You know, for the only "true" relationship in the manga (according to 
Takahashi herself), Akane and Ranma apparently don't make that great of 
match. That they live together should be the immediate tip-off, being 
the most pervasive cliche in shoujo anime/manga.

The real humour of the Akane-Ranma relationship is that they already 
acted like a married couple.

    Ryouga Hibiki & Ukyou Kuonji                93%

Good God, I will never, ever comprehend why this is so damn popular. The 
only reason for this that I can see is that Ukyou associates with Ryouga 
several times. But, c'mon, if you took this logic for the basis of a 
relationship, Ranma would be far more likely to pair up with the Lost 
Boy then Ukyou.

With Ukyou, I could sort of stretch my imagination. But Shampoo?

    Ryouga Hibiki & Akari Unryuu                31%

Heh. Probably has more to do with the fact that most of the voters don't 
know who Akari is. I never accepted her as a viable candidate for 
Ryouga; she's a secondary character that shows up and declares her 
undying love for Ryouga in the space of one manga. Takahashi keeps the 
Ryouga-Ranma-Akane triangle alive, but it's not a contest any more since 
she gave Ryouga his consolation prize.
