Hell holds no fury . . .
A short, cheesily titled Ranma 1/2 fic done on the spurn of the moment
By Adrian Wong
All characters belong to Rumiko Takahashi and some otheres.
This short fic is done in less than an hour. It began sometime after the
final of the Ranma 1/2 Manga.
########################################################################
Inside the Tendo Dojo . . . or what remained of the Tendo Dojo, the
Saotomes, the Tendos, Cologne and Happosai were all staring at the scene in
front of them in awe.
Ranma, his body utterly paralyzed from below the neck, laid upon the ground
in an awkward angle as he stare up at his challenger of the dojo before him
with a look of disbelieve on his face.
"You . . . you've defeated me. It couldn't have . . . it couldn't have
been you. I've fought you before, and I won . . . I couldn't have lost to
you . . . to a girl?!?!"
"But I did win," the girl said evenly while tossing back her long hair,
"and I tell you why. Ranma only master two Amazon techniques. After three
months special training with Hiba-chan, I now master 20 Amazon techniques.
Also, I know secret pressure points where Ranma don't. Outcome inevitable."
"But . . . if there were other Amazon techniques, why didn't you managed to
master that from before?"
"Cause I coward." Shampoo admitted, much to the surprise of everyone
present. "Cause higher techniques very dangerous to train in, and Hiba-chan
no push me." A rather curt laugh escaped her pretty lips as she continued.
"But when Ranma dump I once and for all, after wasting best year of my
life, I knew I had no choice but to stop acting cowardly and act Amazon for
once! Now, Ranma must oblige agreement made before match."
"You Chinese Bitch! How could you do this to me?!" Ranma snapped. "I was
your friend! I had helped you in battle before-"
"And I you, foul-mouthed boy." Shampoo cut him off evenly. "If I recall
correctly, Ranma also try steal my potions (manga vol 8), try manipulate I
into loving Ranma when Ranma no even love me, just to satisfy stupid
Japanese male pride (manga vol 22)."
"I . . .but I . . .fine!" Ranma spat. "Get back at me, why don't you?
Just what I would expect from a jealous, catty girl like you!'
"Ranma only half right." Shampoo replied. "I do want get back at Ranma for
string me along for one long year in hellish racist country. But most of
all, I get back at Ranma on behalf of interrupting sacred maiden combat
tournament at village. Shampoo had already fought against 100 girls to
reach the final match at tournament, and used last of strength to defeat
final opponent. It no fair match when outsider suddenly show up, AFTER
match over, to robe price from Shampoo. I am woman, and warrior same time.
I had challenged Ranma in this match on behalf of both woman and warrior
in me."
"It's not fair . . ." Ranma gritted his teeth.
"This match more fair than match back at Amazon Village," Shampoo retorted,
"and Ranma lost, in front of all witnesses. According to agreement before
hand, must fulfill any one single commanded made by me."
Akane gasped as she thought she realized what Shampoo was up to. Ranma hung
his head (while still on the floor). After a while, he lifted up his now
shame-filled face, and said.
"Alright, I'm a man of my word. I'll f__king marry you. You happy now?!"
To his surprise, the girl shook her head, amazing even her Hiba-chan.
"I no want Ranma as Husband."
"What?"
"Just what said: I no want stupid, weak-blooded, penniless Jap boy with no
family background and connections as husband. I no longer love you."
Everybody gasped in disbelieve, while Cologne alone smiled approvingly at
her great-granddaughter as the girl continued:
"I want Ranma hand over Saotome Ancestor Sword to the Amazon Village. It
price I want for victory."
"WHAT?!?!?!" Genma gasped as Nodoka narrowed her eyes dangerously. "But
the Saotome Ancestor is the symbol of the strength of our bloodline!
Giving this to anyone will be the greatest failure that had ever come upon
our clan!"
Turning towards the man contemptuously, the Amazon replied.
"And Panda-ojisan think stealing Amazon's annual tournament prize not
dishonor to Village?"
The man was speechless at hearing that. Walking up towards the girl with
grudging respect in her eyes, Saotome Nodoka handed over the bundle that
she had treasured so.
"I've underestimated you, Shampoo of the Amazons. And that was the reason
for our downfall. But know this: the battle is not over till we've all
crossed over to another mortal plane. My son shall regain his lost honor
one way or another."
"And our village shall be ready for him." Cologne replied as she slid over
on her staff to face the Saotome Matriarch. "Lots of Japanese men had
tried invading our village in hopes of showing their prowess to the Chinese
world of Martial Arts, and lots shall continue to do so again. We don't
call ourselves Amazons if we were incapable of defending what is rightfully
ours."
"This won't be the end, old ghoul!" Ranma struggled to speak up while
still lying on the ground, "I had defeated Shampoo before, and I shall do
so again!"
Narrowing her eyes, Nodoka added.
"A grudge had been formed between the Saotomes and the Amazons today. Go
back to wherever bowels in China that you two came from, and be prepare: my
son will not fail twice."
"We'll see." Cologne replied evenly as she gestured for Shampoo to come to
her side. The two Amazons then leapt through the hole where the roof of
the dojo once was and disappeared.
As the two leapt from rooftop to rooftop, Shampoo turned to her Hiba-chan
with a hesitant look on her young face.
[Hiba-chan, do you think I had gone too far by doing this?]
[If you believe that putting the boy through what he had put you through
before was going too far, then yes, you had gone too far.] Cologne
replied. [But either way, your honor has been regained by your victory.
We can finally go back to the village in triumph.] Smiling gently, she
added. [Don't worry about that boy: he brought this upon himself.]
Hardening her beautiful, starlit eyes, Shampoo replied.
[Yes, he brought this upon himself. I'm not Ukyou: I needed that revenge
to get the poison out of my heart.]
[And now that you had,] Cologne said, [it's time for me teach you the
other 80 techniques that were the basic requirement for any applicant to
the position of the Amazon Matriarch.]
The End (PLEASE KEEP READING THOUGH!)
Sounds abrupt? Sorry. But this story's just a little POV upon the manga
that I had long since wanted to get out of my system. I can't stand the
maniacs out there who keep on bashing Shampoo for no good reason. Hope
you Shampoo fans out there like it!
WAIT!! DON'T DELETE THIS FILE YET!!!!!!!!!!!!
For also attached to this fic are the TOP TEN REASONS (I believe) that fic
writters try to degrade Shampoo into a "bimbo/maniac/bound to lose to Ranma
failure" in their fics:
10) They hadn't ever finished reading the complete set of R 1/2 manga, but
the earlier chapters alone.
9) They read those EXTREMELY WELL WRITTEN fanfics by Richard Lawson, Mike
Loader, John Biles, Two-flowers, Blade . . . and prefer their realities
over the actual R1/2 one.
8) They didn't know that Shampoo know pressure point techniques (which
Ranma don't), and can actually mind-control her opponents (Manga vol 7, 12
. . . and some others)
7) They hadn't seen how Shampoo had been willing to give up Ranma if only
he admit his feelings for certain (vol 16, Onsen chapter)
6) They hadn't seen how Ranma had manipulated her feelings at every turn,
even going so low as to steal her potions from the girl through use of
seduction, and how Shampoo has always SEVERLY OUTSMARTED him. (vol 8, 22)
5) They didn't realize that Shampoo is the only girl smart enough to avoid
getting conned by that bitch Nabiki through the entire Manga series. The
one time Nabiki tried had ended up with her fleeing from the outer fiancee
gang with her tail between her legs. They also didn't realize that Shampoo
didn't learn Japanese properly cause it isn't a universal language, and
that she plans to return to China as soon as possible (I'd like to see any
of the almighty Tendo girls being able to speak grammatically correct
Chinese)
4) They didn't realize how dominant Shampoo had been in her relationship
with Ranma
3) They are girls who can't stand other girls possessing beauty, curves and
wits, and sought to destroy them in their own jealousy.
2) They are boys who can't stand to see girls possessing beauty, curves and
wits, and sought to destroy them in their own jealousy . . . <shiver> . . .
And finally, the ultimate reason:
1) They think it's alright for Ranma to beat up Shampoo (so much for him
not hitting girls) and claim her prize AFTER the Amazon had won her village
maiden combat tournament. After all she is just a lowly, "uncivilized"
girl from an obscure village in China while he was this high O'mighty
Japanese hero who had decided that a formal education is too worthless for
someone of his greatness (perhaps he intend to make a living by continuing
to leech off each and every girl that comes his way for the rest of his
life?). Whose side would any Japanese Animation fan be on?
This is my two cents. C&C welcome while flames will be deleted.
