This assumes that GUtB is really sincere and just expressing dissenting
opinions. He's *not*. He's not perfectly within his rights to claim to
dislike a fanfic when he really doesn't care about the fanfic and is just
trying to get people mad.
I don't see any reason to assume he's doing that. I think he's quite
sincere about his narrowmindedness. And I agree with Paul--he has a
right to give his opinion, no matter how annoying or strident it is.
On the other hand, his comments on "Thy Inward Love" went too far.
Criticizing the story is fine, and I even agree with some of his points,
but there are several places where he presumes to know Richard Lawson's
motivations in writing the story. There's no way he can know that.
Reviewing a story--even harshly--is C&C. Reviewing the author is a
flame.
