Neon Genesis Evangelion:
                      Is It Really Worth It?

     This day was no different from any other that Shinji had 
experienced. It fell into a not-so-small category of days in which he 
had fought for his life. But today WAS different....

     "AAAAAAGGGHH!!!,"screamed Shinji as the angel he was fighting 
ripped the "horn" off the head of his Eva. He began to work frantically, 
trying to free himself from it's grasp. "I can't lose, I can't lose, I 
CAN'T LOSE!!! If I lose we're all doomed!!!," he screamed as a burst of 
raw, blue energy shot out from the chest of his Eva, knocking the Angel 
back to a safe distance.

      "What the Hell WAS THAT?!"
      "We don't know! Could it have been a variation of the AT field 
used by the Eva?"
      "No, wait! His AT field isn't unfolded! That was a burst of energy 
similar to the lasers of previous angels we've faced!"
      "What did you say? That's IMPOSSIBLE!!! It's just not POSSIBLE!!"

      "HrrrrrrIHATEYOUIHATEYOUIHATEYOU!!!!!," Shinji said as he fell 
upon the Eva, pinning it to the ground and pummeling it to death. 
Eva-01's hands were covered in blood, LCL spraying out of it's head as 
it returned to it's launch point.

      "You did very well today, Shinji"

      "Thank's Rei. Do you ever wonder of all the fighting is really 
worth it though? I mean, is it really even worth trying to win when we 
already know that it's more likely that third impact will occur then the 
possibility it won't? Is what we're doing really worth it?"

      "The answer to that is different for everybody. Do you think it's 
worth trying?"

      "Ahh, I dunno. It just seems so pointless to fight a losing 
battle. It's just...Well, both of our Eva's have undergone extreme 
damage. How much longer can they really last against these relentless 
angel attacks?"

      "..."

      "It just seems so pointless."
