First up: I'm at a loss to see how Lawson and I am anti-Shampoo. 

Richard's

most well-known fics (The TIL continuity, TOP, Roses of Shadow, etc) 

lack

a villainous Shampoo... heck, they contain an at times heroic version.

Lawson doesn't write in characters he doesn't like. So no Shampoo, 
Cologne, Ryouga, Mousse, Happi, etc. He likes the Kunous (sans the 
Principal), the Tendous and, at least, doesn't dislike Ukyou. He really 
likes Akane and Ranma. It doesn't matter if he has to twist himself into 
pretzels to get out of writing in characters he doesn't like (how the 
Bakusai Tenketsu could be used in TOP without bringing in Ryouga or 
Cologne is beyond bizarre).
