Alright.

I don't agree with a lot of what the Critic says. I agree with some of what
he says, sometimes, during those times when it looks like he has a
legitimate point to make, if only he would learn some tact.

HOWEVER...

There is no rule that says 'Thou shalt not annoy, nor be incited to
annoyance'. Or 'thou shalt not speak or act in a manner that may cause
others to take offense'. 

It's the plain truth, people: The Critic has a right to his opinions,
especially since most of his opinions are C&C anyway. Sometimes unqualified
and unquantified C&C, granted, but C&C nonetheless. Unfortunately, for the
rest of the list, you've got egg on your face.

Guess what? The Critic is doing his job. Are you? In response to his
opinions (which the First protects) is a deluge of mail characterized by,
well, character attacks. Granted, he's guilty of it, too. Unfortunately, so
are the other respondents.

And guess again. If indeed The Critic only writes to this list to provoke
response, then WHOOPIE. You've all been his suckers. Besides, people emply
more 'respectable' ways of evoking response for response's sake on this
list, like shockfics. What's wrong with shock C&C if some other writer's
going to have Mr. Tendo rape all three of his daughters and Genma Panda
anyway?

For a bunch of 'enlightened souls' you people are starting to look a lot
like a lynch mob.

So the next time you see his posts, get pissed, don't get pissed, or don't
read them altogether. Just don't cruxify him for expressing his opinion, no
matter how invalid or offensive they may seem to you.
