To those of you unfamiliar with my spirit within series. [[And a recap
for the rest of you.]] It starts as a self insertion with Ranma 1/2 in
the first part, which is roughly thirty Chapters. In it someone [Me hence
the 'self' in self insertion.] Becomes Ranma Saotome and begins to
change things in the world. [He becomes very powerful way to early and
prevents the engagement with Akane from happening. He ends up dating her
and keeping it secret from the two meddlesome parents. Things go wildly
out of control and he ends up in a death match with The Amazon group from
China, and Ryoga and Ukyo almost switch rolls in his life. Ukyo becomes
a bitter rival and Ryoga becomes his best friend and student due to the
fact that he was never cursed in the first place. [Thanks to Ranma saving
his butt at Jusenkyo.] He and Ukyo take on a Ranma and Akane like
relationship and Ranma and Akane take on an almost sickeningly sweet
relationship. All because he changed a few little things that should have
happened.
In part 2 it opens with Ranma Dying at a very old age. The spirit
of the self insertist. [Me again.] Doesn't go on to Heaven or hell. It
instead gets reborn into another world where it meets Makoto Mizuhara and
begins to train him [whether he likes it or not.] in the anything goes
style. After which he is Transported to the world of El Hazard. This one
is still being written and will not cross over with this one, How ever
Knowledge that he had once been Ranma Saotome is important. {He still is
Ranma in many ways as their souls were permanently merged.}
[I SAY AGAIN I HAVE STARTED WRITING THIS AGAIN YOU SHOULD SEE THE NEXT
PART: The third night the world of hot springs. IN A WEEK OR SO.]
Now on with the show.
Spirit within part 3
The man once known as Sean thousands of years before stood and
stared his opponent down. This was the first time he had not tried to
change his destiny since his seemingly endless journey began. He had paid
an awful price because of it, but he supposed it was for the best. The
man before him swung at him and he raised his elbow to strike at his
neck. He found himself flying through the air and frowned as he landed.
The man rushed at him and Sean raised his leg and vanished as the punch
nearly connected. He appeared behind the man and uppercut him hard in the
back of the skull, he felt the power surge through him as he repeated it
three times and finally launched himself into the air with the final
blow. He stood and glared at the man on the ground with a cold stare that
had not wavered in the slightest. It was no surprise when the man rose
immediately from an attack that should have killed him instantly. A dark
smile spread across Seans lips as he was beaten back by a vicious
combination. A single punch more and he would end this fight. The man hit
him hard in the gut sending him to the ground with a sickening thud. Sean
stood and sneered at him. His opponent raised his hands in anticipation,
he knew what was coming. Still it didn't matter. No one could survive it.
Sean rushed him and he ducked low, "No!" he thought as he was about to
connect, he realized what the man was doing. "Shin-" cried the opponent.
Sean tried to adjust the attack to stop him but it was to late. He saw
the world become a blue light of power and pain. The last words he heard
were the final attack of the man. "Shoryuken!" Sean felt his neck snap
from the pressure of the final blow and slumped to the ground as he
landed. "Heh, I landed on my feet." he thought. "Its funny what you think
of when you di..."
Ryu looked at the man on the ground and frowned. Akuma was
finally defeated. Not even the man who he had once thought dead could
defeat him, his old master Shen long. Some how he had, he felt no pride
only the emptiness of the end of a hard battle. He would travel again
after his wounds healed, looking for another greater challenge. He sighed
as he realized that would probably never come. His destiny was fulfilled.
He stood and walked away from the body into the setting sun. "Maybe I
should take on a student." he wondered to himself.
Sean sat in the familiar darkness yet again and thought about his
previous life, he had several others over the course of time. Some
lasting thousands of years. But this one was the only one he considered
an utter failure. Never again would he allow himself to fall down the
dark path he had opened in it. He sat for months on end lamenting and
slowly building his confidence in himself back. "I am grateful that I
have lived so many good lives, perhaps this one will allow me to redeem
myself.
He felt the familiar sensations of adrenaline and fear course
through his body and the cycle began anew. Moments later he was hanging
in the air and struggling to focus his eyes and breathe. He felt the warm
embrace of his mother moments later, and a soft voice comforted him.
A few months later he lay in his crib. He listened to the voices
coo and coddle him and the shapes that started to focus around him became
clearer, soon he was beginning to recognize them but they were still
blurry and his instinct was lessening so he was no longer so attracted to
mere movement. Then one day he woke up and saw two faces clearly as his
eyes finally began to focus clearly. He looked up at the faces looking
down on him, one was calm and loving and the other was stern and slightly
pleasant still. He recognized them immediately and started to scream, his
dreams of redemption or finding peace with the god he still somehow
believed in were smashed before him. The woman looked worried and frowned
slightly lifting him to her breast. "Shinji dear what's the matter?" she
comforted.
"Now Yui he's probably just cranky." said his father with a small
smile. It vanished as he saw the look in his son's eyes. If he was older
he would have thought correctly that it was a look of fear, hatred, and
contempt for him. "Its probably just his muscles contracting." thought
the man.
11 years pass...
Shinji stood before his mothers grave and smiled at some of the
memories that played in his head. A shadow loomed over his back. "Hello
father." he said quietly.
"I was not expecting to see you here." snorted the man.
"Well it is the anniversary of that day." said Shinji.
"Why did you run away?" asked Gendo coolly.
"Because I could not prepare for the coming storm with those
people, besides I was a burden to them." snorted Shinji.
"Storm?" asked Gendo with a small smile.
"Whatever it was that you are preparing for father." said Shinji
quietly. "Whatever it was that was so important that you were willing to
risk your wife for."
"You know nothing." said Gendo quietly. It was a statement not a
retort.
"I'm not judging you father, she thought it was just as important
or she would not have risked her own life so. She was smiling when I last
saw her and that is how I will remember her." said Shinji with a small
smile.
"It was a good memory." said Gendo. "You will return with your
Uncle." Two large men came over and stood beside him.
"I have not forgiven you for abandoning me old man. I am not
yours any longer." snorted Shinji looking unimpressed.
"It was not a request, four years is too long to live alone for
someone your age." snorted his father. The men advanced on Shinji and he
simply stood still until they were almost on him. None of them saw him
move.
A blur shot straight up and vanished over their heads. One of the
men clutched his face and screamed in pain and the other looked in shock
at the tattered remains of his shirt and jacket. Gendo felt something
sharp poking at his back. "Do not pretend that you don't know where to
find me father." said the boy with an intelligent smile as he returned
the short sword to the plain wooden hilt at his side.
Gendo looked at the men on the ground and smiled, "You are of
course still enrolled in school?" he said calmly.
"You know I am." said Shinji from behind him.
"Very well." said the man as he turned and returned to his
chopper. He was not surprised to find that Shinji was already gone. The
men picked themselves up and cursed loudly as they followed.
As the chopper lifted off Gendo looked and saw Shinji standing
atop his mothers grave marker gazing at the helicopter as it rose into
the air. Somehow it did not seem disrespectful in the slightest.
Three and a half years pass...
"Shinji a letter for you." said the elderly man who was dressed
in bright but simple robes. Shinji stopped sweeping the shrine steps and
took the letter from the man. "Nerve." said Shinji looking at the
envelope.
"So you must leave our humble shrine." said the head priest.
"Yes, and I fear I shall never return." said Shinji with a small
frown.
"You will be sorely missed my old friend." said one of the young
priest.
"Thank you." said Shinji to all of the men gathered.
He walked out of the temple and walked out of the temple. He was
met at the end of the road by a black car. One of the men stared at him
with angry eyes, he had a long scar down his face. "We have been ordered
to take you to the train station and give you this." he said. He handed
him an envelope and frowned. "Thanks old friend." said Shinji with a
smirk as he entered the car.
"You know him?" asked the younger of the two as he entered the
car.
The man sat down in the front of the car with his younger
partner. "Yea, keep your eyes on this one, he is extremely dangerous." he
said quietly.
"That scrawny little kid?" snorted the man. He turned and looked
at the boy in the back seat. He didn't look any different than any other
boy other than his slight resemblance to Commander Ikari. The young guy
didn't even recognize that. In fact he looked like a bit of a whimp. He
was wearing a dark pair of slacks and a white shirt and undershirt. The
only difference the man could see was his eyes that shone with
intelligence and something else, it unnerved him a little and he turned
back to his partner.
"He's the Commander's son and he gave me this." snorted the man
as he pointed at his face.
"I think you should give it back, its all old and wrinkled."
snorted the other man as he drove.
In the back Shiji opened the envelope given to him and smiled as
he looked at the photo of the woman who was supposed to meet him that she
had obviously sent him. An arrow had been drawn to her cleavage with
"Check this out!" written as the caption next to it. Also she had kissed
it.
"I think I'm supposed to be impressed." he chuckled to himself.
Several hours later he arrived at Tokyo 3 and as he expected the
streets were empty. Shinji placed his large draw string travel bag down
at his side and sat patiently until the military flew backwards and the
missiles began to shoot by him playing hell on his ears. A few moments
later the gigantic monster known to him as the angel 'Sachiel' stomped
his way by and shot down a few planes. One of them crashed down near by
and the angel launched itself into the air and landed on it causing an
explosion. Shinji stood calmly as the car drove up next to him and
shielded him from most of the debri. The door opened and the woman from
the photo was smiling at him. "Get in, I hope I'm not real late." she
chimed.
"I'm Misato nice to meet ya. Your Shinji right?" said the woman.
"Who else would be standing in the middle of this mess? I would
think Sachiel would be a bit cleaner thought." said Shinji cheerfully.
"What?" said Misato as she floored the gas and speed away from
the angels foot just in time. The pavement shattered and shook the car
violently.
"Well he is the third angel predicted in the dead sea scrolls
isn't he?" asked Shinji calmly.
"Uh, I guess...How do you know that?" said Misato warily.
"I grew up in a monastery my dear Katsuragi-san." said Shinji
with an intelligent gaze.
"Misato is fine." said the woman with a small wave. "What a weird
kid." she thought as she turned her attention to the road.
After about a half hour of driving Misato was humming when she
turned her head and pulled over to the side of the road. "Lets have a
look see." she said as she pulled out her binoculars.
Shinji stepped out of the car and stood several feet out in front
of it. "Why are all those ships pulling away?" he thought, then he
remembered. "Oh shit!" he cried.
"No! There gonna use and M-2 mine Get in the car!" cried Misato
but it was too late. The first wave of the blast hit and Shinji crossed
his arms and cried out in pain from the sheer heat and force of the wave.
The car was blasted back and rolled several hundred feet back. Shinji
crouched lower and grit his teeth as he fought a losing battle against
the wave of energy that enveloped him and tore at every part of his body.
Then it was over.
Shinji fell face forward into the dirt and then stood shakily.
Misato scrambled away from the car desperately with tears in her eyes.
"Oh god Shinji!" she cried as she looked around for the boy. She stared
as he stood seemingly unharmed in front of her.
"Your all right?" she gasped in disbelief.
"Yea, my skin's a little cooked and I need a change of clothes
but other than that I'm fine. Beleive me I've had worse." he muttered a
little shaken.
Misato got out and began to push on the car. It had rolled
several hundred feet in the blast and ended up on it's side. She was
straining and grunting while straining with the car. Shinji watched with
slight ammusement. "Are you going to laugh or help me out?" growled
Misato.
Shinji's smile widened and he walked over to the car. "Why don't
you just do this?" he asked. He ran his hand along the length of the car
as if he were trying to find or feel for something. He stopped and opened
his eyes flicked his wrist and the car fell over.
Misato stared at him in annoyed disbeleif. "How did you do that?"
she said aloud.
"Simple, I found the center of gravity and displaced it." said
Shinji with a wry grin.
Shinji sat looking annoyed as Misato talked on the phone to get
them transportation. Something about a car train or something. She also
went on about keeping him safe. "As if I need someone like her to keep
-me- safe." he thought as he snorted. Misato hung up the phone and smiled
cheerfully. Shinji frowned as he looked at her. He could tell by her aura
that she was distressed.
Shinji looked in the back of the car and frowned. "We could have
walked ya know. It isn't that far to the headquarters." he muttered.
"This is theft." He was of course referring to the large number of
batteries that were in the back of the car. Misato had 'borrowed' them
from other cars to get the vehicle running.
Misato snapped out of her self pity trance that was due to the
near destruction of her car and her favorite dress. "I'm a government
employee and we needed a working car right?" she explained.
"No, we didn't." said Shinji. "No one is going to buy that
Misato."
"Aw your no fun. Any way your just a boy aren't you." she said
looking smug.
"What ever." said Shinji as he watched the scenery pass.
"You know...your not as cute as I thought you'd be." said Misato
looking even more smug.
"And your not as mature at I'd thought you'd be." retorted
Shinji. He really should have been more original but he knew that would
get to her, she was starting to get on his nerves a little and he
couldn't just kill her. She swerved the car and Shinji just smiled at
her. "See what I mean?" he sneered. Misato just sulked for the rest of
the trip.
In the distance the angel stood and healed, waiting for the right
moment to continue on.
A few moments later She entered a large pair of doors with the
word "Nerv" in a maple leaf logo with the words, "God's in his heaven.
All's right with the world." written around it. It opened revealing a
large conveyor that would carry the car down beneath the ground.
"Did your father send you an Id card?" asked Misato.
"Of course how else would I do his bidding?" muttered Shinji
sarcastically as he handed it to her.
"Great, start reading this." said the woman cheerfully.
"Why? I already know what it says. He wants me to work for him,
he wouldn't have sent for me unless he wanted me for something." said
Shinji more than a little bitterly.
"Sounds like you don't get along with your father. You sound just
like me." said Misato as she sat back. "So what do you think?" said
Misato as they entered the Geo front. Shinji had been strangely silent.
"Impressive, most impressive. I was expecting this or something
like it actually." said Shinji calmly.
"Your a weird kid ya know that?" said Misato.
"Thank you, it means I'm probably better than most people." said
Shinji cheerfully.
"Right." said Misato looking slightly sick.
After a few minutes of walking around Shinji realized that they
were lost and remembered that this was supposed to happen to introduce
Dr. Akagi. They rode an escalator through a corridor and Misato sighed
loudly as a door opened and a wind rushed by. "Its because of these
things that I hate to wear a skirt around here." muttered Misato.
"What a crime." muttered Shinji absently as he looked at the
numbers on the ceiling. "We've been by this already, just admit your
lost."
Misato looked at Shinji in mild surprise at his little comment
and she blushed slightly. She then realized the rest of what he said and
became irritated. "Look, who works here you or me?" she retorted.
"Both of us now." said Shiji. "That is if you can ever figure out
where the hell we are." it was fun teasing her she reacted so well.
Misato turned red and clenched her fist in anger. She didn't like
being out maneuvered by a kid one bit.
