Taboo #1: Ranma is Weak!

I find that the opposite is true, and Ranma is often made to look
invincible even though such a view is not supported in manga.

Okay, I think we can all agree that Ranma is amazingly fast, as
Ryoga is amazingly strong. But sometimes Ranma is made out to be just a
little too weak. I think Ranma is only just below Ryoga's strength
level
and not just above your average, or even strong person.

Ranma is very strong just as Ryouga is very fast; it's just that neither
of them are in each other's league.

I know that
Ryoga has had the breaking point training and can withstand many of
Ranma's punches, but my thoughts on it are this; the breaking point
training made Ryoga mostly tougher and gave him more endurance. That
while Ranma's punches are incredibly strong, Ryoga's training made so
they don't hurt as much as they should, but hurt just the same.
Nothing Ranma has, short of resorting to ki techniques, will hurt
Ryouga. Ranma beat him in the Bakusai Tenketsu story by delivering a
reflexed Armugeken to his midsection, driving the wind out of him, and
effectively knocking him out. Ranma would not have been able to do that
maneuver if Ryouga hadn't completely abandoned his defense.

All of this was stated plainly in the manga. Like the Kachuu Tenshin
Armugeken, the Bakusai Tenketsu is physical training. Ryouga became
immune to pain and almost invulnerable to physical damage.

BTW, on a further canonical note, that was the ONE AND ONLY time Ranma
uses the Armugeken (in the anime sense that it's a quick-punching
technique).
