Alright, I'm really too busy to write a fic right now, but this whole 

thing

is getting on my nerves.  AM, you said that if someone were to write a 

fic

in challenge for you, you'd write a one-hour fanfic of your own, right? 

I said I would write an hour fic when my challenger does. However, I 
won't write one every time someone wants to challenge me. I accepted the 
challenge on a whim.

<sigh> Fine, if you DON'T want to just get this over with, so be it.  I ask
that the judges hang in there for when the person he DOES consider to be
his challenger writes a fic...  I was just trying to end all of this the
simplest way possible- by giving people the one thing which will get them
off your back (either by showing you CAN write, in which case they might be
more polite to you and take you seriously, or by showing you CAN'T write,
which would at least get the people who are only arguing with you in order
to get you to produce something off your back...

Yes, they truly are... were... my favorite students...

The premise is valid, but it goes nowhere and nothing interesting 
happens. I won't hold it against you since this is only an hour fic.

Hmm... perhaps you haven't heard of character studies?  And, from the way
you seem to talk, you've also never heard of slice-of-life vignettes (which
happen to be one of the most purchased genres of professional fiction there
is, which you would know if you were to look through something like the
'Novel & Short Story Writer's Market,' an annual publication from Writers
Digest of what magazines are buying what types of work- something any
professional writer would need).  By saying this doesn't go anywhere,
you've completely missed the point of the work- or any other work in either
of the two genres.  There are some types of writing which aren't SUPPOSED
to go anywhere, story-wise... because they're written to show something,
not really to tell a story.
