September 7, 1998

      Ever since being abosrbed within Unit 01 and gaining the knowledge that
deep inside the core of the purple Evangelion was the soul of his mother,
Shinji Ikari prayed each night for her safe beturn, back into the real world
like he did, to return to him and maybe be a family once again.  Now as Shinji
looked through the exterior camera of Eva Unit 01 and feeling each blow to the
semi-organic robot and in part to his mother by the Angel, something snapped
within the Third Child.  

      With surprising strength, Unit 01 tossed the Angel away from it as if it
was just a toy.  Raising its head to the sky, the purple menace cried out.
Without another sound, Unit 01 launched itself at the creature that had
attacked it.  

      "Shinji's sync ratio is still climbing," Maya informed Ritsuko.  

      "If it passes 400% again, Shinji will be reabsorbed within." Ritsuko
informed Gendou.  Looking at Maya, "What is the status of the Third Child?"
she asked.

      "Looking a little startled, "He's still conscious," Maya said.

      "What?" Misato and Ritsuko shouted at once.

      "Bring him up on the screen now," Misato ordered.  A few seconds later,
a picture of Shinji could be seen.  He was angry.  There was only one other
time Misato had ever seen Shinji this way, his first meeting with the
Commander after 8 years.

      What came next stunned everyone, including Gendou.

      Raising the prog knife, Shinji aimed it at the Angel's weak point.  With
each thrust, "YOU WILL NOT HURT MY MOTHER.  I WILL KILL YOU FIRST!" Shinji
shouted.


Been awhile since I posted anything.  Presently working on Eye of a Stranger
Chapter 4 with Lord Talon.  Chp 11 of Past/Future will not be ready till late
Sept or early Oct.  

Long
