BTW Jed... I liked the approach.  Yes, Ryoga's no quitter, but
his depressive personality seems quite suited for this (hey, he
throws himself off a roof during the first Shampoo continuity --
one might come to the plausible conclusion that the 'goodbye
Akane' he utters at that point was meant to be permanent)
