Well, forgetting not only the several other gross errors in your
conclusions, and the unnecessarilly harsh manner in which you choose to
present them, I'd like to point out that the following statement is pure,
unadulterated twadle.

Shampoo's portrayal was pathetic. You see, she REALLY doesn't need to 
follow the laws of the Amazons--it was something she only did because 
she sort of felt like it. 

Were you watching the same anime and reading the same manga as the rest of
us?  If so, how did you come to this conclusion.  

Shampoo received her curse, because Cologne, (and presumably the other
elders) were displeased that she hadn't followed the laws of the Amazons,
and as punishment, had taken her to Jusenkyou for further "training".  To
think that Cologne didn't know what would happen when she pushed the girl
into a Jusenkyou spring is laughable.  It was a punishment for not
following the laws.

The only way that Shampoo could have gotten out of following Amazon law
(what I asume you meant when you emphasised the word REALLY) would probably
be to give up her status in the village, something that is obviously
important to her since she does work so hard to obey Amazon law, and,
infact, only fails because she can't bring herself to kill Ranma after he
reveals his dual identity.
