I'm surprised they didn't ignore them completely. To oversimplify, tabs
aren't an ascii character, they're a placement code. Use the standard 5
spaces instead, OR double space between paragraphs. Personally, I think
the latter is more fool proof. Notice that's what you did in your
original message.
