Hmm. I'm going to be selectively snipping to make a point, and you'll see
why I can do so when I hit the end.

Ukyou's portrayal was okay, if you ignore Lawson's bizarre idea of her
madness. How he copped out of dealing with Akane's greatest rival for
Ranma's attention by having poor Akane injured in a fight was a sin and
an insult to the best all-around female character in the series.

Shampoo's portrayal was pathetic. Good
thing for the ending that Akane's skill in the martial arts had
increased a hundred fold. But that evil, underhanded Cologne saved
Shampoo from defeat. Ranma's had enough, so he doused himself with cold
water and took the fight to Cologne...
Lawson [had] lost all credibility at this point...

Lawson has some
Ryouga-bashing he wants to work out of his system. You would expect their
'Final Showdown' to be spectacular. It was boring and cut short by the
Ryouga-basher's favorite device: Akane Finds Out About P-Chan.

Am I reading too much into things? No, this is confirmed by Lawson
himself.

Funny thing about the word "this". It can be interpreted to mean that
Lawson-sempai is agreeing with the entirety of what you have to say. If that
IS what you mean...

May I remind you, Lawson-sempai, that the maxim of the law is that silence
gives consent.

And I'm in earnest agreement with Ukyou-sama (writer, not character) on one
point: If every story you read has such glaring flaws that you can't even
read it through once or that it is to be deemed invalid as a work of
literature... or, at the very most, you derive no enjoyment from it... why
are you reading anything in the first place?
