Part 2

Did I ever tell you how much I like this story you've got started?

In this part, I particularly liked the way that Kurumi "protected" Madoka ^_^

There's one thing that did seem a bit odd:

Kazuya frowned. He reached out with his mind to discover that she *was*
asleep. The more he probed, the deeper her sleep became. He shook her
slightly once, then harder, but she didn't stir, instead settling into even
a deeper slumber. He tried to dart in with his mind, but he knew from
experience that the subconscious mind was almost impossible to manipulate.
She needed to *see* him, *think* of him, to be easily manipulated. Asleep,
there was little he could influence. He could still force her, but he might
damage her brain too much while doing it.

I'd think the subconscious mind would be the easiest to manipulate, not the
hardest. Make a change in the subconscious, it feeds the new "instructions"
to the conscious, and the conscious mind thinks it was all its idea. Make a
change in the conscious mind, and the mind would know that something's
messing with it.
It all depends. I suspect it's because the subconscious mind has much
more... inertia. That is to say the subconscious attitudes and preconceptions
are extremely hard to change. So that while conscious thought which naturally
tends to jump from subject to subject can be manipulated with ease, the
subconscious tends to stay as it is unless manipulated with a great deal of
patience and subtlty, and while this version of Kazuya has a certain ammount
of subtlty he has very little patience.

YMMV, but that's how I think it would work....
