Anyway, the Futabaverse and Ranmaverse really aren't all that far apart on
the dire consequences of revealing the secret.  In FKC, everyone acts like the
secret, if revealed, would make everyone seen as freaks, but if you look at
what actually happens after the last main story, when Futaba returns after 8
years, the secret is pretty much well known.  It caused a lot of chaos, but
it didn't cause them to be shunned by polite society, used for scientific
experiments, or anything like that.

FKC basically goes by Ranmaverse rules on this; the FKC characters are just
too paranoid about it.  You could even have Ranma reveal his own secret,
and spend lots of time convincing the others to reveal theirs since it
hadn't hurt him at all when he did it....
