This was done purely as a one-hit joke, in RpM's 'The More Things

Er.... actually, its gonna be two-hit n.n;;;

I have but to offer only two excuses for what has to be
one of the more ridiculous drowned springs in fanfic history...

1) I'm writing wacky comedy. That, by its nature, gives
   a story a bit more leeway.

2) cars have engines, engines can, well, technically, be
   drowned.

No, I'm not really taking this as a serious case for
mechanical objects to be drowned, really.
I still like the story of spring of drowned rock

Wasn't Rouge's curse caused by a drowned statue of Ashura rather than a
drowned Ashura? If so wouldn't this present a case of a drowned
inanimate object? Of course Rouge doesn't become inanimate does she so
maybe this doesn't count.
