songs." Mylene asked.
"He he, I guess I fooled you." I said with a slight laugh.
"Not bad for a beginner." Basara said.
"Well I could use some improvement." I said with a shrug.
"We have a concert if you are interested in going?" Ray said.
"Interested in going? I would be delighted to see Fire Bomber live." I
said.
"Richard would be jealous if he knew that I was at a real Fire Bomber
concert."
"So our others were fakes?" I heard Mylene ask.
"No, it is just that all we have seen is broadcast concerts and that was
it." I
said quickly.
"Oh ok." Mylene said and calmed down. I noticed that Guvava was also
calmer as well.
"Is there some where that I could stay since I will be here a while?" I
asked.
"I have no room." Ray said.
There was a series of thumps on the drums and several taps on the
cymbals.
"I will assume that Veffedias has not room either?" I asked
"Yes, looks that way." Ray said.
"I can't let you stay with me." Mylene said. "Momma would kill me."
"I see. Well that leaves you Basara." I said. "Well do you have any
room?"
"If you don't mind sleeping on the floor?" Basara asked.
"I won't bother me." I said. "All I ask is to have one electrical plug
next to
where I am sleeping."
"Could I ask why?" Mylene asked.
"Well Mylene, I listen to music while I sleep." I said.
"What type?" Mylene asked.
"Only good music." I said. "And the only type that matters."
"Well get your stuff to my room and then let's be off." Basara said.
With that, Mylene showed, me to where Basara's room was at. I had to
climb up a ladder and then I found a space where I could put my stuff
down. I was
not going to surrender my walkman yet. I pushed play on it and then
started to sing
along to the song that was up on the tape. I think that it was
"Submarine Street." I
know I could be heard all the way back to the practice room where
everyone was
waiting for me. When I open the door I saw Ray looking at me like I was
growing
horns and a tail. Pressing stop on the walkman I looked at all of
them. Mylene was
standing there dumb struck. Basara was being Basara. Veffedias had
stopped
drumming when I stopped singing.
"If my singing was that bad, then I will stop." I said as I took out my
headphones.
"I didn't think you could sing that well." Mylene said.
"I can't sing worth crap." I said.
"You do have a strong voice though." Basara said. "Good choice of
music."
All I could do was shrug. I could not help it that I liked to sing Fire
Bomber
loud. We then headed off for the concert.
                              ******
Elsewhere in the fleet, a man was getting frustrated with a game. He
was
well dressed and looked as if he was in the military. He had long blue
hair that was
pulled back into a ponytail. His wire-frame glasses had once again slid
down his
face purely on their own.
"How long must I suffer through this game." The man swore. "I can't
seem
to get the last Materia that I must have in order to defeat Sephiroth."
Thankfully he was interrupted by a call from the bridge. It was by a
brown
haired girl.
"Captain, would you please come to the bridge?" The girl said.
"I am on my way." The man said as he shut off the game console. 'I need

some help on this game. If I ask Miria then she will say that I am no
genius and
can't even beat a simple game like this.'
The instant that he got on to the bridge and sat down, the fleet Advisor

appeared in his slot next to the captain's chair. As he sat down, the
man was still
upset that he could not even achieve that goal.
"Captain Max, have you gotten Knights of the Round yet?" The green-
skinned man asked.
"No I haven't yet, Exedore." Max said. "What was the emergency that I
needed to be up here for?"
"It seems that there is an unknown fleet that is out beyond our
defensive
perimeter." the silver haired bridge officer said.
"Send out a reconnaissance flight." Max said.
"Roger." The bridge officer said.
"Captain?" The brown-haired bridge officer asked. "What could be out
here?"
"I am not sure." Max said. "I don't want to be caught unprepared this
time."
"But Captain?" The brown haired girl asked as she turned around to face
him.
"Don't take your eyes of that monitor." Max said to her.
"Roger." The brown haired officer said and then went back to her work.
                              ******
I was in the van with the rest of Fire Bomber. Mylene was just sitting
and
watching the scenery. Basara was relaxing in the front seat. Veffedias
was, as
usual, drumming on her leg and on any hard surface. Ray was the one
driving. I
was still listening to my Walkman. I think that the song that was
playing was "New
Frontier." I was listening to the song and bopping along to it. Well
when the only
tapes that I had was that of my Fire Bomber song I tend to listen to
them. Sadly, my
batteries died in the middle of the song so I was not at all happy. I
wound up my
head phones and then just sat there in silence.
"Man that sucks." I said out loud.
"What happened?" Ray asked.
"Batteries are dead." I said with a sigh.
"Well you will hear the real thing in a few minutes." Basara said.
"That is of course we are not attacked or something." I said.
I saw Guvava hop out from behind of Mylene's hair. I noticed that it
was
looking at me warily.
"What's wrong with Guvava?" I asked Mylene.
"I don't know." Mylene said. "Guvava, he is harmless."
"Mrt!" I chirped to Guvava. I think Guvava seemed to understand me and
then he was sitting on my shoulder. Mylene was shocked at my display.
"I didn't know that you could speak Guvava's language." Mylene said.
"Well I speak Fluent Mokona, Guvava, and Cabbit." I said with a slight
shrug.
"Mokona?" Mylene asked. "What's a Mokona?"
"Well Mokona is a marshmallow-like critter from Cefiro." I said.
"Right." Mylene said.
"I don't know call me arrogant, but I think that those Jamming birds
need
some real talent." I said off handedly.
"How so?" Ray asked.
"Well get some people that can sing and some better songs and there you
go." I said.
"Well I know that a member was kicked out after our attack on the
Protodeviln, so I am sure that there would be an opening." Ray said.
"You should
apply for it."
"For what place? Singer or Pilot?" I asked. "I can't fly a Valkyrie.
My
singing is horrible so I am not qualified for either."
"I think you should do it." Mylene said.
"It is the place of Singer in the fighter designated J-3." Ray said.
"Now if I could only convince them to get some good songs." I said out
loud.
"Well we are here." Ray said as we pulled up to the concert hall. As I
was
walking in to find my seat I was restrained by Veffedias.
"You shouldn't lie to everyone like that. Tell her where you are from
and
then tell us all the truth." I heard Veffedias say. Her voice was quiet
like the wind
rustling through the trees in spring. I was shocked to hear her speak
at all.
"I will in time." I said. With that she released me and then walked
in.
I noticed that my seat was in the forth row from the front. I was
sitting next
to a man with silver-blue hair and light blue eyes. The outfit that he
was wearing
was a military outfit. I recognized him as Lt. Gamlin Kizaki of Diamond
Force. I
patiently waited for the show to start and was not disappointed when,
for a change,
the concert started on time. I was very impressed when I heard all of
their songs
live. The crowd was cheering and yelling their approval. I saw that
even Gamlin
was getting into it as well. I, on the other hand, was singing along to
all of the
songs. Because I am short I had to stand on one of the chairs to see
the concert. I
was bound and determined that I would stay on track with the songs no
matter what
they did. At the mid point of their concert, I noticed that Basara was
looking over
the crowd. I did not know who he was looking for so I decided to make
myself as
small as I could so I would not be seen. I was so into the music that I
did not notice
that they were wearing their "Sound Energy Converters."
"Everybody, I am breaking with the normal routine for a little while
since I
want to see who here is really into the music." Basara said. "I could
hear him over
everyone in here. Quite frankly I was impressed. The next song that I
sing will be
'Power to the Dream' and if by chance that I hear him again I want him
to come up
here on stage and sing with me."
"I wonder who that was?" I heard Gamlin as he asked someone that was
next
to him.
"Damn you Basara." I swore out loud. "You are just trying to get me to
sing
out so you can get me up there with you. Well it will not work."
Before I knew it Basara had started the song and I could see that he was

starting to glow red with sound energy. I could not resist the urge to
sing along with
him. I mean I am a nut when it came to Fire Bomber. By doing that, I
was spotted
by Basara and the sound energy beam landed right on me. This was the
first time
that I actually felt how powerful "Anima Spiritia" was. I was paralyzed
in awe.
Everyone in the crowd then turned and looked at me. I saw the
expression on
Gamlin's face and it was that of shock.
"Go on up there and sing with him." Gamlin said. "What could it hurt?"
"Aside from the fact that I can't sing." I said bluntly.
I heard Basara stop singing. Then the entire crowd started to part. As
I
looked up I saw that Basara was now standing right in front of me.
"Come on now let's rock this stadium." Basara said.
"Like I said I can't sing worth crap." I said.
"That's not what I heard." Basara said. "Now come on."
"Why?" I asked.
"Come on or I will drag you up there." Basara said as he walked back up
to
the stage.
Sighing, I followed him back up to the stage. I figured that he would
keep his
promise of dragging me up on the stage. When I got up there I could
hear the crowd
starting to cheer. I saw that Basara had set his guitar down and was
pulling off his
"Sound Energy Converter." He then walked over to me with the thing in
his hands.
"Put it on." He said.
"Why?" I asked skeptically
"Well if you put your heart into this next song this will react to it."
Basara
said
"Ok." I said and then put it on. I knew that I could not even get my
singing
up to the point where it would react. "What song?"
"How about 'My Soul for you'?" Basara asked.
"Sure why not." I said and then I saw that he pulled on another "Sound
Energy Converter" as well. As soon as he played the first note of the
song I could
feel my own "spiritia" rise to a point of where I lost my stage fright.
On cue I
started the song and sang it from the bottom of my heart. I do not know
why but I
really got into the song and well the rest of Fire Bomber just went
along with it. I
could swear that Basara was going to ask where I have heard his songs
before and I
will have to tell him. However, It will be after the concert. As soon
as I finished I
shrugged out of the thing and started to walk back to my seat. However,
the crowd
wanted to hear more. Naturally I wanted to do more, but this was a Fire
Bomber
concert. I saw that Basara just nodded his head in agreement. I then
put the thing
back on and then we sang one more song together before I went back to my
seat.
My last song that I sang with him was "Try Again." After that I went
back to my
seat and listened to the rest of the concert. It was short however,
since the battle
claxons were screaming. I saw all of Fire Bomber leave the stage and
then head
back to Akushou.
"Well it looks like I will be walking home from here." I said to myself
as I
left the concert hall.
Fishing around in my coat pocket I found my Walkman and some more
batteries. Putting in the headphones I started to walk home from the
concert. I was
singing along to the song that was playing on the tape. It was
"Totsugeki Love
Heart." About half way home I was stopped by a car. A man about my size
with
glasses stepped out. He was wearing a military uniform and was carrying
a really
strange instrument.
"Good evening sir." I heard him say over the roar of my music.
Pressing stop on the tape player and taking the headphones out I
responded.
"Can I help you with something?"
"I was wondering if you were the one that was generating all of that
sound
Energy before the end of the concert?" The man asked.
"That depends on who I am talking to?" I said cautiously. I had an idea
as to
who I thought this was, but I was not for certain.
"I am Dr. Chiba," The man said. I was right and I took at least a good
two
steps back from him.
"What exactly do you need me for?" I asked.
"Well I would. . .," Dr. Chiba started but was interrupted by a phone.
"Perhaps we can discus this later?"
"I have no problem with that," I said as I put my headphones back in and

walked down the street singing. I was determined that I was not going
to be
recruited into the Jamming birds.
Sadly that was not to be the case. It seems that Dr. Chiba came back.
"I am sorry to have to ask this," Dr. Chiba began. "But until we find
someone else could you fill in for the singer in J-3?"
"Only if I get to keep my headphones," I asked.
"If that will help you focus then I don't see why not," Dr. Chiba said.

Shrugging, I got in the car and sat down next to him. I had to know
what
song they sung. I had an idea, but I wanted to be sure.
"Um excuse me Dr. Chiba, but what song do the Jamming Birds sing," I
asked.
"I believe that Col. Barton has them singing 'Riding in your
Valkyrie,'" Dr.
Chiba said.
I just groaned in disgust. I liked the song yes but it did not have the
desired
effect.
"Forgive me for saying this but that song is ineffective," I said.
"What would you suggest that they sing?"
"Well for starters I suggest that they coordinate with Sound Force and
go that
route."
"I see. And what were you planning on singing?"
"What ever comes up on my tape."
"And what is on your tape?"
"Fire Bomber. I just hope these batteries hold out."
"They should hold out. The question being will your voice hold out for
the
entire battle?"
"I would hope so. There is one thing that I do require from you or from
the
Captain."
"And that would be?"
"Unless it is an emergency I wish to be left alone."
"I understand, but if you were to be apart of the Jamming Birds then you

would always be on call."
"Personally I would much rather take the chance with my own Valkyrie and

become a member of Sound Force than put up with that blowhard Barton," I
said as
I got out of the car at the military headquarters.
What I did not realize was that Col. Barton was standing right behind
me.
He was not at all happy. Frankly I did not care. I hated Barton with a
passion and I
made it plain as day as I walked in to get my flight suit on. I decided
to sing
"Totsugeki Love Heart" a capella as I walked past him. I know that
irritated him.
As I got in the room where I was putting my flight suit on I noticed
that the pilot
was also in here as well.
"Ah I see you are the one that will be filling in for her now," The
pilot asked.
"Only for today and that is it," I said coldly as I got my flight suit
on. "Now
let's get this show on the road."
"Shouldn't you leave your walkman here," He asked. "This is the song
that
we sing."
I was handed the lyrics to the song. I promptly wadded them up and
threw
them in the trash can.
"Why did you do that," He asked.
"For a number of reasons. The biggest one being that it is
ineffective," I said
as I walked out to the Valkyrie. It was then that I remembered the type
that the
Jamming birds were in. They were in the 'Cannon Fodder' Valkyrie the
VF-11
Thunderbolts.
"I am cursed I know it," I said with a resigned sigh. "Why did this
have to
happen to me?"
Reluctantly I crawled into the compartment that designed for the
singer. As
soon as the dual canopy closed around me I put my headphones in my ears
and then
I pulled my helmet on. As soon as I was settled, the Valkyrie
launched. Granted I
was pressed back in the seat from the force of the take off. When we
were in space
I could see the enemy in front of us. I could tell that the ships were
Meltrandi in
origin. I was feeling rambunctious for some reason.
"Alright listen to me, if you so much as fire one shot at any of the
enemy I
will sing very off-key right in your ear when we land." I said to the
pilot.
"Yeah what ever." I heard the pilot say.
I realized that the helmet was not at all fitting for singing. I pulled
it off and
threw it at my feet.
"Much better." I said as I was getting fired up. "Yosh!! Iikuze!!!!"
The instant I hit play on my walkman I found the right song to start.
The
song was "Try again." I was determined to get in the mood and sing my
heart out.
It seemed that I had picked the right song since my whole cockpit area
started to
glow. Something about that song always gets me fired up. Even as the
Meltrandi
started to fire around us I was not at all scared. As soon as that song
finished an
even better one came up next. It was 'New Frontier.' It seemed that I
managed to
keep pace up until they all ran off.
"Man what is this?' I swore as I got out of the Valkyrie after we
landed. "Is
my singing that bad?" I could see that Col. Barton was waiting to yell
at me. I was
in no mood to deal with him.
"What is your problem Barton?" I asked. "They left and I hope that you
are
satisfied?"
"No I am not happy at all." Barton fumed. "You did not sing what you
are
supposed to."
"Listen I sing what I want, when I want to. And neither you nor the
military
can make me do other wise." I said as I brushed by him to change. As I
am pulling
off the flight suit I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. Turning
around I saw that
Gamlin was waiting for me.
"Something I can help you with," I asked him.
"I was wondering if you needed a ride back to where you were staying,"
Gamlin asked.
"Sure thing," I said. "I am staying in Akushou with Basara."
"Ok I know where that is," Gamlin said.
As we were driving back to Akushou I decided to sing to calm my nerves
down. The song that I sung was 'Kimi ni.' It seemed that every time
that I sing that
song I manage to calm down enough to where I don't want to strangle
someone. I
noticed that Gamlin was looking at me strangely when I finished it.
"Is there something wrong," I asked.
"I didn't know that you knew any of Mylene's songs," Gamlin said.
"I only know a few and this is my favorite," I said. "I found out that
'Kimi
ni' always calms me down."
"I see." Gamlin said. "So what do you think of Mylene?"
"She is cute, but a bit young for me."
"Young? How old are you?"
"I am twenty-three."
"You are lying. You can't be more than sixteen at most."
I gave Gamlin one of my "Oh you didn't know?" stares and then sighed. I

noticed that we had arrived outside of the Building that Basara was
living in.
"Gamlin, yes I am twenty-three, not sixteen. Now do you see why I said
I
think Mylene is a bit young for me?"
"Uh yeah."
"Besides I am surprised that you haven't tried to win her heart."
"Well I tried, but she said that she also likes Basara as well."
"Ah well that is just one more reason for me to not to try to ask her
out."
"Why? Do you like her," Gamlin said and then stopped talking.
"Personally speaking yes I like her. It is just I don't think that I
would be
acceptable to either of her parents."
"Now what makes you think that Papa and Momma would not like you?"
I froze when I heard that voice. I knew that it was Mylene and she had
heard
everything. I felt like an idiot. Slowly turning around I saw her
looking at me. I
noticed that Guvava was sitting on her shoulder with a starry-eyed
expression. I
really did not want to answer any questions at the moment. I just put
my
headphones in and hit the play button. The song that came up was
'Planet Dance.'
The instant it started I was halfway to the door and singing away. I
could swear that
I could hear Mylene start to yell at me for not answering her question.
I was tired
and I needed my sleep. I walked up the stairs to where Basara's room
was, opened
the door, climbed up the ladder and went to where I laid my stuff down.
I passed
Basara working on a new song. He was sitting in the middle of the room
with his
guitar and music stand writing down the notes and playing his guitar.
"Yo," I said as I walked past.
All I got was a look and then he went back to working on what he was
doing.
I was tired so all I did was grab a pillow, plug in my CD walkman and
put in one of
my Fire Bomber CDs. I then put in my headphones and went to sleep.
                              ******
Basara woke up in the middle of the night. It was mostly because he
could
hear the call of nature. As he walked passed his houseguest, he thought
that he
could hear the sounds of singing. Getting closer what he thought he
heard was the
truth. What he heard was: '. . . FLY AWAY-FLY AWAY Nobotte yukooh TRY
AGAIN-TRY AGAIN Kinooh ni te wo futte FLY AWAY-FLY AWAY Shinjiru
kagiri TRY AGAIN-TRY AGAIN.'
'So he sings in his sleep?' Basara thought. 'He must be really into my
music.'
Shrugging, Basara walked off to answer the call.
The next morning, Basara was up and about. He was trying to be
considerate
for his guest who was still sleeping. While he was milling about his
room the door
below slammed wide open. As Basara looked down he saw that it was
Mylene that
burst in.
"Where is he," Mylene fumed. "I know that he is here and I want to have
a
talk with him."
"Mylene could you be a bit quieter, he is still asleep," Basara said
disgustedly.
Mylene fumed a bit and then climbed up the ladder to where Basara was
sitting. In her case if looks could kill she would have killed Basara
right now.
When she got to the top she could see the sleeping form lying on the
floor. Mylene
walked over to him and then started to poke at him to wake him up.
"Curry I know you are awake so get up," Mylene said. She got no answer.

In fact what she heard was enough to startle her. '. . . Nigatsu no

Mylene was stunned. This was the first time that she had ever heard what
she
did.
"B-Basara did you hear what I just did," Mylene asked.
"Yes I did," Basara said. "I heard it last night when I woke up."
"I can't believe that he is asleep and singing," Mylene said.
"Well would you wake him up I want to talk to him," Basara said.
"And how do you intend that I wake him up," Mylene asked.
"I dunno sit on for all I care," Basara said as he climbed down the
ladder.
And sit on him she did. In fact Mylene sat down right on his chest so
he
could not breathe.
                              ******
The last thing that I remember was feeling something heavy being placed
on
my chest. I could not breathe. I was in a dream where I was in the
middle of a
dogfight in a Valkyrie and I was singing. Then the cockpit exploded and
I was hit
by something hard and could not breathe. Just before everything faded
to black, I
woke up with a jerk. I was greeted with a face full of pink hair and a
view that I did
not want to see when I woke up. All I did was tap Mylene on the back.
When she
looked at me, all I did was motion for her to get off of me. She
happily obliged and
then I was able to get up off of the floor.
"Good morning Curry," I heard her say.
"Errph," was all that I grumbled as I shuffled passed her. I am not a
morning
person at all. And my vocabulary skills are that of a primitive person.

"Hey, Curry since when do you sing in your sleep," I heard Basara say.
"Grrf," I grumbled as I walked into the bathroom.
After I splashed some water on my face I was a bit more awake. I then
realized that I did not have any change of clothes.
"Um I hate to ask this but is there anyway that I could have someone
spring
for some new clothes," I asked after I walked out of the bathroom. "I
did not plan
to end up here so I did not have a change of clothes."
"Well I think I could have Momma take you, but before I do I want you to

answer a few questions for me," Mylene said.
"What do you want to know," I asked. I knew that this would come and
from
the look on Basara's face, I had better answer the questions.
"Well first thing I want to know is why do you think that Momma and Papa

would not approve of you?"
"Well let's just say I am no Ace Pilot like Gamlin is or whatever your
Father
would approve of," I said. "I am just a nobody."
"No you are not a nobody," Mylene said. "I think that once Mamma meets
you she will not have any problems with you at all. Now my other
question is why
do you sing in your sleep?"
"I dunno, I just do," I said. It was the truth I still do not know why
I do it. "I
am not lying here."
"Ok I guess I will accept it," Mylene said.
"Now I have a question for you," Basara said.
"Ok shoot," I said. I really hated being on display.
"Where are you from really," Basara asked.
"You want the truth?"
"That would be nice," Basara said.
"Well, where I am from all of this is just an Anime," I said. "I mean
come on
do you really think that I would have known all that I do by just living
on City 7?"
"You are a bit crazy," Basara said. "Now tell us the truth, where are
you
really from?"
"I am telling you the truth," I said.
About this time I heard the door open and then another person climbed up
the
ladder. It was Ray
"OH Basara I fired the other Producer," Ray commented.
"Friggin bitch, how dare she try that to her. I should put her in the
reactor for
that," I growled. "In fact where's a gun I will just shoot that bitch."

The expression that I saw on Mylene's face was that of shock.
"How do you know about that," Mylene asked.
"Yes, how did you know about that,' Ray asked.
"It is a long story," I said to Ray. "Besides what happened to Akiko?"
"Um, well that is a long story," Ray said stammering.
I left it at that and then after he left I sighed in relief.
"So how did you know about that," Mylene asked.
"As I said Mylene where I am from you are just an Anime," I said.
"Prove it," Mylene said.
"Ok Basara remember way back when you and Gamlin were trying to save
City 7 from a sun?"
"Yes I remember," Basara said. "What about it?"
"Well the sun burn that you and Gamlin was silly looking."
"What sunburn," Mylene asked
"Well Mylene, Gamlin had a sunburn that looked like the visor of his
helmet.
Basara here had a sunburn that was came around his glasses."
"Ah I see," Mylene said. I saw Gamlin's but I didn't know about
Basara's."
"Now do you believe me," I asked.
"Ok now we believe you," Mylene said. "Now I will introduce you to
Momma and get the shopping done."
With that Mylene dragged me off to go meet her mother. I was not to
thrilled
to meet her mother. I knew of Miria Falina Jenius by reputation only.
I shuddered
to think about what she would think about me. I grabbed my trench coat
from the
hook by the door and followed her to her car.
As I sat down, I noticed that Guvava hopped out from behind her hair and

looked at me. The expression that he had was one of contentment. I
decided that I
was going to try to be nice to Guvava. I chirped out a little greeting
to him and he
responded in kind.
"You know something," Mylene said. "I think that Guvava likes you."
"Cool," Was all I said as I put my head phones in and dropped the
passenger
seat back into a reclining position. As I pressed play on the tape
player the song
that came up was 'Planet Dace.' I needed to get totally woke up so I
decided to start
singing along with the tape. I saw that half way through my singing
that Mylene
started to sing a song of her own. I stopped the tape and heard that it
was 'My
Friends' that she was singing.
Taking out my head phones I started to sing along with her. This lasted
all of
the way into City 7 and up the elevator to her mother's office. I was
standing just
behind Mylene when she walked in to the office. For the first time I
actually met
Miria Falina Jenius.
"Momma I was wondering if you could do me a favor," Mylene asked.
"What is it Mylene," Miria asked.
"Well you see a friend of mine just dropped in unexpectedly and I was
wondering if you could spring for something for him to wear," Mylene
asked.
"What!?" Miria exclaimed. "He should have his own clothes."
"Mrs. Jenius, may I say something," I asked. I was nervous as anyone
would
be facing down Miria.
"And you are," Miria asked. I could feel the irritation in her voice.
I also
noticed the little nervous twitch that cropped up when I addressed her
as Mrs.
Jenius. Was there something that I was missing?
"I am the friend that Mylene was talking about," I said.
"How do you know my daughter," Miria asked.
"Well I sorta bumped into her and we became friends," I said.
"I see well I would like to more about you before I decide to accept
Mylene's
request," Miria said as she got up and walked toward me.
I was a bit scared to be scrutinized by her. I mean first off this is a
living,
breathing Meltrandi. Of which I have never met before in my entire
twenty-three
years of life. Second of all just meeting her was an honor.
"What do you want to know about me," I asked.
"Where are you from," Miria asked.
"Momma please," Mylene sighed.
"Well it is a long story, Mrs. Jenius," I said. "But, let's just say
that I am not
from around here at all."
"What could you offer my little girl," She then asked. I was nervous
about
this question. I wish I knew what she was getting at. I decided to
take a stab at
what she wanted
"Well I think that I could be someone that would always be there for her
no
matter what the situation. I also think that I could be a friend and a
confidant as
well," I said. Well that was the truth. I was not going to say that I
was smitten by
her. I mean come on, seeing her in an Anime is one thing, but seeing
her in Real life
is something totally different.
I noticed that the expression on Mylene's face was that of someone that
was
embarrassed and amazed at what I said.
"I see," Miria said. "Well from what I can tell you seem to be a nice
guy, so
I think that I will accept Mylene's request and help you out."
"Th- Thank you Mrs. Jenius," I stammered.
"Please call me Miria," Miria said.
"Ok Miria and thanks."
We waited until much later and then Miria took us to get me clothes. I
was
happy none to say the least. In fact I think that I caught a hint of
acceptance from
Miria. I was also in her debt as well. There was almost do way that I
could pay her
back for this. I would figure something out though.
                              ******
We returned to Akushou several hours later. As we were walking into the

building we were giggling and talking about many things. Basara was
waiting for us
when we got back. He had a strange look on his face.
"What is this," He asked waving a CD of mine in front of my face.
Grabbing it I notice that the CD that he was waving was the English Fire
CD.
I felt really bad about having that CD with me.
"Oh that, Let's just say that this CD was a waste of $45," I said. "The

people on it can't sing."
"I noticed," Basara said in disgust. "Why do you have it in the first
place?"
"Dunno I just grabbed it," I said as I climbed up the ladder with all of
my
bags. "Hey Basara, do you have a spare dresser drawer that I could put
my clothes
in?"
"You can use mine since I don't have any need for it," Basara said.
"Thanks."
I put up my clothes and then grabbed a new set so I could take a
shower. It
was nice to actually have a decent set of clothes to wear. Running a
comb through
my hair I could see that Basara and Mylene had already left. I first
checked the
practice room and I saw that they were in there starting to practice.
I will admit that I enjoyed their practice sessions as much as I enjoyed
their
concerts. This was always a special treat for me. In particularly
because I could
swear that Basara and Ray wanted to add another member to the band. In
the
middle of the practice they all stopped playing and Ray looked at
Basara.
"Should I ask her what she thinks," Ray asked.
"If you want to," Basara said as he sat down.
"Mylene, what would you say if I told you that we want to add a new
member to the band and to Sound Force," Ray asked.
"I would want to know who and why," Mylene said.
"Well the why is because we found someone with as much vocal talent as
both you and Basara. In fact Dr. Chiba said that he was making the
Sound energy
detector go wild all night last night," Ray said.
I noticed that Mylene was looking at me with an expression of
bewilderment.
"Get out of here Ray," Mylene said. "The only one that can do that is
Basara."
"Well that is not what Dr. Chiba says," Ray said. "In fact if you
recall
during the battle the other day one of the Jamming Birds was not
screaming in
terror. In fact I was registering a massive amount of Song energy from
J-3."
"So Curry what do you say," Basara asked. "You want to become part of
Fire Bomber and of Sound Force?"
I choked on the lemonade that I was drinking. I could not believe what
Basara just asked me.
"Well I would be honored, but there is just two big problems and several

small problems," I said.
"And they are," Mylene asked.
"Big Problem number 1. Barton thinks that I am one of the Jamming
Birds.
Big Problem number 2. I can't fly a Valkyrie. The small problems are
this a: I
can't sing; b: I can't play an instrument at all; c: I get stage fright
too easily; d: I
would just be a burden to you all."
"Listen Curry," Mylene said. "I sure that you could tell Col. Barton
that you
don't want to be in the Jamming Birds. Ask Gamlin to go with you. As
for flying a
Valkyrie I think that Momma, Gamlin or Ray could teach you how to fly.
As for the
small problems, you can sing I have heard you enough times to know
otherwise.
Either Basara or I could teach you how to play an instrument if you
would like."
"I can't teach what I do," Basara said.
"Oh, you taught Rex how to pilot a battroid," Mylene fumed.
"She has you there Basara," I commented dryly.
"Anyway, I can help you get over your stage fright and no you will not
be a
burden on us at all," Mylene said. "Isn't that right Ray?"
"I guess so," Ray said.
I had to laugh at Ray's response.
"Well Basara would you be willing to teach me to play the Guitar," I
asked.
"I am sorry if things get dumped on you, but if you don't want to then I
understand."
I really hated asking him to teach me. I mean I was already staying
with him
and now I am asking this of him as well. I kinda felt as if I was
imposing on him.
"I suppose that I could teach you, but I have to ask some things of you
first,"
Basara said.
"What is it," I asked.
"Get rid of that CD in your backpack first. And tell Barton that you
quit the
Jamming Birds."
"Done and done," I said. "Now how do I get to see Col. Barton?"
About that time several guys wearing uniforms of the United forces
arrived
and interrupted our discussion.
"Col. Barton wishes to see you," One of the guys said. I noticed that
seven
others surrounded me. I fixed each and everyone of them with my
stare-o-death
and then said politely to him.
"I was wanting to speak to him as well," I said acting like Kasumi
Tendou.
The soldiers were shocked to see that I was going to go peacefully. As
I
walked out and sat down in the car I gave Basara the thumbs up and a
slight
mischievous grin. I noticed that he had a look of confusion on his
face. This would
be the one thing that I would not tell him about. Simply put I think
that he would
yell about it. The ride was a long one. I hated long car rides since I
usually get leg
and knee cramps.
When we arrived at Col. Barton's office, I was still in my chipper
mood. In
fact I think that I scared the living crap out of several soldiers.
When I was left
alone with him I was still clam and collected.
"Col. Barton, I would like to inform you that I no longer wish to be a
part of
the Jamming Birds. The reason being that I am just not cut out for it,"
I said as
nicely as possible.
"You will stay a part of the Jamming Birds and that is final," Col.
Barton
said. "You are the only one of them that has been effective."
"Col. Barton I can't. I have been given a better offer and I am not
going to
pass it up," I said. I was getting irritated with him.
"What offer were you given that was better than this?"
"Sound Force!"
"You took and oath to the United Forces to be a member of the Jamming
Birds."
"Now there's something that I don't remember doing. If I remember
correctly, I was asked to sing in J-3 and that was it."
"Still you have an obligation to sing our songs."
"NO! That is where you are wrong Col. I will sing what my heart
dictates
that I'll sing. If that's Fire Bomber then so be it. You will not tell
me what to sing.
By the way, if I did not fear punishment by the local Military and
civilian
Government, I would want to beat you senseless for what you wanted to do
to
Mylene. So I will leave you with this warning, If you ever, and I mean
ever try to
get me to be one of the Jamming Birds again, then I will be back, but
that time I will
not be as nice."
"What would you do?"
"I would Duct Tape you to a chair, Turn on Speaker Pod Gamma and then
sing Fire Bomber through it very loud and off Key. That also goes for
if you do
anything to harm Mylene as well."
As soon as I was finished spouting off I threw open the door and walked
out.
I noticed that Gamlin was waiting for me.
"Don't you think that was a bit harsh," Gamlin asked.
"Nah, I was being nice," I said with a smirk.
"Remind me never to piss you off," Gamlin remarked. "Uh Mylene wanted
me to take you home."
"Ok," I said and then I remembered that I needed to get rid of a CD.
"Hey
Gamlin where is the PA system to Barton's office and quarters?"
"Why," Gamlin asked. "What are you planning on doing?"
"Well I am getting rid of a CD that I don't want."
"What is it?"
"English Fire."
"Huh?"
"It's bad trust me."
"Ok it is over there," Gamlin said as he pointed to it.
I found the slot to put in a CD and a headphone jack. I plugged in the
headphones and then handed them to Gamlin.
"Here take a listen," I said as I cued up the English version of Planet
Dance.
He only heard the first verse and the start of the second verse before
he ripped off
the headphones and handed them to me.
"That is awful," Gamlin said his voice laden with disgust. "How can you

listen to that?"
"I don't. Basara thought that it was horrid and now you see what I am
going
to get my point across to Barton with."
"Oh You are mean," Gamlin said.
"Hey I can't forgive him for what he wanted to do to Mylene on two
separate
occasions. In fact I won't forgive him."
I then set the CD player on constant random repeat and the switched it
on in
his office and in his quarters. We then both left the building soon
afterward.
                              ******
After Gamlin dropped me off with in walking distance I saw a girl about
eighteen or nineteen with blond hair. She was wearing a white sun dress
with a
white hat. She had her arms full with flowers. I also saw that she had
a small boom
box and a Fire Valkyrie plushie attached to it. I had to silently laugh
because I
knew who she was. I politely said hi to her and then walked on. As I
walked I
fumbled around and found my tape. Putting in the walkman and pressing
play I
noticed that the song that came up was 'Never Say Die.' By the time that
song was
finished I was half way to what I now called home. I knew if I was
given a choice
to either stay or go home, I would be hard pressed to decide. I knew
that if I left
and returned home then I would miss Mylene. However, if I stayed I
would have to
have all of my Anime and the like.
When I got to the door of the building I had noticed that 'Never Say
Die' was
recorded twice. Back to back no less. I was belting it out when I
noticed that
Basara was just leaving his room. All I did was wave and then walked in
the room.
I did not get in the door for to long, before I felt someone tap me on
the shoulder.
When I turned around I noticed that it was Mylene that did that.
Pushing the stop
button, I pulled out the headphones.
"Hey Mylene, thanks for having Gamlin come get me," I said as I put up
my
coat.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go do something," Mylene asked.
"Such as?"
"Well we could go get a soda and talk."
"I don't see why we couldn't."
"Alright let's go."
Sighing, I put my coat back on and then followed her to her car. As we
were
driving, I could tell that Mylene was happy. About what I did not
know. All I
could tell was that she was smiling. Guvava was also happy as well.
That was
obvious to tell.
"Mylene, why are you so happy," I asked. I was nervous about why she
was
like that.
"Because I have made a decision," Mylene said. "I have decided who I
want
to be with for the rest of my life."
I tried press myself into the door of her car. I was in that much
shock. She
saw me doing that and just laughed.
"What's wrong with you," Mylene asked. "I am happy and I want you to be

the first to know who that person is."
"Ok who is it," I squeaked out.
"Nope not gonna tell you until we meet Poppa," Mylene said teasingly.
I just stared at her and sighed. This was going to be a long day I just
knew it.
We arrived at the Soda shop to find a man waiting for us. I could tell
that he
was a tad bit over dressed for this kind of business. I recognized him
almost
immediately. This was Mylene's father Captain Maximilian Jenius.
Another person
that I only knew by reputation. I waited until Mylene introduced me.
"Ah Mylene is this your friend that your mother was talking about," he
asked.
"Yes it is," Mylene said. "This is Curry, um what is you last name?"
"Coffelt," I said. I had forgotten that I did not tell her and now I
felt like a
dunce.
"Curry this is my father Captain Max Jenius," Mylene said.
"A pleasure to meet you Captain," I said as I extended my hand to shake
his.
"The same," Max said as he shook my hand. "Now Mylene you said that
you had made your decision about who you wanted to be with."
"I did," Mylene said as she tried to stop laughing.
"Anyway, Curry tell me about your self," Max asked as he waited for his
daughter to stop laughing.
"Well there is not much to tell," I said. "I am just living in Akushou
and am
good friends with Fire Bomber."
"I don't remember you ever being on this ship," Max said.
"Well tell you what, how about I tell you and Miria the entire story
some
time," I said. "Mylene knows the whole thing and I want her there to
try to help me
explain."
"I see," Max said. "Well Mylene are you done giggling?"
"Yes I am," Mylene said. "The person that I have Chosen is. . ."
At this moment I needed to use the men's room so I got up and left.
                              ******
Max and Mylene watched Curry get up and leave in the direction of the
men's room.
"Well, who is it," Max prompted.
"Him," Mylene said as she indicated the person that was going into the
men's
room. "He is the one that I want to be engaged to."
"You can't be serious," Max asked. "Curry? Does he share the same
feelings for you?"
"Well I heard him say that he liked me to Gamlin," Mylene said. "I
honestly
thought that he would want to know who I decided on."
"So did I," Max said.
                              ******
While washing my hands I sneezed. I knew that those two were talking
about
me. It only made sense that they were doing that. I came to the
unobvious
conclusion that Mylene had chose me. I don't understand why though. I
mean
come on, either Gamlin or Basara would be better for her. Quite frankly
Basara
would be even better. As I stood in front of the mirror I saw someone
appear
behind me. He was about my height and looked like me in about twenty
years.
Well that was not saying much since I have not changed much in six
years.
"Ah so there you are," the person said.
"Who are you and what do you want," I asked.
"My name is unimportant and as to what I want is to send you home," he
said.
"Ain't gonna happen," I said.
"Why," he asked. "Surely you will miss your friends and your family."
"My friends yes," I said. "I could care less about my family."
"Alright," He sighed. "What must I do to convince you to go home?"
"You can't really," I said.
"What about all of your Anime," He asked.
He knew where to hit me. As an obsessed otaku that I am I could not
bare to
be with out it.
"I don't want to leave Mylene, yet I don't want to leave my Anime
either," I
thought aloud. "What guarantees can you give me that I will be able to
return if I
want to?"
"I can't," he said. "You can either stay or go."
"Listen if I do decided to stay I want time to move my Anime stuff
here," I
said.
"That is not a problem," he said. "So I take it you only have just a
little bit of
stuff?"
As I thought about my house and how much I had I had to laugh.
"So I have to choose either to stay or to go," I asked.
"That's right," he said.
"Well then I choose to . . ."
