I've finally gotten an idea for this new Chapter of my Cousins
series! I will admit it took forever. This one will be a crossover
with Street Fighters, just so you know. I don't know if I'll use more
crossovers in this series or not. I guess we'll just have to see
together.
The idea for this chapter just came to me one day, after a fan
wrote asking if I was going to continue Cousins. I said that the series
was on the shelf until I could think of a good next chapter, well, here
it is.
The characters in this series are owned by Viz Communications, and
Rumiko Takashai, and whoever owns Street Fighters.
______________________________________________________________________
Ranma felt the air touch his face in a rush as he lept through
another spinning kata with his bokken. He landed on a rooftop, some
distance away from where he had started, and then started performing the
Katchuu Tenshin Amaguri Ken with the wooden sword. His mother had been
wanting him to try to develop his own personal style of swordsmanship,
and this was a part of it. He was attempting to combine the ariel
combat of the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts, with the
subtle sword techniques of his mothers school of kenjitsu.
While his body flowed through the different forms, his mind began
to go over something that had been bothering him for sometime now. The
Yama-sen-ken. For several years, he had looked up to his father. Even
after the incident with the Neko-ken, he had thought his father a strong
and powerful martial artist. Then had come the fateful day he meet with
the pervert whom his father called Master, that and the eventual
realization of how much better he had become, finally equalling and
surpasing his father's fighting ability. All of this, plus his fathers
cowardice, had eroded any respect he had for him as a martial artist.
Then, came the day when he first heard of the Saotome Forbidden
Techniques. Twin sets of techniques created by Genma himself! In his
first fight with someone mastering only one of those sets, the
Yama-sen-ken, he had been defeated. Only after his father had taught
him the Umi-sen-ken, had Ranma been able to win. After the battle,
Ranma finally had regained some respect for his father. Though he
didn't show it, Genma 'must' deserve the title Master Martial Artist if
he could create those techniques! Ranma's thoughts continued to flow
over the secret training he had been performing, attempting to recreate
the Yama-sen-ken. When it came to people, Ranma was basically blind as
a bat, but with martial arts, he had an eye that even Cologne respected.
He remembered every technique that Ryu Kumon had used against him, and
knew that with a little work, he could replicate them with ease. Then
he would be the master of the greatest techniques of the Saotome School!
Should he though? After all, Genma had tried to forget about them for a
reason, the fact that they were more dangerous than anything else that
Ranma knew. Only Ryouga's Full Shishi Houkodan, or a Hiryu Shoten Ha
could do more damage than the Yama-sen-ken techniques. Ryu's father had
accidently killed himself trying to use them. Just then, a cry, very
familiar to the residence of Nerima echoed up to the rooftop where Ranma
was practicing.
"Stop you Pervert!" Ranma looked down to the street below, and
just as he had figured, he saw Happosai running with his bag, being
followed by some people. Just then, one of the three, an American man
pulled back his arms. Ranma heard the man yell, 'Sonic Boom' and swing
his arms together. When his fist passed each other in the swing, a
glowing disk appeared, which flew towards the Old Freak. Happi nimbly
dodged it, and threw one of his firebombs at the man. The man then
countered with a flipping kick which was so powerful that it knocked the
bomb away without even touching it. The ladies in the group hadn't been
idle while this happend. An oriental woman attempted to catch Happi
with a speed kick technique, while the blond woman performed a flying
kick of some kind. Happi dodge both with a giggle of glee. Ranma
decided to watch, since it was obvious that the three had at least some
skill in the Arts. He slowly began to build up his chi for a Mouko
Takabisha. If the fight gave him a chance, he was going to nail the
Freak! The fight continued for a few minutes with the oriental woman
occasionally throwing some kind of chi blast of her own. Finally, when
Happi got hit by a glancing blow from one of the man's 'Flash Kicks'
Ranma let loose with his Mouko Takabisha.
Guile and the ladies were startled by the sudden chi blast that
caught the little old man that they had been fighting with, and knocked
him to the ground. Chun Li saw this as a chance, and immediately
started to perform a Lightning Kick to the head. When she was done, she
picked up the bag of lingere. After a few minutes of searching, she
found her's and tossed the bag to Cammy. Guile looked up to where the
source of the chi blast had to of come from, when he saw a young man
suddenly jump off the top of a two story building and land on his feat
unharmed. Guile was impressed. Even most of his friends in the Street
Fighters couldn't have jumped off something that high and landed so
easily.
"That was a pretty good fight you three gave the Old Freak." Ranma
said. "The name's Ranma Saotome of the Anything Goes School of Martial
Arts." Ranma bowed.
Guile bowed in return.
"My name is William Guile, but my friends just call me Guile, these
young ladies are Chun Li Zahn, and Cammy White." The ladies bowed as
named.
"I take it this happens alot?" Guile asked. Ranma nodded.
"Yep. I try to keep the perv under control, but he's still a
Grandmaster and trickier than Hell." Ranma said, looking at Happi. He
glanced at Guile.
"That 'Sonic Boom' of yours is a pretty interesting technique. All
the advantage of a chi blast, without the drain. Same basic idea as
your 'Flash Kick,' right?" Guile looked with respect at the young man.
"That's right." Ranma turned back to where Happi lay.
"We'd better leave before the Freak recovers. Follow me." and
with that, Ranma bounded back to the roof he had jumped off of, and
started to head for the Tendo dojo, leaving the Street Fighters to
follow on the ground.
After a few blocks, Ranma noticed that the group wasn't behind him
as he thought they would be, but rather still on the ground, following
at a slower pace. Ranma than jumped down to join them. After a few
minutes, they reached the Tendo Dojo. The group looked at the name on
the sign.
"Tendo Dojo. This where you live, Ranma?" Ranma nodded. He lead
them through the gate into the dojo.
"I thought we could talk." Ranma said.
"About what?" Cammy asked. Guile and Chun Li listened
interestedly.
"About why you're here. Everytime a martial artist shows up,
especially one whose is or with a girl, they want me to marry the girl,
or to kill me. Occasionally 'both.' So you can understand why I'm a
bit curious."
"Ah, we're here for the Street Fighter competition over in Juuban.
We got there a bit late so we had to get rooms here in Nerima." Guile
was a bit unnerved by this young man. Not many people could fire chi
blasts at the age of seventeen, and his question seemed to indicate that
he had seen a lot of fighting for someone of his age.
"It's a full-contact martial arts competition. Anything except
death blows and weapons allowed. Even chi attacks if you're good
enough." Chun li added. Ranma looked interested.
"Maybe I ought to try it." He said. Cammy shook her head.
"Sorry love, you have to be twenty-one or older, and invited by
either a veteran or the tournament commity." she said. Ranma shrugged
as if to say it wasn't important. The Street Fighters went on to
explain that they, and four others were part of a team. They were
planning on meeting their teammates later to warm up when Happosai stole
the girls lingere. The talks continued until Ranma suggested a little
sparring match between himself and Guile. Guile agreed, and the two
found themselves facing eachother in the center of the dojo.
The two began with a simple exchange of punches and kicks. Ranma
easily dodged Guile's attacks, and sent a few weak punches at Guile,
which he easily blocked.
"Not bad. American style kickboxing, right?" Ranma said. He was
familiar with it from the years of training he had gone through with his
father. His own unarmed style was a mixture of everything that he had
learned over those years, though mostly kempo.
After the initial feeling out period, they both knew where they
stood capartivly. Guile was stronger, tougher, (though not by much) and
had greater range, Ranma was faster and more agile. Then the two
started to spar in earnest. Ranma deciding he would raise the level up
a notch, used his Katchu Tenshin Amaguriken speed to force Guile back a
bit. Guile was amazed at the speed of Ranma. The only people he knew
who were comprable were Chun Li with her LightningKkick, and EHonda with
the Hundred Hand Slap. Guile quickly used a Flash Kick to get some
room, and threw a Sonic Boom at Ranma.
Ranma found himself thrown backwards by the power of the Flash
Kick, and was only barely able to dodge the Sonic Boom. Guile fired off
with another, which was met by a Mouko Takabisha in midair. The two
blasts countered eachother, and Ranma began to do some thinking. He did
some quick backflips, clenched his fists as tightly as he could, and
began to channel chi into them. He drew his arms back, and then, using
his full speed and strength, swung them, shouting "Sonic Boom!"
However, instead of the glowing oval that Guile had thrown, Ranma's
Sonic Boom was more like a wave of solid air. Guile was startled enough
by it that the wavelike blast caught him, sending him into the wall.
"You win, kid." Guile said, as he slowly began to stand up. "By
the way, when were you going to tell me you knew the Sonic Boom?"
"I just figured it out. A bit more practice and I'll have it down
pat. Two days, tops." Ranma said. The Street Fighters could only
stare. He had 'just figured it out?'
After a few minutes of stunned silence, Guile reached into his
pants, and came out with a small business card.
"When you turn twenty one, Ranma, give me a call." Guile said,
handing the card to Ranma. "Anyone who can 'just figure out' how to
throw a Sonic Boom like you just did is someone I want to have on our
team."

Didn't you just know I was going to do that? I figured that I
would send this out now since it's been a while since I've put out any
of my Cousins fics. Now for all of you who like it, this project is
officially on the shelf until further notice. I like to use this series
to write off the wall ideas into, and it's fun, but I've got other
series on the burner, and I want to get to them while the ideas are
running. Also, though still fun, it's not 'as' fun as it used to be.
I'll wait a while until I get a blast of inspiration for this series,
but don't count on it being anytime soon. Well, I've got another fic in
the works as we speak, so I'll send you off now. Bye.
