Mech slayers Part.5 Nichibotsu [sunset]
Ryoken slashed at another bush with the small knife he always
kept on him as the group made its way through yet another jungle. Jun
lead the group with a similar knife. "I demand a recount of the votes! I
know I should be the leader!" Ranted Victor from the back of the group.
Jun sighed and kept walking. Achika looked at Itazura with a
pleading stare that meant "Please shut him up!" Itazura slumped a little
and walked back a bit to walk beside the ranting class president.
"Yoroi-san unless you would like to explain mathematically how
eleven votes appeared in the ballot when there are only seven of us here
when we get back home I suggest you let it pass."
Victor looked at her and gritted his teeth. "Fine." he said and
sulked next to Ryoken for the next hour.
"By the way I'm going to need to talk to the both of you when we
get back, you know the rules concerning weapons at school." said Itazura
to the two armed boys.
"Get back?" said Jun uncomfortably he smiled weakly and continued
his trek along the forest until they reached a clearing.
"This is it." said Phil after a few moments of looking around.
"There." he said pointing to the remains of the machine and what looked
like a good portion of the school building.
Achika 'eeped' and looked defeated. "We are in sooo much trouble
when we get back." she whined. Ryoken and Vic grinned at Ryo.
"Well its been nice seeing you at our school Kobushi-san but I
don't think even you can get out of this one. I mean it was obviously all
your fault." Said Victor looking happily at the remains of the room they
had been in when they were brought to the new world. Phil and Jun looked
at each other.
"They don't know?" said Jun looking at Phil with a defeated gaze.
Phil nodded his head.
"I was hoping they would figure it out on their own." said Phil
looking at the group.
"Great." muttered Jun as he turned to speak to the group. Phil
put a restraining hand on his shoulder. "Phil we have to tell them." said
Jun angrily looking at his friend.
Phil shook his head "You misunderstand me. Look." Phil held up a
piece of the machine in his hand and crumpled it like paper.
"What does that mean?" asked Jun looking at the crumpled metal in
suprise.
"Probably that the effect only occurs in organic matter. But I
need to study further to be sure." sighed Phil. Phil then began to
destroy the machine.
"What are you doing?" screamed Jenn as she ran over to stop Phil
as he crushed the machine. Jun stopped her before she got there.
"Jenn don't." said Jun as he restrained the girl gently.
"What is the meaning of this Kobushi?" yelled Victor as he rushed
up to Jun. "This is a plot to keep me away from my duties as student
president isn't it?!" he began to rant when Jun punched him dead in the
face.
"All right every one from now on you listen to either me or
Ryoken. Unless any one else here has had some sort of survival training?"
Jun looked at the group around him. "From now on I am in command, Ryoken
is my second, if you don't like it you can try to go off on your own for
a while." every one was silent except for a growl from Victor. "Listen
up, There is no way home." said Jun looking at the group hard to ensure
that everyone knew he was serious.
"What?" cried Jenn, "But I have a date..."
"Stow it Jenn." said Phil with his maddening calm as he finished
completely demolishing the machine.
"The machine opened a random doorway. We have no way of
controlling where it would send us. There could be an infinite amount of
worlds out there, we were lucky to get one where we could survive. The
only reason we came back is to be sure it was destroyed, we can't have
some poor fool stumbling on to it, especially if it still worked." said
Jun with a grim face.
"Even if we could control where it would send us, we don't know
where we are, or where the earth is for that matter. The sabotage made it
nearly impossible to calculate. This is our home now." said Phil standing
next to Jun.
The group stood silently watching. Jenn stared at Jun "I trust
you Jun." she said and walked away from the group to sit alone.
Juns features softened. "I'm sorry." he said to them.
"What do you mean 'nearly impossible'?" asked Itazura.
Phil looked at her oddly. "I meant I couldn't do it, nothing is
impossible theoretically." he said.
Itazura smiled and sat next to him, "at least you learned
something from those classes." she said smiling. "Although I suspect I
could learn quite a bit from you." she said as she watched Jun stand off
in the distance watching the lives he had just made himself responsible
for.
Ryoken looked at Jun as he stood on the rock watching every one
take in the news. He approached cautiously. "Yes?" said Jun as Ryoken
walked up to him no longer trying to hide his presence.
"So its true you do know a bit about martial arts and survival."
Said Ryoken. Jun only nodded. "Why?" asked Ryoken.
"Because of your skills, and to keep Victor a bit subdued about
him not being chosen. He'll feel he has some say through you. But I
suspect he'll pretend he doesn't." answered Jun.
"Even knowing what I have done?" Ryoken asked.
"I think I can trust you if only because of Vic. You know he's
safer with us, safety in numbers. You know I don't like him, but I would
never do anything to hurt him...permanently." Jun smiled a bit.
Ryoken returned the grin. "I still don't understand." said Ryoken
as he left Jun to stand alone.
"I think you have more honor than you give yourself credit for,
or perhaps you do?" said Jun as the ninja walked away Jun smiled as he
realized that the young ninja was smarter than he let on.
"Ryoken come over here!" said Victor waving his friend over to
him behind some rocks.
"Good job getting yourself into a position of power. Now lets begin
planning to get me to lead this pathetic little troop." said Vic with a
sly grin.
Ryoken grinned dumbly "Yes sir!" he chirped giving a salute.
In a great throne room a lone man stood in front of the throne
and kneeled before the rather average looking man in the iron battle
helmet sitting in it. "M-my lord the troops have failed to capture the
western border." said the quivering man. Several hundred soldiers stood
motionless around him in rows that covered the entire great hallway that
lead to the throne. All were dressed in uniforms with a red "A"
embroidered in a circle on the chest.
"What?! those incompetent fools have failed me?!" roared the man
in the throne with a booming and powerful voice.
"Y-yes my lord!" cried the man kneeling in front of the throne.
Before any of the troops could move the messenger was being held
in the air by his throat as the Emperor vanished from the throne and
appeared before the poor man. He looked in terror at the eyes within the
mask.
"I do not tolerate failure!" roared the emperor as he crushed the
mans neck easily. He turned to face the crowd of soldiers who stood fast
knowing that movement would mean death. "Do you hear me?" roared the
emperor as he squeezed the dead mans neck again this time completely
ripping his head off with one hand.
"Killing the messenger?" said a feminine voice behind him.
"What do you want witch?" asked the man turning to face an
unclear figure wearing a cloak that was obviously designed to hide its
occupants identity completely. Her long Gray hair spilled from the
shadows of the hood but it was not the gray hair of an elderly person it
shone full of life and her voice was young and beautiful.
"Witch? Perhaps your partner should become Emperor. You are
expendable to us." said the woman quietly so the guards did not hear.
"Send Gall to get them into shape." said the Emperor to one of
the robed men along his side. "Perhaps he can find new ways to motivate
them. The emperor turned and dismissed the gathering and entered his
private chambers behind the throne. The troops filed out of the hallway
uniformly and silently.
"The master is most displeased with your progress." said the
cloaked figure.
"Two of our kind against a whole world? If she would send..."
said the emperor angrily.
"The risk is to great. If too many of your kind are here the risk
they might turn is too much, you know that. Besides the most powerful
beings on this planet are under your control." said the woman.
"Sympathy for the weak is our kinds greatest folly." said the
Emperor.
"A problem we do not have." said another figure who had entered
the room. He was dressed similarly to the emperor but not as
extravagantly.
"Well, Lord Aken?" said the Emperor impatiently.
"Gall has been sent though I am a bit suprised You would send
him, Emperor Yokoshima, most likely he'll kill all the soldiers and do
the job himself." said the figure bowing.
"No need for such showmanship here. I know you are equal partners
in this." said the woman curtly.
"Tell me Inu-Musume, what makes you so much less expendable than
us?" said Aken with a smirk clearly audible in his voice behind the
armor.
The cloaked figure whirled around angrily and growled at him like
an animal. in the darkness of the cloak rows of sharp and pointed teeth
could be seen and her eyes glowed an unnatural red. "You over step your
bounds Lord. That is for me to know." she growled slashing at a wall with
her arm and leaving four distinct claw marks. With that she turned and
stormed out.
"And us to find out." said Lord Aken leaning against the wall
calmly.
TbC...
Aren't Villains fun?! I love to write them more than hero's. Especially
if they enjoy their work! Who is Gall? What does he have to do with our
little group? Does he have any thing to do with them?
In the nest installment Dan discovers how dangerous city life can be,
also what strange powers can he hold in this new world? Some light is
shed on the unusual condition of the newcomers. Also the ninja seeks to
find our hero. How powerful can the natives be?
Lots o' fun stuff for our moody friend.
