correct me if I'm wrong about this, WW), the only sure way to cut this
person off from the list is to take the IP number of the site he's
originating from (which, fortunately, Hotmail DOES stamp onto the mail; in
the case of Gubby it's Originating-IP: [24.112.85.212]) and ban the entire
site.

Searching on this IP address in Dejanews gives me a single post by
the_supergenius@hotmail.com with 24.112.85.212 in the header.

There are also a bunch of other posts by the_supergenius@hotmail.com which
don't have that IP in the header. However, some of _those_ do contain the
address "crush@home.com".

Doing a direct nslookup on 24.112.85.212 gives me
cr437522-a.slnt1.on.wave.home.com, and when you look at home.com's page it
describes itself as a cable modem service, so it's pretty obvious that
crush@home.com is indeed his address and that he is indeed using a cable
modem.

Tybalt and WW could stop GUtB permanently this way:
1) Warn him that he'll be banned if he continues.
2) Wait for him to continue and ban him (if he doesn't continue, the problem
is solved.)
3) Wait for him to rejoin under another throwaway account, and repeat steps
1-3 a few times.
4) Tell his ISP that they banned him from the mailing list for disruption,
but he keeps rejoining under new throwaway accounts and causing more
disruption.
5) Watch his ISP cancel his account. (His real one, not the hotmail ones).

Alternately just filter out anything with 24.112.85.212 in the header. It's
a cable modem; nobody else is using it and you won't catch any innocent
people.
