Actually that world can open up just about anything you want.  Go for
it!

Yes, no reason others can't use the alternate world from Episode 26 as
well. There are lots of possibilities there. I played the horny teenager
angle...with some impending doom implied from the naked women in the
theater. Yes, I know they weren't naked in episode 26...call it dramatic
license. :) And no one has complained about them being naked yet...

The idea of Kensuke writing a fictional Eva world with them as the
characters is interesting, but not sure if it would be compelling for
your readers (they know how the original tv series goes), a lot depends
on how you handle the alternate characters, that's what people are going
to care about. Now maybe if, you'd have Kensuke and the gang making a
amateur movie of the original tv series and using cheap godzilla (not the
recent American movie...the original) effects, that might be more
interesting to the readers.  Shinji in purple Eva outfit destroying model
buildings and dogs dressed up as Angels :)

Keep in mind that the 5 minute world that was created starts differently
than the tv series did (Asuka as long time friend, Touji carpet bagged by
Hikari, and Rei showing up as a emotional panty flashing girl).

Go for it, but if you have a virtual reality EVA game in it...I'll have
to kill you. :) <evil grin>
